Where does LSU stand in the College 12-Pack’s composite top 25?

The College 12-Pack included LSU in the top 15 of its preseason rankings.

LSU wrapped up spring ball last month, and the rest of the country has since followed suit. As we’ve put the spring portion of the calendar behind us and the dust has begun to settle from the second transfer portal window, we’re starting to get a clear picture of how rosters will look next season.

With that in mind, Patrick Conn and Tyler Nettuno of the College 12-Pack took the opportunity to put together composite top 25 college football rankings as we prepare for the dog days of summer.

In their rankings, the Tigers cracked the top 15, sitting at No. 14 entering a year with quite a bit of change on both sides of the ball.

Listen to the latest episode to hear Conn and Nettuno break down LSU’s outlook and that of other top programs around the country.

College 12-Pack breaks down the top teams in the Group of Five

With power conference previews all wrapped up, @PatrickConnCFB and @TylerNettuno turn their attention to intriguing teams from the Group of Five level.

With the Power Five conference previews in the books as we approach the start of the 2023 season, the College 12-Pack guys turned their attention to the lower ranks this week.

First, though, Patrick Conn and Tyler Nettuno discuss the announcement of ESPN’s College GameDay site for Week 1 as the crew will be heading to Charlotte for an exciting SEC-ACC neutral site matchup between South Carolina and North Carolina.

Then, they get into the ongoing wait for a Pac-12 media deal, which culminated in the news that Colorado will leave the conference for the Big 12 just after recording.

After that, Patrick and Tyler discuss the Group of Five programs they’re most interested in this fall, touching on teams from the Sun Belt, American Athletic and Mountain West conferences.

‘College 12-Pack’ podcast previews the Pac-12 football season

.@PatrickConnCFB and @TylerNettuno preview the 2023 season in the #Pac12 12-Pack. It’s packed with interesting insights.

The Pac-12 will never be the same once USC and UCLA leave for the Big Ten, but in this final year with the Trojans and Bruins on board, Pac-12 football should be fun.

Elite offenses. Veteran quarterbacks coming back for one more run at glory. Gifted wide receivers. Smart, capable offense-first coaches with considerable play-calling acumen. Pac-12 football will be competitive and dramatic, but it’s going to be explosive. The defenses in the conference will have a hard time containing the offenses, leading to a season in which scoreboards should light up like a Christmas tree.

Patrick Conn and Tyler Nettuno of College Sports Wire are here to preview the Pac-12 season in their latest “College 12-Pack” podcast.

They set up their podcast this way:

“Much like the Big 12, the Pac-12 is going into a season where two main members are on the way out the door. The USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins are Big Ten bound following the season, but do either have a shot to take the crown?

“From Caleb Williams to Rome Odunze to Bo Nix to Coach Prime, Patrick and Tyler preview the upcoming season for the Pac-12 in the latest ‘College 12-Pack.’”

Enjoy the show.

College 12-Pack podcast explores San Diego State and the Big Ten

At @College_Wire, the College 12-Pack with @PatrickConnCFB and @TylerNettuno explores topics of interest to #USC fans.

USC is leaving for the Big Ten next year. This obviously means that the Big Ten is now a much bigger topic of interest to Trojan fans. Yet, while the Men of Troy are leaving the Pac-12, it’s still very interesting to see what will happen to the Pac in the near future. Will San Diego State join? People want to know, within and beyond the walls of the USC campus. It’s all very intriguing.

The College Wire’s new show is here to unpack these topics. The College 12-Pack podcast, co-hosted by Patrick Conn and Tyler Nettuno, dives into the San Diego State realignment drama and the world of Big Ten football. It’s a combination of topics USC fans should find highly interesting. If you’re not that familiar with the Big Ten Conference but want to get up to speed, this show with Patrick and Tyler is just for you.

There’s also a discussion of the Northwestern football situation. We offered one national writer’s list of coaching candidates for the now-open position.

‘College 12-Pack’ podcast debut features another batch of ‘Aggies avoiding Texas’ discussions

Falling to Stanford last week, College 12-Pack podcast wonders if Texas A&M avoided the Super Regional round to face Texas.

Ah yes, the conspiracy theories regarding Texas A&M’s willingness to continue avoiding Texas in multiple sports, most recently falling to Stanford in the NCAA Baseball Tournament with a chance to face the Longhorns in the Super Regional round this weekend.

Last week, I wrote a piece exploring said theories jokingly. However, some still believe the Aggies a purposely doing everything in their power to save every bit of bad blood before Texas joins the SEC in 2024.

On Friday, College Sports Wire Senior Editor Patrick Conn and LSU Wire Managing Editor Tyler Nettuno continued the discussion. Texas is set to take on Stanford in Palo Alto on Saturday night. Disappointed that some iteration of the Lone Star Showdown will yet again have to wait, Patrick Conn, like most of us, was rightfully disappointed.

I was looking forward to watching Texas vs. Texas A&M,” Conn Stated. “But much like basketball, Texas A&M goes out of their way to lose to avoid playing Texas before joining the SEC”

Putting all the cards on the table, Texas vs. Texas A&M, Texas A&M vs. Texas, Aggies vs. Horns, Maroon and White vs. Burt Orange, etc., it will all happen in due time in a setting of significant meaning, but nothing will top the moment they final reunite on the gridiron, as the 2024 SEC schedule is set to be released on Wednesday, June 14.

Debuting the College 12-Pack Podcast: The SEC 8-game schedule

The debut of a new, weekly College Wire podcast sees Patrick Conn and Tyler Nettuno tackle subjects across the landscape.

Is the SEC 8-game schedule a temporary fix?

Where does KJ Jefferson fit in the SEC quarterback rankings?

Who’s the best coach in SEC football?

The College Wire Network debuted the ‘College 12-Pack’ podcast with senior editor Patrick and LSU Wire editor Tyler Nettuno on Friday. The duo will – ahem – tackle 12 topics around the world of college sports that day every week.

And considering the SEC’s dominance in just about every one of them, count on plenty of looks at that angle.

This week, Nettuno and Conn discuss the topics above and also dive into College World Series projections, the Pop-Tarts Bowl and the college football Hall of Fame.
