The Chicago White Sox (33-21) and Cleveland Indians (29-24) play the third game of a four-game set Tuesday. First pitch at Progressive Field is set for 6:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the White Sox vs. Indians odds with MLB picks and predictions.

2021 series: Tied 5-5

The AL Central rivals split a doubleheader Monday with the White Sox taking the opener 8-6 in eight innings and the Indians winning the nightcap 3-1.

RHP Dylan Cease is projected to start for Chicago Tuesday. He is 3-1 with a 2.98 ERA (51 1/3 IP, 17 ER), 1.27 WHIP, 11.6 K/9 and 4.6 BB/9 in 10 starts this season.

  • Last outing: Win, 6 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 10 K in 5-1 home decision vs. Baltimore Orioles Thursday
  • Career vs. Indians: 1-1, 5.14 ERA (14 IP, 8 ER), 1.43 WHIP, 7 BB, 16 K in 3 starts

RHP Shane Bieber is the Indians’ projected starter. He is 5-3 with a 3.13 ERA (72 IP, 25 ER), 1.21 WHIP, 13.8 K/9 and 3.4 BB/9 in 11 starts.

  • Over/Under: 7 (O: -120 | U: +100)

Prediction

White Sox 4, Indians 3

Money line (ML)

If you follow sports enough you know favorites don’t always win. Cleveland ace Bieber is one of the best pitchers in baseball, but the value is in the WHITE SOX (+130) here, making them my STRONGEST PLAY – 1½ times your usual wager.

Sure, Bieber is 2-0 vs. Chicago this year, but he was 1-2 with a 3.96 ERA (36 1/3 IP, 16 ER) the previous two seasons. So, it’s not like he’s invincible.

I’ll take my chances with WHITE SOX (+130), who are 12 games over .500 and outscoring opponents by an AL-best 80 runs.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

PASS. While I like the White Sox to win, I’m not willing to play a run line with -165 juice. I’ll stick with the ML.

ATS records: White Sox 31-23 | Indians 29-24

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS. Under bettors have been cashing in on the White Sox – the Under is 13-5 in their last 18 games. However, the projected score hits the O/U 7 line on the nose.

O/U records: White Sox 23-31 | Indians 27-24-2

St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago White Sox odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago White Sox odds and lines, with MLB picks and predictions.

The St. Louis Cardinals (26-22) and Chicago White Sox (28-19) tangle in the final game of their three-game interleague set Wednesday at 2:10 p.m. ET at Guaranteed Rate Field. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the Cardinals vs. White Sox odds with MLB picks and predictions.

RHP John Gant is the projected starting pitcher for the Cardinals. He is 3-3 with a 2.04 ERA, 1.56 WHIP, 7.3 K/9 and 6.4 BB/9 over 39 2/3 IP through 8 starts.

Gant has negotiated his way around that high walk rate to give the Cards 5-plus innings in six of his eight starts. He has benefited, though, from a low 3.6% rate of fly balls landing as home runs.

LHP Carlos Rodon is the projected starter for the White Sox. He is 5-1 with a 1.27 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, 13.1 K/9 and 2.5 BB/9 through 42 2/3 IP over 7 starts.

Cardinals at White Sox odds, lines, picks and prediction

MLB odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated at 9:05 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Cardinals +165 (bet $100 to win $165) | White Sox -200 (bet $200 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Cardinals +1.5 (-120) | White Sox -1.5 (+100)
  • Over/Under: 8.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Prediction

White Sox 6, Cardinals 3

Money line (ML)

Chicago is the hotter team, and the White Sox offense has put together a .791 OPS over the last 15 games. The straight play here has gotten pricier since the market opened, but CHICAGO (-200) is still a likable play.

It’s a play bullish on Rodon and the ChiSox’s bullpen and bearish on Gant and the Redbirds’ ‘pen.

FANTASY BASEBALL: Serious about winning your league? Sign up for BaseballHQ.com to dominate the competition. Subscribe now!

