Colorado lands another national television slot for Week 12 home game

Kickoff time and TV have been announced for Colorado’s Nov. 16 home game

Colorado football’s impressive streak of nationally televised games will continue through Week 12.

As announced by the Big 12 Conference on Monday, Colorado’s Nov. 16 home game against the Utah Utes will be broadcast on Fox, bringing the Buffs to 10 straight nationally televised games to begin 2024. Kickoff at Folsom Field is set for 10 a.m. MT — Colorado’s earliest of the season.

Five of CU’s first 10 regular season games have been selected by Fox, including Saturday’s Week 11 game at Texas Tech. Time and television for the Buffs’ Week 13 road game against the Kansas Jayhawks have yet to be announced.

Utah was picked to finish first in the preseason Big 12 football media poll but has since fallen well short of expectations. Through Week 10, the Utes are 4-4 (1-4 Big 12) with conference losses to Arizona, Arizona State, TCU and Houston.

Colorado, which currently sits 6-2 (4-1 Big 12), will be looking to break a seven-game losing streak against Utah.

Colorado receives less-than-ideal kickoff time for Cincinnati game

Colorado has received another late-night TV selection

For the second time this month, the Buffaloes are looking at a late-night kickoff from Folsom Field. The Big 12 Conference announced Week 9 start times and TV selections on Monday, and Colorado football’s Oct. 26 home game against Cincinnati received ESPN’s 8:15 p.m. MT slot.

On Saturday, Colorado and Kansas State kicked off at 8:26 p.m. MT (ESPN), marking the latest non-weather delay start time in Folsom Field history, per BuffZone’s Brian Howell.

Head coach Deion Sanders reiterated his displeasure with late-night kickoffs last week during his appearance on the Colorado Football Coaches Show.

“It’s not smart for a television executive to say, ‘We’re gonna put the game on at this time,'” Sanders said. “Because you’re thinking about eyeballs. You’re thinking about selling merchandise on the commercials. You’re thinking about all that. Why would you do that at that time when half of America is asleep?”

In Week 8, Colorado will battle the Arizona Wildcats in Tucson. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. MT on Fox.

The Buffs will be on national television again when they travel to Arizona

Colorado football’s Week 8 road game against the Arizona Wildcats will kick off at 2 p.m. MDT (1 p.m. MST) on Fox, the Big 12 Conference announced Monday.

The Buffs, who host Kansas State this weekend on ESPN (8:15 p.m. MDT), have been on national television every game thus far. Their Oct. 19 matchup in Tucson will mark seven straight national TV appearances to begin the 2024 season.

Arizona is currently 3-2 (1-1 Big 12) after a Week 6 home loss against Texas Tech. In Week 7, the Wildcats will face undefeated BYU in Provo.

All 16 Big 12 Conference teams are in action during Week 8. Colorado-Kansas State receives late kickoff time on national television

Colorado’s Week 7 game against Kansas State received a late kickoff time

As announced Monday, the Colorado Buffaloes and Kansas State Wildcats’ Week 7 matchup in Boulder will kick off at 8:15 p.m. MT on ESPN.

With ESPN taking the Oct. 12 battle, Colorado will extend its national television streak to six straight games to begin the 2024 season. The Buffs had four games start at 8 p.m. MT or later last season, including three on ESPN, but have yet to kick off past 6 p.m. MT through five games this year.

Colorado (4-1, 2-0 Big 12) and Kansas State (4-1, 1-1 Big 12) each have a Week 6 bye prior to their Week 7 meeting at Folsom Field.

Four other Big 12 matchups are scheduled for Week 7, including a Friday night game between Utah and Arizona State on ESPN (Oct. 11 at 8:30 p.m. MT). Cincinnati-UCF (1:30 p.m. MT, ESPN2), Arizona-BYU (2 p.m. MT, Fox) and Iowa State-West Virginia (6 p.m. MT, Fox) are all scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 12.

Kickoff times, TV networks set for Colorado’s 2024 matchups against Colorado State, Oklahoma State

Colorado was selected for two more nationally televised games

The Colorado football program picked up two more nationally televised games ahead of their 2024 season, learning the game times and television networks of their matchups against Colorado State and Oklahoma State.

The highly-anticipated Rocky Mountain Showdown will kick off at 5:30 p.m. MT on CBS, with the Buffaloes playing the Rams in Fort Collins on Sept. 14. CU will wrap up the regular season against the Cowboys at 10 a.m. MT on ABC on the morning of Nov. 29 at Folsom Field. The Big 12 also announced that ESPN has the broadcast rights to the Buffs’ Oct. 26 home matchup against the Cincinnati Bearcats, though the game time and specific channel are to be determined.

