Warriors’ Steph Curry honors Masters legend Lee Elder with custom pair of Curry Brand shoes

During the Golden State Warriors’ recent two-game home stretch, Steph Curry honored Masters icon Lee Elder with a special pair of shoes.

On Thursday, a trio of golf legends served as honorary starters for the 2021 edition of the Masters tournament at Augusta National Golf Club. On the first tee, Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus were joined by golf pioneer Lee Elder for the first time.

After being denied entry into the historic tournament despite his qualifications due to being a Black man, Elder was responsible for breaking the color barrier at the Masters in 1975. Elder went on to play in the Masters four times, recording top-20 finishes in 1977 and 1979.

While on the golf course, Steph Curry shared a special congratulations message for Elder’s day as an honorary starter at the Masters. Curry dedicated his next shot on the course to Elder wearing a special “1975” hat with a quote from the legendary golfer reading, “stay the course.”

New Curry Brand signature shoe with ‘Feel Good Flow’ colorway set to release on Dec. 11

After launching his new brand with Under Armour, Stephen Curry is set to release his first Curry 8 signature shoe under the Curry Brand.

The last time Stephen Curry laced up for a game with the Golden State Warriors was on March 5. When the former two-time Most Valuable Player makes his long-awaited return to the Warriors rotation at the start of the 2019-20 season, Curry will be wearing a new set of kicks.

Last week, the Golden State point guard and Under Armour launched the standalone “Curry Brand” with a new custom logo on different sports apparel. On Dec. 11, the Curry Brand is set to release the first wave of Curry’s signature shoes.

One of the first colorways dropping for the Curry 8 will be “Feel Good Flow.” Along with the new Curry Brand logo, the new shoe will feature a bright tye-dye wrap around with a white sole and a black body. The shoe will also display light blue accents. On Instagram, Curry Brand released a trailer for the new sneaker.

Steph Curry and Under Armour officially launch ‘Curry Brand’ with new shoes releasing on Dec. 11

On Monday, Steph Curry and Under Armour officially launched “The Curry Brand,” a separate apparel company led by the Golden State Warriors point guard.

When Steph Curry laces up for his long-awaited return to the court, the logo on his footwear will look a little different.

On Monday, the Golden State Warriors point guard and Under Armour officially launched “The Curry Brand,” a separate apparel company led by Curry himself.

Since 2013, Curry has been involved with Under Armour. Now, the 32-year-old will lead a stand-alone company similar to Michael Jordan’s “Jordan Brand” with Nike.

Via @StephenCurry30 on Twitter:

The Curry Brand will feature an array of sports-centric apparel, including workout clothing, golf attire and basketball gear. Instead of the classic UA logo, all Curry Brand products will feature a new emblem connected to the two-time Most Valuable Player.

Along with his initials, the Curry Brand logo will feature an ode to “the high wing” and a post-3-pointer celebration.

Via @NickDePaula on Twitter:

Along with the release of new gear, the brand will have a charitable aspect. According to Under Armour, a percentage of Curry Brand’s year revenue will be invested in “under-resourced communities.”

Via Under Armour:

The goals are as high-achieving as his basketball records: by 2025, the Curry Brand aims to create at least 20 safe places to play, support 125 programs that impact young athletes, and deliver opportunities to train more than 15,000 coaches—making an overall impact on more than 100,000 youth.

Curry’s first set of signature basketball shoes under the Curry umbrella are set to release on Dec. 11. The six-time All-Star will be able to debut his new kicks for Golden State’s first preseason game on Dec. 12 against the Denver Nuggets at San Francisco’s Chase Center.

The Curry Brand product is currently available at currybrand.com.