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The White Sox took the first two games of the series by a combined 13-4 score. They are 7-2 over their last 9 home games, and six of those wins were by multiple runs.

The Pale Hose lead the AL Central, but they have underperformed their 5.1 runs per game and 3.6 RPG allowed. So, peg Chicago’s .596 win percentage as underselling what could well be a .630 team. Mix in a quality starter in Rodon and a top-five bullpen (with a mostly available back end), and Chicago becomes a heavy lean.

With Gant perhaps too far over his skis with a 2.04 ERA (so is Rodon, but to a much lesser degree) and with a Redbird relief corps getting by with a .721 batting average on balls in play and a generous home run/fly ball rate, St. Louis becomes a fade in the equation. Early line movement has cut into some profitability on the money line.

BACK THE WHITE SOX -1.5 (+100).

Over/Under (O/U)

Fading both starters and the Cards’ bullpen makes for an Over lean but consider holding out for an evenly-priced 8 (-110) or PASS.

Chicago White Sox at New York Yankees odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Chicago White Sox at New York Yankees odds and lines, with MLB picks and predictions.

The New York Yankees (27-19) go for a three-game sweep when they host the Chicago White Sox (26-18) in their series final at Yankee Stadium Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the Astros vs. Rangers odds with MLB picks and predictions.

Season series: Yankees 2-0.

LHP Dallas Keuchel gets his 10th start for the White Sox. Keuchel is 3-1 with a 4.44 ERA (50 2/3 IP, 25 ER), 1.22 WHIP, 2.7 BB/9 and 4.3 K/9 this year.

  • Last outing: Win, 16-4, in 7 IP with 3 ER, 7 H, 0 BB and 6 K Monday at the Minnesota Twins.
  • Career vs. the Yankees: 4-4 with a 2.22 ERA (56 2/3 IP, 14 ER), 0.92 WHIP and 9.1 K/9 across eight starts (last start in 2018).
    • Vs. Yankees on the current roster: 132 at-bats with a .167/.233/.295 slash line, 38/10 K/BB, 4 HR and 13 RBIs.

RHP Jameson Taillon is the projected starter for the Yankees. Taillon is 1-3 with a 5.73 ERA (37 2/3 IP, 24 ER), 1.27 WHIP, 2.4 BB/9 and 11.0 K/9 over eight starts.

  • Last outing: No-decision in 4 1/3 IP with 4 ER, 6 H, 2 BB and 3 K in New York’s 7-4 win at the Texas Rangers Tuesday.
  • Career vs. the White Sox: No-decision in 5 2/3 IP with 2 ER, 5 H, 3 BB and 5 K in one start (2018).

  • Against the spread/ATS: White Sox +1.5 (-160) | Yankees -1.5 (+135)
  • Over/Under: 9 (O: -120 | U: +100)

Prediction

Yankees 5, White Sox 3

Money line (ML)

Despite having to lay it with New York, there is some value in the YANKEES (-145) because they are starting to play like the American League favorite everyone expected them to be, and the advanced pitching metrics favor Taillon.

For instance, since falling below .500, this is New York’s seventh straight series win, and they’re 1.5 games back of the Boston Red Sox in the AL East.

Also, this hasn’t been the start Taillon was hoping to have in Pinstripes. But there are signs of progression coming, and his Statcast numbers are slightly above-average.

Taillon’s xFIP and SIERA are lower than his ERA, and those metrics are better indicators of a pitcher’s true form than the dated ERA stat. He also grades in the 64th percentile or better in whiff rate, chase rate and K%.

FANTASY BASEBALL: Serious about winning your league? Sign up for BaseballHQ.com to dominate the competition. Subscribe now!

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

PASS because Chicago is still one of the best three teams in the AL, Keuchel has always pitched well against the Yankees dating back to his time with the Houston Astros, and New York’s lineup is still middling in production.

