Paul Finebaum released his new top-six after Week 13. Where is Georgia football?

Following a Week 13 that saw Georgia’s offense struggle in a win over Texas A&M, the SEC Network’s Paul Finebaum released his new top-six teams as we creep closer to the College Football Playoff.

This weekend, the CFP’s top five teams all took care of business, but No. 6 Oregon’s CFP dreams came to an end with a loss to Arizona State.

1) LSU beat Arkansas by almost 40 points, but the Tigers defense managed to allow 20 to Arkansas, which has the nation’s 106th ranked offense.

2) Ohio State looked good again in a win over top-ten Penn State, but Justin Fields did fumble three times.

3) Clemson took a bye week ahead of its game vs South Carolina next weekend.

4) Georgia, No. 4, looked like, well, Georgia. The defense played great as it usually does, but the offense continued to show its inability to find the end zone yet again. The thing is, we can’t blame offensive coordinator James Coley for this one. Jake Fromm missed two, maybe three touchdown passes vs the Aggies. Coley called a game that should have yielded 30+ points. They just need to execute better.

5) Alabama looked fine in a big win over Western Carolina.

6) Oregon went down to Arizona State 31-28.

Finebaum, who said that he thinks Georgia can still win it all, left the Bulldogs in his top-four and seems pretty high on the Dawgs and their style of play.

Utah found its way into the top-six thanks to the Oregon loss.

On Tuesday night, Georgia checked in at No. 4 in the College Football Playoff rankings, remaining the highest ranked one-loss team.

According to the most recent edition of the CFP rankings, Georgia’s ranked wins include:

No. 16 Notre Dame

No. 10 Florida

No. 15 Auburn

The full top-six is as follows:

1. LSU

2. Ohio State

3. Clemson

4. Georgia

5. Alabama

6. Oregon

Surprisingly, Texas A&M, which Georgia hosts this weekend, remained unranked despite checking in at No. 23 in both the Amway Coaches Poll and the AP Top-25.

Following the release of the rankings, college football fans gave their thoughts on Twitter.

Originally, I was planning on making this an article that included happy tweets from UGA fans. Then, as I browsed Twitter all I saw was triggered fans of other schools…mostly Alabama.

On Tuesday night, the newest College Football Playoff rankings were released after Georgia’s big road win over Auburn.

In the most recent rankings, Georgia (9-1) remained at No. 4. Surprisingly, Texas A&M (7-3), which Georgia plays on Saturday, stayed unranked despite being placed at No. 23 in the Amway Coaches Poll and the AP Top-25.

LSU (1), Ohio State (2) and Clemson (3) all took care of business, and all held onto the same rankings.

The Dawgs definitely had the most impressive win of the weekend among those teams, beating then-ranked No. 12 Auburn on the road. That victory gives Georgia three victories over top-25 teams.

Alabama, which lost star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for the season, remained put at No. 5.

Following Saturday’s action, the Amway Coaches Poll, powered by USA TODAY Sports, has been revealed for Week 13.

Georgia may have had college football’s most impressive win of the weekend, beating No. 12 Auburn on the road. If you’ve watched Auburn this season, you’d know they were the best No. 12 in a long time.

Last week, Georgia was at No. 5 in the Coaches Poll, one spot behind Alabama.

However, after Georgia’s win and Alabama’s loss of Tua Tagovailoa, the coaches moved Georgia up to No. 4, where it also sits in the College Football Playoff rankings.

The highest ranked team to lose was No. 7 Minnesota, which fell to Iowa and dropped to 11.

No. 10 Baylor was handed its first loss of the season via an epic comeback from Jalen Hurts and Oklahoma. The Bears fell to No. 13.

No. 11 Penn State survived a scare from Indiana but held on to win by a touchdown.

Predicting College Football Playoff rankings – Does Georgia football move?

Does Georgia football move in our predictions of the new College Football Playoff rankings.

On Tuesday night, the College Football Playoff rankings will be revealed on ESPN. Between now and then, the committee will have a lot to discuss regarding the 5-10 positions.

As for 1-4, it’s pretty set in stone.

LSU, Ohio State, Clemson and Georgia all took care of business. The Dawgs definitely had the most impressive win of the weekend among those teams, a road win vs No. 12 Auburn, but it should remain at four as the three undefeateds ahead of it still have a 0 in the loss column.

There was some drama on Saturday.

1-7 all won their games, but in Tuscaloosa the Tide surely are not celebrating after hearing the news that Tua Tagovailoa dislocated his hip and will be out for the remainder of the season.

The highest ranked team to lose was No. 8 Minnesota, which fell to Iowa.

No. 9 Penn State survived a scare from Indiana but held on to win by a touchdown.

With everything in mind, I will attempt to predict what the committee will do on Tuesday.

I think the committee is going to give Alabama the benefit of the doubt until the Tide prove they don’t belong. If Alabama loses to Auburn, it’ll obviously move down. So they’ll just wait and see.

9. Penn State

10. Florida

This would give Georgia one win over a team in the top-10, Florida. Additionally, I predict Auburn will fall to No. 17 and Notre Dame, after destroying Navy, will move to no. 13.

Where did Paul Finebaum rank Georgia football after beating Auburn. What about Alabama?

Following Saturday’s action, the SEC Network’s Paul Finebaum revealed his top new top-six teams in college football.

Last week, Finebaum had Georgia at No. 5 after beating Missouri, while Alabama was sitting one spot ahead at No. 4.

On Sunday, however, taking into consideration Georgia’s road win over Auburn and the loss of Tua Tagovailoa at Alabama, Finebaum moved the Bulldogs to No. 4 and dropped Alabama to No. 6.

Minnesota also dropped out after losing to Iowa and was replaced by Oregon.

This Saturday when Georgia takes on Auburn, it will be No. 4 vs No. 12 on the Plains.

To date, Georgia has two signature wins over Florida and Notre Dame and will look to add a third this weekend, which would also clinch the SEC East for the third consecutive season for the Dawgs.

Florida ranked No. 11 while Notre Dame is sitting at No. 16

With Alabama losing to LSU, the big question was whether or not the committee valued Bama’s combo of no signature wins and a forgivable loss over Georgia’s big wins and a bad loss.

That question was answered tonight.
