As a result, their draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft has dropped a few slots from a week ago. As they look to put a dagger in the playoff hopes of the Pittsburgh Steelers next week, they could see that pick drop another spot or two. According to Tankathon, the Browns currently hold the 43rd pick in the draft as they do not hold a first round pick. Now that we have entered into the colder season, we have officially hit 2023 NFL Mock Draft season. The days of consistent first overall picks are over for the Browns, but the draft still has a certain energy in Cleveland. Even without a first round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, there is still plenty of draw to the event for the Cleveland Browns and their fans. In a recent mock draft done by Luke Easterling of Draft Wire, the Browns were mocked LSU pass rusher B.J. Ojulari with the 42nd overall pick.

This would be an absolute slam dunk for the Browns if they were able to land Ojulari at this stage of the draft. There are not two pass rushers in this class that I can confidently say are better than Ojulari, however, he remains a bit overlooked at this point in the pre-draft process.

Keep him a secret as he would be a tremendous fit in Cleveland.

As the 2023 NFL Draft nears closer, mock drafts are starting to fly around everywhere. In the Draft Wire’s latest mock draft done by Luke Easterling, the Cleveland Browns selected the high-profile Army pass rusher Andre Carter II with the 42nd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Mock Draft.

Carter II burst onto the scene last year when he racked up 14.5 sacks for the Golden Knights. That number has dropped to just 3.5 this season.

With Jadeveon Clowney set to walk this offseason, defensive end makes sense as a position of need. However, a big end who can play opposite Myles Garrett may make a bit more sense than a guy who looks to have situational pass rusher written all over him early in his career.

It feels like deja vu, but if the 2023 NFL Draft were today, the Cleveland Browns would be picking with the 44th overall pick (according to Tankathon), with the Houston Texans selecting 13th overall with their first round pick. Just like last year.

After stacking back-to-back wins, the Browns have not only seen their playoff odds rise up a bit, but their draft pick is dropping as well. With no first round pick, their first pick has risen to as high as the mid-30s, but as the Browns are finding some success, that pick is dropping back toward the middle of round two.

With plenty of holes to fill, the Browns could go in a variety of directions. The most popular selection is defensive tackle, but offensive tackle remains a need, while defensive end and wide receiver could use a top-end body as well. There is still plenty of time to go, but it will be interesting to see what the Browns do.