Over/Under (O/U)

Slight “LEAN” to the UNDER 9 (+100) for a one-third unit because I’m expecting Taillon to keep the momentum as he picked up his first win in his last outing and needs to stack quality outings to keep his spot in the rotation.

Furthermore, Keuchel’s numbers vs. this Yankees lineup are terrific, and his biggest nemesis on the Yankees isn’t even in the lineup.

Giancarlo Stanton is sidelined with a quadriceps injury. Stanton has a lifetime .444 batting average with two home runs and five RBIs vs. Keuchel.

Chicago White Sox at New York Yankees odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Chicago White Sox at New York Yankees odds and lines, with MLB picks and predictions.

The Chicago White Sox (26-17) and the New York Yankees (26-19) continue their three-game set Saturday in Yankee Stadium at 1:05 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the Astros vs. Rangers odds with MLB picks and predictions.

New York won its fourth straight and the first game of the series, 2-1, in what was an awesome starting pitcher’s duel that Yankees 2B Gleyber Torres disrupted by going 2-for-4 with a game-tying solo home run in the bottom of the 7th then a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 9th.

Season series: Yankees 1-0.

RHP Dylan Cease is on the mound for the White Sox. Cease is 2-0 with a 2.41 ERA (41 IP, 11 ER), 1.22 WHIP, 4.4 BB/9 and 11.0 K/9 over eight starts.

  • Last outing: No-decision in 5 2/3 IP with 0 ER, 3 H, 3 BB and 3 K in Chicago’s 4-3 win Sunday vs. the Kansas City Royals.
  • Career vs. the Yankees: No appearances.

RHP Gerrit Cole makes his 10th start for the Yankees. Cole is 5-2 with a 2.03 ERA (57 2/3 IP, 13 ER), 0.78 WHIP, 0.8 BB/9 and 13.3 K/9 this season.

  • Last outing: Loss, 5-2, in 5 IP with 5 ER, 7 H, 2 BB and 7 K at the Texas Rangers Monday.
  • Career vs. the White Sox: 1-1 with a 6.00 ERA (12 IP, 8 ER), 1.17 WHIP and 8.3 K/9 across two starts (last start was in 2019).
    • Vs. White Sox on the current roster: 83 at-bats with a .289/.337/.506 slash line, 23/6 K/BB, 4 HR and 7 RBIs.

MLB betting offers/promotions

BetMGM Sportsbook offers available in CO, IA, IN, MI, NJ, PA, TN, VA and WV. New customer offers, terms and conditions apply.

White Sox at Yankees odds, lines, picks and prediction

MLB odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated at 7:30 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: White Sox +165 (bet $100 to win $165) | Yankees -200 (bet $200 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: White Sox +1.5 (-125) | Yankees -1.5 (+105)
  • Over/Under: 7.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Prediction

Yankees 6, White Sox 2

Money line (ML)

PASS even though New York is the right side and has one of the three best pitchers in all of baseball on the hill because the Yankees (-200) is just out of my price range.

Also, the White Sox have hit Cole well in the two times they’ve faced him; however, given Cole’s rough outing earlier this week vs. the lowly Rangers, he should be dialed in for this meeting against an AL Central-leading White Sox.

FANTASY BASEBALL: Serious about winning your league? Sign up for BaseballHQ.com to dominate the competition. Subscribe now!

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

Cole’s record is far worse than it should be considering he’s leading the majors with a 1.64 FIP (fielder independent pitching), which is a far better indicator of how a pitcher is performing than your standard ERA.

And while Cease’s stuff has been electric to start the year, Cole is expected to be a Cy Young finalist and the Yankees should do enough against Cease to get their ace another W.

Since both lineups and bullpens are among the top units in baseball, but Cole is the difference maker in this handicap, I’m BETTING the YANKEES -0.5 (-125) FIRST 5 INNINGS for 1 unit.

Over/Under (O/U)

Slight “LEAN” to the UNDER 7.5 (-110) for a quarter unit if at all because I’m leery of fading these talented lineups, but the Yankees have scored just two runs in four of their last five games and have scored three or fewer runs in six of Cole’s nine previous starts.

