Colorado makes 2024 four-star OL Jordan Seaton’s top list of schools

Top-ranked class of 2024 IOL Jordan Seaton included Colorado in his top list of schools

After Colorado made a splash by hiring Deion Sanders this offseason, the program’s recruiting has improved markedly.

Colorado’s 2023 recruiting class sits at No. 21 overall in the country, and the Buffs have the top transfer class in the nation (247Sports).

As for 2024, the Buffs remain in the chase for four-star Jordan Seaton, an interior offensive from St. John’s College High School in Washington D.C. who included CU in his top 14.

Seaton has a long way to go in his recruiting process, but if the Buffs were to get his commitment, they would be getting a versatile lineman who excels in both pass and run protection. The 6-foot-5, 287-pound recruit is ranked as the top IOL and the No. 41 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the 247Sports Composite.

As of this writing, Seaton would become the Buffs’ highest-ranked commit in their 2024 class.

2024 five-star EDGE Dylan Stewart locks in Colorado visit

Another five-star recruit is set to visit the #cubuffs this spring

What Deion Sanders has done in Boulder is terrific. Once again, the Colorado Buffaloes are in the running for a five-star player, and this time it’s class of 2024 EDGE Dylan Stewart.

Stewart has visits to nine schools scheduled for this spring and he is coming to Boulder on April 21, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3. Stewart will also visit the following schools, in order: Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Georgia, Penn State, South Carolina, Oregon and Tennessee.

Stewart is the top-ranked player in the 2024 class, per On3, and brings a ton of talent to the table. Once again, the Buffs being on this list shows how quickly things have changed.

Stewart is currently at the Friendship Collegiate Academy in Washington D.C. and also had offers from plenty of other programs, including Maryland, Florida, Washington and Notre Dame.

According to MaxPreps. Stewart had eight sacks in six games as a junior and he still has one full year of high school left before heading to college.

The Buffs have been a regular in the hunt for highly-ranked prospects, and Stewart would be another massive addition to a defense that has five-star CB Cormani McClain heading to Boulder this fall.

2024 athlete Tevis Metcalf, cousin of DK Metcalf, set to visit Colorado for spring game

2024 athlete Tevis Metcalf, the cousin of DK Metcalf, is set to visit for Colorado’s spring game

It will be a busy spring for class of 2024 athlete Tevis Metcalf. As of Tuesday, he is scheduled to visit Auburn, Alabama, Flordia, North Carolina, Arkansas and Colorado in the next two months.

His visit to Boulder is scheduled for the Buffs’ spring game on April 22.

The Pinson, Alabama product is the cousin of Seattle Seahawks Pro Bowl wide receiver DK Metcalf and the brother of 2023 Arkansas signee safety TJ Metcalf. While 247Sports lists the youngest Metcalf as an athlete, On3 and Rivals have him as a cornerback, which bodes well for CU head coach Deion Sanders.

Tevis Metcalf’s recruiting profile:

Colorado among four Pac-12 programs standing out for 2024 athlete Stacy Bey

The #cubuffs are among four Pac-12 programs at the top of three-star athlete Stacy Bey’s list

It’s looking quite likely that 2024 three-star athlete Stacy Bey will be committing somewhere in the Pac-12.

The two-way California recruit could go elsewhere but as of late February, his top four schools are Washington, Washington State, Arizona and Colorado. He also has a visit lined up at Georgia on March 10, per 247Sports.

Greg Biggins of 247Sports wrote that “we think he’s a weak side or inside ‘backer or even a running back and is getting looks on both sides of the ball.” Although his future position remains unclear, Bey stands firmly as the No. 63 athlete in his class on the 247Sports Composite.

Bey told Biggins that he plans on committing this summer before his senior season at Rancho Cucamonga High School.

“I was at Colorado last month for Junior Day and loved it there,” Bey told 247Sports. “The energy was crazy and everyone is so focused on winning and getting the program turned around. I visited CU before when the old staff was there and it’s a lot different now with Deion in charge. Boulder is a beautiful city and I really like it there a lot. Andre Hart and Mondo (Armond Hawkins) are the coaches I’ve been talking with. They’re going to come out and see me in the spring and then I plan to visit again in April.”

Four-star 2024 LB Kolaj Cobbins hopes to visit Colorado over summer

Another four-star prospect hopes to visit the #cubuffs in the coming months

Four-star Louisiana linebacker Kolaj Cobbins is down to six schools: Colorado, Michigan, Oregon, Texas, LSU and Ole Miss. It’s not clear when the 2024 recruit will commit, but the next few months will be critical for the Buffs and his other five suitors.

Cobbins has impressive size at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, and he’s currently ranked as the No. 8 OLB in his class, according to Rivals.

