Although the 2025 recruiting class has yet to sign, Notre Dame football has still been extremely active with the 2026 cycle.
One of those prospects that the Irish are after is Ohio linebacker [autotag]Cincere Johnson[/autotag], who will be on campus for the ‘Grill and Chill’ event on Thursday. The 6-foot, 3-inch and 225-pounder will make his way to South Bend from Cleveland according to a report by 247Sports Eric Thomas.
Johnson is viewed as one of the nation’s top players, ranking as the No. 117 overall prospect and 10th ranked linebacker according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He told Thomas that he “love(s) and enjoy(s) going down to Notre Dame because of the football IQ, and the past, the history behind all the different coaches.”

It seems like Ohio State will be Notre Dame’s biggest challenger in Johnson’s recruitment, although the Buckeyes have yet to extend a scholarship offer to him.