Minnesota Twins at Chicago White Sox odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Tuesday’s Minnesota Twins at Chicago White Sox odds and lines, with MLB picks and predictions.

The Minnesota Twins (12-20) roll into the Windy City Tuesday for their first three-game set this season with the Chicago White Sox (19-13) at Guaranteed Rate Field. First pitch is scheduled for 8:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the Twins vs. White Sox with MLB picks and predictions.

Minnesota has been off the past two days after its game against the Detroit Tigers Sunday was rained out. The Twins, who are 5-5 in their last 10 games, split the two games they did play the Tigers after dropping three of four with the Texas Rangers.

Chicago just pummeled the Kansas City Royals in a three-game sweep, outscoring them 21-4 for the series, and has won seven of its last 10 games.

RHP Kenta Maeda gets the start for the Twins. Maeda is 2-2 with a 5.02 ERA (28 2/3 IP, 16 ER), 1.54 WHIP, 2.2 BB/9 and 8.8 K/9 across 6 starts.

  • Last outing: Win, 6-5, in 5 1/3 IP with 0 ER, 2 H, 2 BB and 8 K vs. the Rangers May 3.
  • Career vs. the White Sox: 2-0 with a 3.00 ERA (15 IP, 5 ER), 1.07 WHIP and 10.2 K/9 over 3 starts, all in Chicago’s ballpark.
    • Vs. White Sox on the current roster: 71 at-bats with a .254/.303/.493 slash line, 16/5 K/BB rate, 4 HR and 9 RBIs.

RHP Dylan Cease is on the rubber for the White Sox. Cease is 2-0 with a 2.37 ERA (30 1/3 IP, 8 ER), 1.22 WHIP, 4.5 BB/9 and 11.9 K/9 over 6 starts.

  • Last outing: Win, 9-0, in 6 IP with 0 ER, 1 H, 3 BB and 11 K at the Cincinnati Reds May 4.
  • Career vs. the Twins: 0-2 with a 10.80 ERA (11 2/3 IP, 14 ER), 2.66 WHIP and 8.5 K/9 in 3 starts.
    • Vs. Twins on the current roster: 35 at-bats with a .371/.465/.571 slash line, 6/7 K/BB rate, 2 HR and 10 RBIs.

Twins at White Sox odds, lines, picks and prediction

MLB odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated at 7:14 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Twins +105 (bet $100 to win $105) | White Sox -125 (bet $125 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Twins +1.5 (-200) | White Sox -1.5 (+165)
  • Over/Under: 8.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Prediction

White Sox 5, Twins 2

Money line (ML)

GIMME the WHITE SOX (-125) for 1 unit because Cease has looked much better thus far than Maeda, and Chicago has a significant edge in bullpen pitching.

Maeda’s pitching has seen some serious regression year over year. His K% has dropped 11.1%, his hard-hit rate has increased by 20% and his wOBA increased 168 percentage points from this year to last.

The opposite is true for Cease, whose numbers have improved year over year. Statcast grades Cease in the 85th percentile of both chase rate and K%, 74th percentile in expected wOBA and 79th percentile in expected slugging percentage.

Furthermore, Minnesota’s lineup should be a tad easier to navigate since the Twins’ most productive hitter—OF Byron Buxton—is on the 10-day IL.

Also, Chicago’s bullpen ranks seventh in WAR, fifth in FIP and the fewest runs scored per nine, whereas Minnesota’s relievers have been credited with the most losses and are 26th in FIP and 28th in WAR.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

PASS because Maeda has pitched well against the White Sox -1.5 (+165) and Cease has gotten roughed up in his three starts vs. the Twins +1.5 (-200).

Over/Under (O/U)

“LEAN” to the UNDER 8.5 (-110) because I think Maeda gets on track sooner than later and I am a believer that Cease’s recent form is closer to the pitcher he’ll be moving forward.

Chicago White Sox at Kansas City Royals odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Friday’s Chicago White Sox at Kansas City Royals odds and lines, with MLB picks and predictions.

The Chicago White Sox (16-13) meet the AL Central rival Kansas City Royals (16-14) Friday at Kauffman Stadium for the first game of a three-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 8:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the White Sox vs. Royals odds with MLB picks and predictions.

Chicago has alternated between winning and losing its past six games and is 6-4 in its previous 10 games while Kansas City has lost five straight and is 3-7 over its last 10.

The season series is tied 1-1 but the White Sox owned the Royals in 2020 by going 9-1 in their head-to-head meetings.

LHP Carlos Rodón gets the start for the White Sox. He is 4-0 with an 0.72 ERA (25 IP, 2 ER), 0.64 WHIP, 3.2 BB/9 and 13.0 K/9 over 4 starts.

  • Last outing: Win in 6 IP with 1 ER, 2 H, 1 BB and 12 K vs. the Detroit Tigers last Thursday.
  • Career vs. Royals: 2-3 with a 3.69 ERA (39 IP, 16 ER), 1.49 WHIP and 8.8 K/9 over 7 starts.

RHP Brad Keller is the projected starter for the Royals. He is 2-3 with an 8.06 ERA (22 1/3 IP, 20 ER), 2.15 WHIP, 4.8 BB/9 and 6.4 K/9 across 6 starts.

  • Last outing: Loss in 4 1/3 IP with 2 ER, 6 H, 1 BB and 3 K at the Minnesota Twins Sunday.
  • Career vs. White Sox: 4-4 with a 3.62 ERA (59 2/3 IP, 24 ER), 1.39 WHIP and 7.2 K/9 in 10 starts and 3 relief appearances.

White Sox at Royals odds, lines, picks and prediction

MLB odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated at 10:55 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: White Sox -160 (bet $160 to win $100) | Royals +135 (bet $100 to win $135)
  • Against the spread/ATS: White Sox -1.5 (+100) | Royals +1.5 (-120)
  • Over/Under: 8 (O: -120 | U: +100)

Prediction

White Sox 5, Royals 2

Money line (ML)

PASS because I’m confident enough taking Chicago in this spot that I’ll be greedy and not eat the vig for the White Sox (-160).

It’s not out of my price range and I’d entertain including the White Sox’s money line in a parlay, but I’d rather load up on Chicago’s run line

FANTASY BASEBALL: Serious about winning your league? Sign up for BaseballHQ.com to dominate the competition. Subscribe now!

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

GIMME the WHITE SOX -1.5 (+100) for 1 unit because of their massive edge in the starting pitching matchup and Chicago’s second-best 18-10 run line record as a road favorite since the beginning of last season.

Rodón has been filthy this year and is more effective on six or more days rest. Statcast grades Rodón in the 90-plus percentile in K%, whiff%, expected slugging percentage and expected wOBA.

Also, Rodón has a lower ERA, WHIP and opponent’s slash line when pitching on six or more days rest compared to his other rest splits.

Conversely, Keller has been dreadful this season and is far less effective on four days of rest.

Statcast grades Keller in the single-digit percentile in K%, expected wOBA and expected slugging percentage, and the 35th percentile in hard-hit rate.

And, on four days of rest, Keller’s winning percentage, WHIP and ERA are the worst compared to his other rest splits.

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS because Rodón has been better than Keller this season but Keller’s numbers vs. the White Sox are more impressive than Rodón’s against the Royals.

Also, Chicago’s lineup is predictably good but is missing some big bats and Kansas City’s lineup is surprisingly average.

The bottom line is I don’t have a good enough handicap on this total and these teams have a combined 5-5 O/U record this season when these two starters are on the mound.

Detroit Tigers at Chicago White Sox Game 1 odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s Detroit Tigers at Chicago White Sox odds and lines, with MLB picks and predictions.

The Detroit Tigers (8-16) and Chicago White Sox (12-10) continue their AL Central series with a Thursday doubleheader at Guaranteed Rate Field. The first pitch of Game 1 is slated for 5:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the Tigers vs. White Sox odds with MLB picks and predictions.

RHP Casey Mize is the projected starting pitcher for the Tigers. He is 1-2 with a 5.23 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, 6.1 K/9 and 3.0 BB/9 through 20 2/3 IP over 4 starts. Mize has allowed 17 base runners, 5 home runs and 11 earned runs over his last two starts totaling 9 2/3 IP.

LHP Carlos Rodon is the projected starter for the White Sox. He is 3-0 with a 0.47 ERA, 0.68 WHIP, 11.4 K/9 and 3.8 BB/9 in 19 IP spanning 3 starts. Rodon struggled with control (5 walks) in his follow-up to his April 14 no-hitter, both against the Cleveland Indians.

Tigers at Chicago White Sox odds, lines, picks and prediction

MLB odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated at 2:15 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Tigers +165 (bet $100 to win $165) | White Sox -200 (bet $200 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Tigers +1.5 (-140) | White Sox -1.5 (+115)
  • Over/Under: 6 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Prediction

White Sox 4, Tigers 2

Money line (ML)

The Tigers took Tuesday’s series opener 5-2 to notch just their second win since April 14. The Detroit offense owns an anemic .551 OPS over the 12-game span. Wednesday’s contest was rained out.

Look for good things from Rodon in this spot. Velocity is up significantly, and his three-start swinging-strike rate is a tidy 16.0%. The Tigers have flailed their way to a .498 OPS against lefty pitching.

The WHITE SOX (-200) are a decent play.

FANTASY BASEBALL: Serious about winning your league? Sign up for BaseballHQ.com to dominate the competition. Subscribe now!

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The ChiSox bullpen figures to be much better than its 4.62 surface ERA would indicate. Peg the ATS play with more value than the money line.

BACK THE WHITE SOX -1.5 (+115).

Over/Under (O/U)

As a part of a twin bill, keep in mind the total here is for a 7-inning game. Thursday’s forecast calls for temps in the mid-50s and a breeze out to right-center. There’s a bit of an Under lean with a feeling the Chicago bullpen is underrated. The Tigers offense is legitimately awful and the Under is 16-7-1 in their games.

On the number and the price, the Under 6 (-110) lean is razor-thin, actionable perhaps only as a partial unit play.

Detroit Tigers at Chicago White Sox odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Tuesday’s Detroit Tigers at Chicago White Sox odds and lines, with MLB picks and predictions.

The Detroit Tigers (7-16) and Chicago White Sox (12-9) tangle in the first game of an AL Central series Tuesday at Guaranteed Rate Field. First pitch will be thrown at 8:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the Tigers vs. White Sox odds with MLB picks and predictions.

RHP Jose Urena is the projected starting pitcher for the Tigers. He is 0-3 with a 4.57 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 7.9 K/9 and 5.0 BB/9 through 21 2/3 IP over 4 starts this season. Urena exhibited spotty control over his first two starts, but he has since rebounded to allow just 4 ER over 14 IP in his last two outings.

RHP Lucas Giolito is the projected starter for the White Sox. He is 1-1 with a 5.79 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, 12.5 K/9 and 3.4 BB/9 through 18 2/3 IP spanning 4 starts. Gioloto was rocked in his last start for 7 ER in just 1 IP at the Boston Red Sox. That start was April 19; the Chicago righty has been dealing with a cut on the middle finger of his pitching hand.

Tigers at Chicago White Sox odds, lines, picks and prediction

MLB odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated at 11:40 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Tigers +200 (bet $100 to win $200) | White Sox -250 (bet $250 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Tigers +1.5 (+105) | White Sox -1.5 (-125)
  • Over/Under: 8 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Prediction

White Sox 5, Tigers 2

Money line (ML)

Chicago heads into this series on a four-game winning streak. The Pale Hose have won six of their last seven, while scoring 5.6 runs per game along the way on the strength of a .859 team OPS.

