Auburn among five-star forward Chris Cenac’s top schools

Cenac listed Auburn, Arkansas, Baylor, Kentucky, Houston, Tennessee, and LSU on his top seven list.

2025 five-star power forward prospect Chris Cenac has placed Auburn in his top seven schools following a recent visit to the Plains. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Cenac listed Auburn, Arkansas, Baylor, Kentucky, Houston, Tennessee, and LSU on his top seven list.

A consensus top 10 recruit in the 2025 class, Cenac had previously stated Auburn interests him because of head coach Bruce Pearl’s ability to develop pro-level forwards like Jabari Smith and Chuma Okeke. He further emphasized that recently when speaking with On3’s Jamie Shaw. “I’m looking for a school that will develop me the most and help me get to the next level…I’ll want to be looking for an NBA type system, spreading the floor, playing four or five out.”

While the 6-foot-10, 195-pound forward isn’t likely to make a decision until at least November of this year, Auburn could further interest Cenac because of the plethora of playing time opening up in the front court as soon as 2025, with Johni Broome and Dylan Cardwell set to play their final seasons at Auburn in 2024. If Cenac does decide to join Bruce Pearl’s Tigers, he would add a cornerstone in the front court along to what has becoming a promising room of young guards.

Chris Cenac will look to average a double-double for the second straight season when he and Link Academy (MO) open up the season later this fall. The current Tigers have to wait a bit longer, as Bruce Pearl’s squad tips off on November 6 against Vermont at Auburn Arena.

Kentucky makes the final seven schools for one top 10 2025 recruit

Recruit Chris Cenac Jr has included Kentucky basketball in his final seven schools.

Kentucky basketball coach Mark Pope has a tall task ahead of him. Fans are used to elite recruiting classes under former coach John Calipari, and will expect the same from Pope. He’s off to a good start in the 2025, with Malachi Moreno and Jasper Johnson already on board. Chris Cenac Jr is another player in their radar.

Cenac has cut his list of schools down to seven, and Kentucky is one of them, according to Joe Tipton of On3. Along with the Wildcats, Arkansas, Baylor, Houston, the Tennessee Volunteers, LSU Tigers, and Auburn Tigers are being considered.

Cenac is ranked as the number ten overall player in the 2025 class by 247sports. He’s rated five stars and is the top center in the class as well.

Kentucky recently received an official visit from Cenac, who was in town in late September. He has a couple of other visits coming up, and is expected to make a decision next month. He would be a terrific addition to the Wildcats.

Top ten 2025 recruits Chris Cenac Jr and Mikel Brown Jr will visit Kentucky basketball this weekend.

Coach Mark Pope and Kentucky basketball have already landed two top recruits in the 2025 class in Malachi Moreno and Jasper Johnson. They aren’t stopping there, however. This weekend, the Cats will host two of 2025’s best recruits for a visit.

Chris Cenac Jr is a five-star center out of Louisiana that Kentucky originally offered back in June. Despite the commitment from Moreno, Pope has stayed in contact, and 247sports’ number ten overall player still has interest as well.

Mikel Brown Jr is also rated five stars by 247sports. The point guard out of Florida is the seventh overall player in the class, and has been hearing from Kentucky since May.

Both Cenac and Brown will be visiting Lexington starting this Friday, and they’ll be there all weekend.

It will be interesting to see how the recruitment of Cenac and Brown plays out amidst Pope’s recruitment of Caleb Wilson and Acaden Lewis. Either way, if Kentucky can land two of those four, it will be an elite first class for Pope and his staff.

Two of the top basketball recruits in the country will be making their way to the Plains this weekend for Auburn’s SEC opener.

Five-star power forward [autotag]Chris Cenac[/autotag] and four-star small forward [autotag]Shon Abaev[/autotag] are set to take their first visits to the Loveliest Village this weekend. The 6-foot-10 Cenac listed the Tigers among his list of top 10 schools back in Early August, while the 6-foot-7 Abaev has also stayed interested in joining the Tigers throughout his recruiting process.

Cenac is a consensus top 10 recruit in the 2025 class. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, the power forward/center averaged a double-double last as a junior in high school. He’ll play his senior season away from home at Link Academy in Branson, Missouri as he tries to refine his game against better competition. With a move to a more competitive high school, it makes sense the No. 2 power forward in the class wants to go to a college that challenges him as well.

Speaking with On3’s Jamie Shaw, Cenac reiterated his need for development.

“I’m looking for a school that will develop me the most and help me get to the next level… I’ll want to be looking for an NBA-type system, spreading
the floor, playing four or five out,” Cenac said. “I’m open to any school around the country really, location won’t matter.”

Bruce Pearl and the Tigers currently hold a 12.4% chance to land the highly-coveted big man according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction machine. LSU, which plays games just up the road from his hometown, is currently the favorite to land Cenac’s talents.

Forward Shon Abaev will also be on the Plains this weekend to soak up the atmosphere of an SEC football game. A consensus top 30 recruit in the 2025 class, Abaev is a fantastic three-level scorer who finished the tournament circuit this summer averaging well over 20 points per game.

He hasn’t had much time to rest since summer ball, as his trip to Auburn will be his fifth official visit in the last six weeks. The Ft. Lauderdale native has already been to Dayton, Syracuse, Cincinnati, and USC this summer and still has outings to Maryland and Connecticut scheduled for later this fall.