Details for the two games were announced on Thursday, with television partners of the major college football conferences revealing the full schedule of the first three weeks of the 2024 season along with a select number of weekday games throughout the year.

The Buffs’ first two contests against the North Dakota State Bison and the Nebraska Cornhuskers were previously announced earlier this May. CU’s home and regular season opener against NDSU will be broadcast on ESPN at 6 p.m. MT on Aug. 29. The Buffs’  Week 2 rivalry game at Nebraska will be broadcast on NBC at 5:30 p.m. MT on Sept. 7.

Kickoff time, TV channel announced for Colorado’s first two games

Colorado will be back on national television to begin next season

After head coach Deion Sanders was hired, the Colorado Buffaloes were thrust back into the limelight of college football last season. That trend will continue this fall as the Buffs’ first two games of the 2024 season will be on national television.

The Buffs will open the season at home against Football Championship Subdivision powerhouse North Dakota State. ESPN will broadcast the game on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m. MT, we learned Tuesday. This will be the first time these two teams have ever met, and it’s a game that fans should not overlook. The Bison have habitually upset Football Bowl Subdivision opponents, giving Coach Prime’s Buffs a great early challenge.

In Week 2, we’ll see the resumption of a longtime rivalry as CU will travel to Lincoln to face the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 5:30 p.m. MT. As announced on Monday, the Buffs will make a rare appearance on NBC. Colorado last played on NBC in the 1995 Fiesta Bowl, a win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

How to watch, stream Colorado’s second spring game under Deion Sanders

If you can’t make it to Folsom, here’s how you can watch today’s spring game:

Colorado’s annual spring football game is no longer merely an intrasquad scrimmage. Last year’s spring game saw over 47,000 fans pack Folsom Field and this year’s event should be another massive weekend for head coach Deion Sanders’ Buffs program.

On Saturday, the CU faithful will get their first in-person look at talented incoming freshmen such as running back Micah Welch and five-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton. Along with those two, quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two-way phenom Travis Hunter will be playing in their second spring game with the Buffs.

While Colorado’s roster remains in flux, Saturday’s spring game allows the Buffs to flaunt some of their early offseason improvements. Notable changes include revamped offensive and defensive lines, different schemes and several new coaches, including defensive coordinator Robert Livingston.

Here’s how you can watch/stream Colorado’s 2024 Black and Gold Weekend spring football game:

Colorado still waiting on television deal for spring football game

Colorado is still waiting on a television deal for its spring game

During a press conference earlier this week, head coach Deion Sanders told the media that the Colorado Buffaloes are still waiting on a television rights deal for their 2024 spring football game on April 27.

ESPN, which went live from Folsom Field last April, will be prioritizing the NFL draft, but Fox (or Fox Sports 1) and the Pac-12 Network remain options. However, settling for the Pac-12 Network wouldn’t be ideal with Colorado returning to the Big 12 Conference this summer.

Here’s Coach Prime’s full quote from Wednesday:

“We’re still waiting on television. We know ESPN is dealing with the draft and we’re waiting on probably Fox and still Pac-12 (Network) to see what they’re going to do so we can announce this thing and get these tickets sold out. We’re going to sell out the spring game.”

Regardless of who broadcasts the game, Sanders expects to sell out Folsom Field for the second consecutive spring. Last year, 47.277 fans witnessed Colorado’s spring game and ESPN drew over half a million viewers.

Fellow Big 12 programs West Virginia, Baylor, Houston and Texas Tech will each have their 2024 spring game televised on ESPN+.

The Buffs held their first spring practice on Monday and will enjoy this upcoming week off for spring break.

Colorado receives another late kickoff time for homecoming game against Oregon State

Colorado’s next home game against Oregon State is set for another late kickoff

Despite head coach Deion Sanders’ vocal displeasure with late-night kickoffs, the Pac-12 announced Monday that Colorado’s homecoming football game against Oregon State on Nov. 4 will start at 8 p.m. MT.

This will mark the Buffs’ third 8 p.m. home game of the season. Those first two — matchups with Colorado State and Stanford — both went into double overtime as well.

The Pac-12 also revealed that Colorado-Oregon State will be broadcast on ESPN. Including Saturday’s game at UCLA (5:30 p.m. MT on ABC), all but one of the Buffaloes’ games so far this season have been televised nationally.

Per Brian Howell of BuffZone, Colorado is supposed to have one more appearance on the Pac-12 Network. That will come on either Nov. 11 (vs. Arizona) or Nov. 25 (at Utah).

Here’s a complete look at TV selections and kickoff times for the Pac-12’s Week 10 games:
