Four-star WR Jason Robinson, a recent Colorado visitor, decommits from USC

Jason Robinson, a four-star WR who recently visited Colorado, backed off his USC commitment

One of the top wide receivers in the class of 2024 reopened his recruitment on Tuesday as Jason Robinson backed off his USC pledge. The four-star prospect from Long Beach, California had been committed to the Trojans since September of 2021.

While Robinson told 247Sports that USC remains on his radar, he hopes to further “evaluate” some of his other options.

Per 247Sports, he has visited Utah, Notre Dame and most recently Colorado all within the past year. The Buffs extended an offer back in January of 2022, but the arrival of head coach Deion Sanders and wide receivers coach Brett Bartolone have made CU an intriguing destination for the No. 33 ranked WR of 2024.

Greg Biggins of 247Sports wrote the following on Robinson:

Robinson called the recent visit to Colorado an ‘eye opening’ one for him.

“I really loved it out there,” Robinson said. “I had no idea it was going to be like that. Originally, I didn’t even want to go but my mom kind of talked me in to it but I had a great trip and learned a lot about the school.

“I really like coach (Brett) Bartolone (WR coach) a lot,” Robinson said. “He’s a really good dude and easy to talk with. I can tell he would be a fun coach to play for and I like his vision for the program and I think they’re about to do big things there.”

Head coach Deion Sanders made a big impact as well.

“It was great talking with coach Prime,” Robinson said. “He was dropping so much knowledge on me. It felt like everything he said was a gem and the energy he has and the rest of the staff have is incredible.”