Detroit has lost five games in a row and 10 of its last 11 contests. Over those 11 games, the Tigers have averaged 1.8 RPG on a .534 OPS.

The ChiSox have much the better starter, bullpen, and offense in this one. The momentum is a one-way swing as well. The tag, though, feels like paying full freight for a healthy Giolito.

PASS … but Chicago (-250) is the closest lean of the two.

FANTASY BASEBALL: Serious about winning your league? Sign up for BaseballHQ.com to dominate the competition. Subscribe now!

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The Tigers own a toothless .709 OPS against Giolito, and the White Sox hurler is backed by a top-5 bullpen that figures to be much better than its 4.64 surface ERA. It’s also rested after Monday’s off day.

BACK THE WHITE SOX -1.5 (-120).

Over/Under (O/U)

Tuesday’s forecast calls for a warmed-up Chicago and a double-digit breeze out to left field but consider a bet on the UNDER 8 (-110), especially if the price slides toward Over betting as it has in parts of the morning market.

The Tigers lineup against righties typically skews left and won’t figure to leverage the right-pull wind. Urena (and to a moderate degree the Detroit bullpen) does well to keep the ball out of the air. Add in a play on Giolito and the Sox relievers being undersold by their surface numbers.

Cleveland Indians at Chicago White Sox odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Monday’s Cleveland Indians at Chicago White Sox odds and lines, with MLB picks and predictions.

The Cleveland Indians (5-3) and Chicago White Sox (4-5) kick off a four-game AL Central series Monday at 8:10 p.m. ET at Guaranteed Rate Field. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the Indians vs. White Sox odds with MLB picks and predictions.

RHP Triston McKenzie is the projected to make his first start of the season for the Indians, although he did log a long-relief outing April 5 in which he allowed 1 earned run across 3 2/3 innings.

As a rookie who appeared in eight games last season, he went 2-1 with a 3.24 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, 11.3 K/9 and 2.4 BB/9 over 33 1/3 IP.

LHP Carlos Rodon is lined up for his second start of the season for the White Sox. In three starts and two relief appearances over 2020-21, he is 1-2 with a 4.97 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, 10.7 K/9, and 4.3 BB/9 over 12 2/3 IP.

Rodon had a big spring training with 16 strikeouts and just one walk over 13 2/3 IP. He tossed five scoreless innings against the Seattle Mariners in his season debut last Monday.

Indians at White Sox odds, lines, picks and prediction

MLB odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated at 11 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Indians +115 (bet $100 to win $115) | White Sox -140 (bet $140 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Indians +1.5 (-160) | White Sox -1.5 (+135)
  • Over/Under: 8.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Prediction

White Sox 4, Indians 3

Money line (ML)

This series features a White Sox club scoring 5.67 runs per game against an Indians team allowing just 2.75. Cleveland arrives in Chicago with a five-game win streak in tow; the Indians have allowed just nine runs over those victories.

Cleveland pitching won out when these division foes met last summer. The Indians took 8 of 10 games while holding the White Sox to just 3.0 RPG along the way.

The first meeting of 2021 doesn’t offer much betting value on the money line. Cleveland at +120 would be a consideration; Chicago at -130 would be as well. PASS on the bracketing lines the way they are.

FANTASY BASEBALL: Serious about winning your league? Sign up for BaseballHQ.com to dominate the competition. Subscribe now!

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

One of the likable plays right now is the White Sox bullpen. The Pale Hose were a top-10 group a year ago; their current support metrics tell a different story from an early-season 4.99 ERA.

There isn’t much value here, so tread lightly with a CHICAGO -1.5 (+135) play or consider waiting out a better price.

Over/Under (O/U)

A wind-out-to-left-center is expected, but so are some cool temperatures. Bank on the pitching on both sides and some undervaluation of the White Sox relief corps.

TAKE THE UNDER 8.5 (-110).
