BKFC 28 results: Christine Ferea overwhelms, forces Taylor Starling to wave off fight in 47 seconds

It was a short night at the office for the 125-pound BKFC champ Christine Ferea, who completely overwhelmed her opponent Taylor Starling.

[autotag]Christine Ferea[/autotag] was simply too much to handle on Saturday night.

In the main event of BKFC 28, Ferea (6-1 BKFC) put her 125-pound title on the line for the first time against previously-undefeated bareknuckle competitor, Taylor Starling. While the bout was scheduled for five rounds, it wouldn’t see past the first minute.

The fight took place at Rio Rancho Events Center in Albuquerque, N.M.

From the moment the fight began, Starling (3-1 BKFC) was throttled by Ferea, who put together fast combinations of punches, leading to a fast knockdown. As the referee began to count, Starling returned to her feet and began telling her corner she did not want to continue.

Check out video of the initial flurry of punches from Ferea below (via Instagram):

The referee got her attention to ask if she was able to keep fighting, and she did. The fight resumed, and so did the barrage from Ferea. A moment later, Starling put her hands up to wave off the fight, signaling she wanted no more just 47 seconds into the fight.

Ferea, 39, defends her title for the first time and improves to six wins under the BKFC banner. The Invicta FC veteran has won four-straight bareknuckle competitions, including three stoppages during her current streak. Only one of her six BKFC fights reached the judges’ scorecards.

Starling, 26, entered Saturday’s title opportunity as an undefeated bareknuckle fighter with three-straight wins over Charisa Sigala, Cassie Robb, and Hannah Guy.

Official results of BKFC 28 include:

  • Christine Ferea def. Taylor Starling via TKO (retirement) – Round 1, 0:47
  • John Dodson def. Ryan Benoit via knockout – Round 1, 0:40
  • Brad Kelly def. Isaac Vallie-Flagg via unanimous decision (50-44, 50-44, 50-44)

BKFC 28 faceoffs get weird: Christine Ferea shoves Taylor Starling; fighter tells opponent, ‘I’m gonna f*ck your dog’

Bring your dog to ceremonial faceoffs and run the risk of some of the worst trash talk of all time.

Things got a little bit weird Friday at the BKFC 28 ceremonial faceoffs.

Yes, I know oftentimes BKFC and weird go hand-in-hand. Shock factor is a cheap-yet-successful method of attracting eyeballs. Usually for BKFC, it’s the name recognition of former UFC fighters that brings in the most attention.

The next step down is presenting unique, unknown individuals who sometimes look like a decked-out “create a character” from a video game.

But Friday, the next layer down was revealed: trash talk so vilely cringe that it has you second-guessing if you heard the person correctly.

I’m not talking about the main event shove (see above) between [autotag]Christine Ferea[/autotag] and [autotag]Taylor Starling[/autotag], no – although that’s a solid way to sell a fight, ladies. Well done.

I’m talking about the preliminary card bout, in which one fighter ([autotag]Antonio Soto III[/autotag]) told his opponent ([autotag]Joshua Morales[/autotag]), ‘After I know you out, I’m gonna f*ck your dog.’

I’m not sure if it was the desired effect to self-own, but that seems pretty self-deprecating to me. What I do know, is that I think combat sports trash talk just hit an all-time low. Especially seeing as the dog was within listening distance!

Don’t believe me? Check out the clip below for yourself.

P.S. I have to say, the panning onto the dog was hilarious – like something out of “The Office,” as one commenter pointed out. There’s no way that good boy didn’t understand what his owner’s opponent said. They know more than they let on. You know that, right?

BKFC 28 takes place Saturday at Rio Rancho Events Center in Albuquerque, N.M. and streams on FITE.

BKFC KnuckleMania 2 results: Christine Ferea batters Britain Beltran, wins inaugural women’s flyweight title

Christine Ferea took care of business on Saturday to become the inaugural BKFC women’s flyweight champion.

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – [autotag]Christine Ferea[/autotag] did it again.

The former MMA fighter turned BKFC flyweight defeated [autotag]Britain Beltran[/autotag] once again at Saturday’s BKFC: KnuckleMania 2 event. Ferea outpointed Beltran 48-47, 48-47, and 49-46 to win a unanimous decision. With the victory, Ferea is now the first-ever BKFC women’s flyweight champion.

It was a high-paced fight that showcased Ferea’s power and volume.

In the first round, Beltran effectively stayed on the outside and was able to pull off a stick-and-move strategy, often connecting on Ferea while avoiding her power.

The second round was similar in terms of strategy, but Ferea did more damage and busted open Beltran’s right eye cheek. Ferea was quick with her combinations and did plenty of damage.

From there, the momentum shifted vastly on Ferea’s favor. She managed to find her rage on Beltran and did visible damage to Beltran’s face while keeping her’s clean. The third, fourth and fifth round were strong rounds for Ferea. Her punches and combinations landed more ofter than Beltran’s and clearly did more damage.

Ferea, 39, fought under the Invicta banner three times before making the switch to bareknuckle boxing. Her lone victory with the promotion was a third-round stoppage over UFC veteran Rachael Ostovich at Invicta FC 21 in 2017. Since changing combat sports disciplines, Ferea has found her home as she picked up her fifth victory with BKFC.

Up-to-the-minute results of BKFC: KnuckleMania 2 include:

  • Christine Ferea def. Britain Beltran via unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 49-46) – for vacant flyweight title

BKFC Fight Night Montana results: Joe Riggs knocks out Melvin Guillard in 59 seconds

Joe Riggs made quick work of fellow MMA veteran Melvin Guillard in the main event of BKFC Fight Night Montana.

Two grizzled mixed martial arts veterans met to cap off BKFC’s event in Billings, Mont., on Saturday evening.

Former UFC competitors [autotag]Joe Riggs[/autotag] and [autotag]Melvin Guillard[/autotag] took off the gloves to bare knuckle box at 185 pounds in the main event of Saturday’s BKFC Fight Night Montana.

The event took place at the MetraPark Arena in Billings, Mont., and aired on the FITE and the BKTV app.

The main event didn’t last very long.

Guillard got the action started by offering a few punches, but Riggs decided to just defend the first few strikes instead of returning fire. Perhaps just getting a read on his opponent in the opening seconds, Riggs let the action come to him, until he decided it was time to strike.

When Riggs threw, he landed flush and dropped Guillard. Riggs gave a little push to Guillard on the way down, resulting in Guillard slumping over the bottom rope. Guillard did not return to his feet, and the fight was over by knockout just 59 seconds into the contest.

“I just want the belt,” Riggs said during his post fight interview. “I don’t care what weight, I want that f*cking belt.”

This was the fifth BKFC fight for Riggs, who improves to 3-1-1 with the promotion, with his eyes set on a title shot. On the other end, Guillard falls to 0-4 under the BKFC banner.

In the co-main event, Invicta veteran and former BKFC champ [autotag]Christine Ferea[/autotag] competed against Calista Silgado.

Ferea beat her opponent to the punch all night long, eventually finding the knockout punch in the third round to notch her second stoppage in a row. At the conclusion of the bout, Ferera called out Bec Rawlings during her post-fight interview.

The full results of the event are as follows:

  • Joe Riggs def. Melvin Guillard knockout (punch) – Round 1, 0:59
  • Christine Ferea def. Calista Silgado via knockout (punches) – Round 3, 1:34
  • Lloyd Mix def. Brett Fields via knockout (punch) – Round 1, 0:14