On3’s Jamie Shaw believes the high-level scorer could end up an Auburn Tiger, as she agrees with On3’s prediction machine giving the Tigers a 13.7% “The program sources continue to talk about Auburn.”

A five star center will be visiting Kentucky basketball this month

Class of 2025 center Chris Cenac Jr will be visiting Kentucky basketball this month.

Early in August, 2025 recruit Chris Cenac Jr cut his list of schools down to 12, and Kentucky basketball was one of them. Now, Cenac is planning a visit to Lexington as he works towards a commitment.

Cenac is a 6’10”, 230 lb power forward in the 2025 recruiting class. He’s rated four stars, and ranked as the number 14 overall prospect and the number one center according to 247sports.

On3’s Joe Tipton is reporting that Cenac will be visiting coach Mark Pope and Kentucky on the weekend of September 27th.  That’s the same weekend guard Mikel Brown will be in town for a visit. Either one, or both, would be tremendous additions to Pope’s first recruiting class.

A lot of fans questioned whether or not Pope would be able to recruit the kind of talent that former coach John Calipari did. He has already landed top 25 player Malachi Moreno, and is predicted to land five-star guard Jasper Johnson. Getting Cenac too would prove Pope’s doubters wrong.

LSU basketball set to host 5-star Louisiana forward for official visit

The Tigers will play host to one of the top prospects in the 2025 class later this fall.

LSU basketball and coach [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] are still looking for the first commitment in the 2025 cycle, but they’ll have the chance to sell one of the best players in the class who also happens to hail from the state of Louisiana.

[autotag]Chris Cenac[/autotag], a top-15 player nationally from the Link Academy in New Orleans, will take an official visit to Baton Rouge the weekend of Nov. 9, according to a report from On3’s Matthew Brune.

The Tigers are currently the slim favorite to land the 6-foot-10 power forward, according to the On3 recruiting prediction machine. Cenac previously visited Baton Rouge unofficially for last season’s upset win over Kentucky, and he’ll be in town for the weekend of the Alabama game this time around.

Cenac is a major priority for the Tigers and would give them a very talented player to build the class around.

Alabama makes Top 12 programs for nation’s top 2025 center

One of the nation’s top prospects has narrowed his list.

With the list having been announced this past Friday afternoon, the Alabama Crimson Tide have officially made the Top 12 for one of the nation’s premier basketball prospects in the 2025 class, Chris Cenac.

In addition to Alabama, the remaining programs included in the Top 12 were as follows: Arkansas Razorbacks, Auburn Tigers, Baylor Bears, Houston Cougars, Kentucky Wildcats, Louisville Cardinals, LSU Tigers, Michigan State Spartans, Tennessee Volunteers, Texas Longhorns, and UConn Huskies.

Cenac is currently considered as the nation’s No. 16 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, as well as the top center in the class. A five-star prospect, Cenac is also ranked as the top player in the state of Missouri where he attends Link Academy, one of the top high school basketball programs in the country.

At the moment, Alabama does not hold a commitment in the 2025 cycle, but are linked to multiple top prospects alongside Cenac.

Michigan State basketball has cracked the top 12 for a big-time prospect in the 2025 class.

Five-star center Chris Cenac included the Spartans on his top 12 schools list earlier this week. Cenac also included UConn, LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Baylor, Tennessee, Houston, Louisville, Texas, Kentucky and Arkansas.

Cenac ranks as the No. 1 center in the 247Sports’ rankings for the 2025 class. He’s also listed as the No. 14 overall prospect in the class and top player from Missouri.

Cenac holds more than 30 scholarship offers, according to On3 insider Joe Tipton. Michigan State is one of the many schools to offer Cenac.

One of the best players in the 2025 recruiting class is in LSU’s backyard. [autotag]Chris Cenac[/autotag] is a 6-foot-10, 230-pound, five-star Center from New Orleans where he played for Isidore Newman. He has since transferred to play for Link Academy in Branson, Missouri.

Recently, Cenac narrowed his list of final teams down to 12 and LSU made the list. LSU joins Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, UConn, Houston, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, Tennessee and Texas in the list of finalists.

There are no crystal ball projections to land Cenac at this time but LSU is a 45% favorite to land him according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine. [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] has not secured any commitments from the 2025 recruiting class yet but Cenac would be an incredible pickup.

McMahon will be entering his third season on the Bayou this winter and his team improved a lot from year one to year two. We will see how much of a jump his team takes in year three.

2025 five-star power forward Chris Cenac announced his list of top 12 schools on Friday. The No. 5 recruit in the class, Cenac cut his choices down to Auburn, Arkansas, Alabama, Baylor, Houston, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU Michigan State, Tennessee, Texas, and UConn.

The 6-foot-10, 210-pound big man averaged a double-double last season at Newman High school in New Orleans. Now a more coveted recruit, Cenac chose to transfer to Link Academy in Branson, MO for his senior year, where he is set to team up with Andre Iguodala Jr., the son of NBA Champion and NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala.

A native of New Orleans, LA, the No. 2 power forward in the 2025 class has yet to take an official visit to any of the aforementioned schools, although he did spent time at both LSU and Houston unofficially. He is aiming to make his choice in the first few months of 2025, making it very possible Bruce Pearl and the Tigers host him on an official visit at some point during the first half of the season.

With Johni Broome and Dylan Cardwell entering their final year of eligibility and the Auburn front court depth murky behind them, Bruce Pearl and his staff could make a serious push to land Cenac as the 2024 comes to a close.
