Auburn baseball adds Cale Strickland to 2023 class

Stricklin, a three-star catcher from Watkinsville, Georgia, has chosen to play at Auburn after backing off his previous commitment to Georgia.

Georgia’s loss is Auburn’s gain.

[autotag]Cale Stricklin[/autotag], a three-star catcher and the son of former Georgia head baseball coach, Scott Stricklin, was once committed to play for his father in Athens. However, after Georgia elected to dismiss the eldest Stricklin following the 2023 season, Cale Stricklin had a change of heart.

Stricklin announced Friday that he would be de-committing from Georgia. Then, in a quick manner, Stricklin announced Saturday that he will continue his career as a student-athlete at Auburn.

Prior to his de-commitment from Georgia, Stricklin was part of a solid recruiting class for the Bulldogs. Stricklin is considered a three-star catcher by 14Powers.com and was part of a class that featured MLB prospects, James Hays and Tre Phelps.

Stricklin becomes the 15th member of Auburn baseball’s 2023 recruiting class, which is headlined by top 30 prospect [autotag]Kevin McGonigal[/autotag] and local catcher [autotag]Colton Wombles[/autotag].