Unfortunately, CU head coach Deion Sanders is likely losing the assistant who has been recruiting Cobbins, defensive tackles coach Patrick Hill. It was reported on Monday that Hill is expected to sign with the Minnesota Vikings.

Nick Harris of Rivals wrote the following on Cobbins:

Colorado has already made one big splash in the state of Louisiana in 2024, and Deion Sanders along with defensive tackles coach Patrick Hill are looking to keep it going with Cobbins.

“It’s gonna be the next big place,” Cobbins told Rivals. “Deion Sanders, when I was on the phone with Coach Hill, he told me he was coming. They’re right there for me. They will probably get an official visit in the summer.”

Along with Michigan and Colorado, Oregon will also get an official visit.

2024 Colorado target four-star WR Zion Ragins names early top schools

Not even two weeks after receiving an offer, speedy four-star WR Zion Ragins named the #cubuffs to his early list of top schools

Things are starting to heat up for four-star class of 2024 WR Zion Ragins. According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, Ragins has narrowed his list of potential schools down to 12, with Colorado making the cut as the only Pac-12 program he’s eyeing.

The Buffaloes offered Ragins less than two weeks ago on Feb. 9 — his most recent offer. But that’s just another example of the pull that head coach Deion Sanders brings in the recruiting game.

Currently, California three-star Daijon Calimon is the only WR committed to Colorado’s  2024 class.

Below is a quick summary of what the Buffaloes would be getting in Ragins:

2024 S Marcus Goree Jr. includes Colorado in final five

Michigan, Tennessee, Nebraska, Michigan State and Colorado made three-star safety Marcus Goree Jr.’s top five

Compared to the past two months, February has been a bit slower for Colorado football recruiting. The Buffs could add a few more transfers following the next open portal window, but we likely won’t see many more 2023 high school prospects sign.

Head coach Deion Sanders’ work is just getting started for CU’s 2024 class, however. Three-star safety Marcus Goree Jr. dropped his top five schools on Thursday and Colorado was included along with Michigan, Tennessee, Nebraska and Michigan State.

The Bradley Central (Cleveland, Tennessee) junior is the No. 10 ranked player in his home state and the No. 62 athlete, per the 247Sports Composite. Goree was offered by CU in December and took a visit in late January during the program’s Elite Underclassmen Weekend.

Currently, Colorado’s 2024 class is ranked No. 13 overall with five commits, including two defensive linemen, one wide receiver, one offensive lineman and a projected cornerback.

Four-star WR Jason Robinson, a recent Colorado visitor, decommits from USC

Jason Robinson, a four-star WR who recently visited Colorado, backed off his USC commitment

One of the top wide receivers in the class of 2024 reopened his recruitment on Tuesday as Jason Robinson backed off his USC pledge. The four-star prospect from Long Beach, California had been committed to the Trojans since September of 2021.

While Robinson told 247Sports that USC remains on his radar, he hopes to further “evaluate” some of his other options.

Per 247Sports, he has visited Utah, Notre Dame and most recently Colorado all within the past year. The Buffs extended an offer back in January of 2022, but the arrival of head coach Deion Sanders and wide receivers coach Brett Bartolone have made CU an intriguing destination for the No. 33 ranked WR of 2024.

Greg Biggins of 247Sports wrote the following on Robinson:

Robinson called the recent visit to Colorado an ‘eye opening’ one for him.

“I really loved it out there,” Robinson said. “I had no idea it was going to be like that. Originally, I didn’t even want to go but my mom kind of talked me in to it but I had a great trip and learned a lot about the school.

“I really like coach (Brett) Bartolone (WR coach) a lot,” Robinson said. “He’s a really good dude and easy to talk with. I can tell he would be a fun coach to play for and I like his vision for the program and I think they’re about to do big things there.”

Head coach Deion Sanders made a big impact as well.

“It was great talking with coach Prime,” Robinson said. “He was dropping so much knowledge on me. It felt like everything he said was a gem and the energy he has and the rest of the staff have is incredible.”

CU Buffs to host 2024 WR Jonah Dawson for Cal game

Three-star WR Jonah Dawson will be at Folsom on Saturday

Every game, and especially every home game, presents an opportunity for the Buffs to impress recruits. Colorado typically welcomes a number of recruits to Folsom Field during the season and on Saturday against Cal, three-star class of 2024 wide receiver Jonah Dawson will be on hand.

The 5-foot-10, 160-pound prospect from Rancho Cucamonga, California announced his upcoming trip to Boulder via Twitter on Tuesday. In five games played so far during his junior season at Rancho Cucamonga High School, Dawson has 467 receiving yards and leads the Cougars with four receiving touchdowns.

Besides CU, his only other offer is from Colorado State. He also visited Oregon in April.

Colorado has offered 28 class of 2024 WRs so far, but none have committed yet.
