CU Buffs continue recruiting tear with commitment from Georgia RB Micah Welch

Georgia prospect Micah Welch is committed to Colorado’s 2024 class

Yet another recruit who was visiting Boulder over the weekend has committed to Colorado.

On the heels of Florida wide receiver Zycarl Lewis and Michigan defensive lineman Brandon Davis-Swain joining the herd, Georgia running back Micah Welch became the third 2024 prospect in the span of three days to announce his Colorado commitment.

Listed at a stout 5-foot-9, 210 pounds, Welch rushed for nearly 1,400 yards last season for Baldwin High School and was named the Georgia Region 4-AAAA Offensive Player of the Year. The three-star prospect also owns offers from Tennessee, Oregon, Ole Miss, Florida and a few other Power Five schools.

Following Welch’s pledge on Monday morning, head coach Deion Sanders now has eight 2024 commits.

Colorado adds second four-star DL commit to 2024 class

Brandon Davis-Swain announced his #cubuffs commitment in the midst of his third visit to Boulder

Who says Deion Sanders can’t recruit linemen?

With the help of defensive ends coach Nick Williams, Colorado’s 2024 class gained its third DL commit on Saturday in the form of Brandon Davis-Swain.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Michigan prospect was in the midst of his third recruiting visit to Boulder when he announced his pledge, joining fellow four-star Omar White and three-star Eric Brantley as 2024 DL committed to the Buffs.

Back in April, Davis-Swain, the No. 5 ranked prospect in Michigan and the No. 24 DL (247Sports Composite), announced a top-five of Colorado, Purdue, Auburn, USC and Michigan.

Davis-Swain earned all-state honors as a junior at West Bloomfield High School after tallying 12 sacks and 33 quarterback hurries, per BuffStampede.

Colorado’s 2024 class now includes six total commits and is ranked No. 38 overall.

Four-star CU men’s basketball recruit Robert Miller recaps visit

Four-star recruit Robert Miller opened up about his recent visit with the #cubuffs

The Colorado Buffaloes men’s basketball team has become a popular spot for visits, and the addition of a top-tier prospect in Cody Williams certainly is helping.

Last week, the Buffs hosted four-star 2024 prospect Robert Miller in what would be another massive addition to Tad Boyle’s program.

Miller appears interested in Colorado and has taken other visits to Alabama, LSU and Texas. He also owns offers from Houston and Oklahoma, and the power forward from Pasadena Memorial High School in Texas is a top 50 prospect nationally, per 247Sports.

Miller revealed what stood out about his visit to Boulder (h/t Brandon Jenkins of 247Sports).

ā€œThe visit was good because I got to see a lot of new things with me being in Colorado,ā€ Miller told Jenkins. ā€œI got to experience the state and see more than the school. The staff brought me through how they operate as a family. They are close, down to earth people and they showed me the history of how they are turning the community around after last season. They plan on getting everything back on track for next year.ā€

As far as the future of Colorado’s program goes, Miller feels great about the direction.

Colorado football recruiting: Four-star RB Stacy Gage sets commitment date

Four-star RB Stacy Gage is ready to pick a home

Colorado could land its first 2024 running back this weekend as four-star Florida prospect Stacy Gage is ready to make his college decision known.

Per Hayes Fawcett of On3, Gage is down to Colorado, UCF, Florida, Penn State and Oklahoma with his commitment to one of those five schools set for Saturday.

After receiving an offer from the Buffs in December, Gage named CU to his top eight in January and was later a spring game visitor.

The dark horse team to land his commitment is likely UCF, which wasn’t in his top eight but did make his top five. Gage visited the Knights earlier this month, too.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Gage is the No. 17 ranked RB in his class, per the 247Sports Composite.

Bangot Dak takes Colorado’s final scholarship spot

Colorado’s final scholarship spot has been taken

Head coach Tad Boyle will indeed be using his final 2023-24 scholarship spot as Nebraska prospect Bangot Dak announced his commitment to Colorado on Wednesday afternoon.

The 6-foot-10 center excelled during his senior season at Lincoln Southeast High School and was seemingly set for a post-grad season with Sunrise Christian Academy, but he’ll now be joining the Buffs this fall.

Dak led Lincoln Southeast last winter with averages of 11.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game while earning considerable praise for his work on defense. As a defensive-minded center who averages nearly 10 boards per game, Dak should have little trouble fitting into Boyle’s program, although he’ll likely redshirt his first season in Boulder.

