Mock Draft Watch: Browns land EDGE Isaiah Foskey in 2023 NFL Mock Draft

In The Draft Wire’s latest 2023 NFL Mock Draft, the Browns were slotted Notre Dame EDGE Isaiah Foskey with the 40th overall pick.

In a new mock draft written at The Draft Wire, the Cleveland Browns landed a new defensive end with the 40th overall pick in the draft. While defensive tackle is a massive need for the Browns, the loss of Jadeveon Clowney this offseason does create a need for another defensive end as well. Here, Luke Easterling mocks Notre Dame edge rusher, Isaiah Foskey, to Cleveland.

While Foskey had heat as a prospect this summer, his play this season does not warrant that type of hype. Foskey’s stock has dropped quite a bit, and this selection is about a round or two too high for the selection of the Fighting Irish defensive end. Perhaps a defensive tackle like Alabama’s Byron Young could be on the menu for the Browns.

Mock Draft Watch: Browns land Wisconsin DT Keeanu Benton in Dane Brugler’s latest

As we get into the winter season, mock draft season is officially underway. In Dane Brugler’s latest, the Browns land Keeanu Benton.

While the Cleveland Browns do not have a first round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, they are currently slotted to have the 41st pick if the event were today. It is not a secret that the Browns need a defensive tackle, and that is exactly what The Athletic’s Dane Brugler gave them in his latest mock as Wisconsin’s Keeanu Benton was the pick.

Benton is currently ranked as my eighth-ranked defensive tackle in the class, so going early in the second round is rich. While Michigan’s Mazi Smith was off the board, Alabama’s Byron Young or Illinois’ Johnny Newton could serve as more explosive and dynamic defensive tackles for the Browns to target as they come onto the clock in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Where will the Browns’ first pick be in the 2023 NFL Draft after win vs. Buccaneers?

After beating the Buccaneers and notching their fourth win, where will the Browns first come on the clock if the 2023 NFL Draft was today?

The Cleveland Browns managed to sneak out a win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Jacoby Brissett’s last start under center in 2022. As a result, their draft picks slid down the board a bit. If the 2023 NFL Draft were today, where would the Browns be picking?

As they do not come on the clock until the second round, the Browns currently hold the 41st overall pick in the draft as their first time on the clock according to Tankathon. Their first rounder that now belongs to the Houston Texans currently sits as the 10th overall pick in the draft.

With a fairly easy back-six games, the Browns should be able to rattle off at least three more wins down the stretch. By the time it is all said and done, expect the Browns to find their first pick in the draft coming in around the 50th slot in the draft, with the Texans getting a late teen to early 20s first rounder from them.

Where would Browns pick if the 2023 NFL Draft was today?

If the 2023 NFL Draft was today, where would the Browns come on the clock for the first time?

Now sitting at 3-7 after a loss to the Buffalo Bills, it is officially time for the Cleveland Browns to begin talking about the 2023 NFL Draft. After making a massive trade this summer, however, the Browns do not have a first round pick for the next two years. With that being said, where would the Browns first come on the clock if the draft was today?

According to Tankathon, the Browns are set to give the Houston Texans the seventh overall pick in the draft this upcoming Spring. Without a first round pick, the Browns would come on the clock with the 38th overall pick in the draft (which would be the 37th overall pick as the Miami Dolphins are set to surrender their first rounder). This is the perfect range to land Alabama defensive tackle Byron Young.

Mock draft watch: Browns take Kansas State DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah

In the latest Draft Wire mock draft, the Browns landed Kansas State defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah with the 39th overall pick.

As we are now into the colder weather, it means the 2023 NFL Draft is right around the corner. With that being said, mock drafts are in full effect. And while the Cleveland Browns do not have a first round pick, they do have a top-40 pick at this point in the season. In The Draft Wire’s latest mock draft, the Browns took Kansas State defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah with that selection.

Listed at 6-foot-3 and 252 pounds, Anudike-Uzomah has racked up 7.5 sacks and nine tackles for loss through 10 games this season for the Wildcats. This is off of a 2021 campaign where he racked up a massive 11 sacks and 14.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage. It is still early, and defensive tackle is still a massive concern. However, with the departure of Jadeveon Clowney after the season, the Browns have needs elsewhere as well. Here, Anudike-Uzomah fills that defensive end need in Cleveland.

Browns Film Room: Illinois DT Jer’Zhan Newton is best-kept secret in 2023 NFL Draft

As the Browns continue to look for defensive tackle help, there is a well-kept secret at the University of Illinois in Jer’Zhan Newton.

It is never too early for 2023 NFL Draft content, especially for the Cleveland Browns who currently sit at 3-6 on the season. Fielding the worst defensive tackle room in the NFL by a healthy margin, this position remains at the top of the needs list for the Browns.

The top names like Georgia’s Jalen Carter and Clemson’s Bryan Bresee are going to be out of the reach of the Browns, who lack a first round pick. This leaves a guy like Alabama’s Byron Young square in the crosshairs of the Browns. There is, however, another big name who is flying under the radar in Illinois defensive tackle Jer’Zhan Newton.

Who are the top defensive tackles for Browns to target in the 2023 NFL Draft?

The Browns are in need of interior help, so who are the best defensive tackles in the 2023 NFL Draft? Cory Kinnan gives his top-10 at this point in the season.

The Cleveland Browns are in desperate need of defensive tackle help. They will need to overhaul their defensive tackle room with the real possibility that none of the current bodies return in 2023. This can happen via trade or free agency, but more than likely young guys will be added to the room by way of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Luckily for the Browns, this looks like a deep class of defensive tackles as last year’s crop was not. Who are the best defensive tackles in the 2023 NFL Draft? Here are my top ten guys who look to make the jump to the NFL this Spring.

Where will Browns first pick in 2023 NFL Draft be right now?

The midway point of the 2022 season is a great time to check in on the Browns and their 2023 NFL Draft status

We now enter Week 10 of the 2022 NFL season, and the Cleveland Browns are hitting about the midway point of their season. With nine games left to play this season, this is a good time to check in and see where they would be picking in the 2023 NFL Draft if it were happening today.

The Browns would be picking with the 13th overall pick in the draft if the draft happened today according to Tankathon. Well, the Houston Texans would be picking 13th overall after the Browns packaged up three first round picks this offseason, which is identical to the pick that was traded a year ago.

This leaves the first pick that the Browns actually hold to take place with the 44th overall pick in the draft. Given the positional value of defensive tackle, the Browns could land a shiny new toy at that slot this upcoming Spring.

This is the pick the Browns traded out of a year ago. There is still plenty of football left to be played, but this is how the draft order currently falls.

4 evident 2023 NFL Draft needs through eight games

We take a look at what the Browns might look for in the 2023 NFL Draft as holes on the roster are showing themselves.

The Cleveland Browns are on their bye week, so this is the perfect time to get some 2023 NFL Draft work done to get a good grasp on players looking to make the jump to the NFL. The Browns, however, will not have a first round pick for two more seasons, but there is still plenty of value to be found in the middle rounds of the draft.

And they have quite a few holes to fill on their roster.

Some of these holes can be filled through free agency, of course, but as we stand today, here are the bigger needs for the Browns as they continue to scout at the college level.