Colorado offered Dak exactly one week ago on May 31.

CU men’s basketball target, in-state prospect Andrew Crawford selects commitment date

ThunderRidge combo guard Andrew Crawford is a top 2024 target for Colorado

Andrew Crawford, the No. 18 ranked 2024 combo guard, lives in the Buffs’ backyard and has been developing a strong relationship with head coach Tad Boyle’s staff.

The ThunderRidge (Littleton) senior took an official visit to CU last October, was offered in December and recently returned to Boulder for the Buffaloes’ high school team camp, per Adam Munsterteiger of BuffStampede.

“I have been under the weather a little bit the past couple weeks but I still had a great outing at CU’s camp,” Crawford told BuffStampede. “I love it up there. They really like me and have always shown me great hospitality.”

Crawford, who is also being recruited by Northwestern and Stanford, is now nearing a commitment. He’ll continue speaking with different college coaching staffs across the country this summer and he plans on announcing his pledge on his birthday, Oct. 14, according to Munsterteiger.

Colorado target Boo Carter sets commitment date

Four-star athlete Boo Carter will make his college decision known in a matter of weeks

Four-star athlete Boo Carter will make his college decision known on June 17, he announced Friday. The class of 2024 Colorado football target is down to the Buffs, Ohio State, Tennessee, Oregon and Michigan.

While a pair of 247Sports Crystal Ball projections have Carter landing with his home-state Volunteers, he has visited Colorado twice since receiving an offer in December. His most recent visit came in April during the Buffs’ spring game.

The 247Sports Composite lists Carter as the No. 3 ranked prospect in Tennessee.

If the Buffs earn his pledge, Carter would become head coach Deion Sanders’ sixth class of 2024 commit, joining athlete Aaron Butler, DL Omar White and Eric Brantley, QB Danny O’Neil and IOL Talen Chander.

CU Buffs hosting four-star power forward Robert Miller

Colorado is hosting one of the top 2024 prospects in Texas

It likely won’t be long before the Colorado men’s basketball program secures its first class of 2024 commitment.

Four-star power forward Robert Miller is a potential candidate as he began a three-day official visit on Friday. Miller is the No. 4 ranked 2024 prospect in Texas and the No. 11 power forward nationwide, per the 247Sports Composite.

In addition to Colorado, Miller has received offers from LSU, Texas A&M, Texas, Kansas State, TCU, Washington State, Cal, Alabama, Houston, Oklahoma and SMU.

If the Buffs are able to land Miller, his 6-foot-10 presence could be a nice complement to incoming freshman center Assane Diop, who’s listed at the same height.

Fellow 2024 Texas big man Doryan Onwuchekwa is also taking an official recruiting visit to Boulder this weekend.

Colorado makes four-star Florida CB Cai Bates’ top 10

Four-star Florida CB Cai Bates named Colorado to his top 10

Even while they’re situated halfway across the country, Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders and his staff truly recruit the Sunshine State like few other non-Florida programs.

Class of 2024 cornerback Cai Bates is one of the more notable Florida prospects linked to the Buffs. The Orlando four-star received an offer from Coach Prime in March and on Wednesday, he named Colorado to his top 10 schools, per Hayes Fawcett of On3.

ā€œHaving the opportunity to be coached by one of the greatest defensive backs to ever play the game is why Colorado is in my top schools,” Bates told On3.

Bates is the No. 17 CB in his class and the No. 32 prospect in Florida, according to the 247Sports Composite.

In June, Bates is expected to officially visit three schools in his top 10:Ā  Tennessee, Alabama and LSU.

Maryland, Florida State, Florida, Texas A&M, Ohio State and UCF are also in his top 10.

Class of 2024 Colorado target Zavier Mincey down to 10 schools

Four-star Florida safety Zavier Mincey included Colorado in his top 10

Deion Sanders is once again in the mix for a highly sought-after defensive back from the Sunshine State.

Four-star safety Zavier Mincey revealed his top 10 schools on Tuesday and Colorado made the cut along with UCF, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida State, Texas A&M, Miami, Florida, Ole Miss and Penn State. The Buffs offered the class of 2024 Florida prospect back in late January.

This summer, Mincey has an official visit scheduled with the Gators. He’s also expected to take official trips to check out both Miami and Florida State, per 247Sports (subscription required).

It won’t be easy for Sanders to pry Mincey away from his home state, but Coach Prime has certainly done it before with other top prospects.
