Chicago Bulls at Milwaukee Bucks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Chicago Bulls at Milwaukee Bucks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Chicago Bulls (38-41) battle the Milwaukee Bucks (57-22) Wednesday with tip from Fiserv Forum scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Bulls vs. Bucks odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Chicago lost 123-105 against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday failing to cover as a 5.5-point home favorite. The loss snapped a 2-game winning streak. The Bulls are 6-4 straight up and against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 games.  This season, they are 38-38-3 ATS.

Milwaukee took down the Washington Wizards 140-128 on Tuesday, but failed to cover as a 14.5-point road favorite. It has now won back-to-back games and is 7-3 in its last 10. The Bucks are 4-6 ATS in that span and 43-34-2 ATS on the season.

This will be the 4th matchup with Chicago leading the series 2-1. Chicago won and covered as a 7.5-point road favorite in late November and won again while covering as a 2.5-point home favorite in late December. Milwaukee came out victorious and covered as a 7.5-point road favorite in their most recent matchup in mid-February.

Bulls at Bucks picks and predictions

Prediction

Bucks 119, Bulls 111

Moneyline

PASS.

At -275 odds, there is no value on a moneyline play for the Bucks who are 31-8 at home facing a Bulls team that is 17-22 on the road.

Against the spread

LEAN BUCKS -6.5 (-110).

The Bucks have performed well against the spread this season (43-34-2 ATS) and are 22-17 ATS at home and 12-2-1 ATS when playing as a 5-7-point favorite. As the top team in the NBA, the Bucks are looking to close the season strong which will likely  result in a large victory in front of their home crowd.

The Bucks are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Wednesday games while the Bulls are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 Wednesday games.

Over/Under

BET OVER 229.5 (-115).

The Over is 5-1-1 in the Bulls last 7 games, 5-1-1 in their last 7 games when their opponent scores 100 or more points in their previous game, and 3-2 in their last 5 road games.

The over is 4-1 in the Bucks last 5 games, 4-0 in their last 4 games after scoring 100 or more points in their previous game and 24-15 when they play at home this season. The Bucks also rank 5th in pace this season pointing toward their ability to push the ball and score more points, which will ultimately aid the over.

The Over is 2-1 in the 3 previous matchups between the Bulls and Bucks this season.

Bulls at Bucks picks and predictions

Prediction

Bucks 114, Bulls 106

Moneyline

Go ahead and PASS on the moneyline in this game. The Bucks (-290) are favored at home and have won 8 of the last 10 meetings against the Bulls, but taking them straight up at their current odds isn’t worth the risk.

Against the spread

BUCKS -6.5 (-115) is an intriguing wager with F Giannis Antetokounmpo expected to be active despite dealing with a knee issue. Even with the Bulls securing an impressive win over the Celtics Monday, I expect the Bucks to perform well at home Wednesday.

Milwaukee is 6-1 ATS in the team’s last 7 home games against a team with a losing road record and Chicago is 2-6 ATS in its last 8 games against Milwaukee.

Over/Under

Even though I always root for high-scoring games, UNDER 220.5 (-110) seems like the ideal choice in this contest. Both of these teams have a combined 12-21 record to the Under so far this season.

The Under is 7-0 in the last 7 meetings between the Bulls and the Bucks in Milwaukee and the Under is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings overall. Plus, the Bulls are 6-1 to the Under in their last 7 games while the Bucks are 7-0 to the Under in their last 7 games following a win.

Chicago Bulls at Milwaukee Bucks Game 2 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Chicago Bulls at Miwaukee Bucks Game 2 odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Chicago Bulls (0-1) visit Fiserv Forum Wednesday to take on the Milwaukee Bucks (1-0). Tip-off is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Bulls vs. Bucks odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Bucks, who won the 4 regular-season games against Chicago, beat the Bulls 93-86 in Sunday’s Game 1 of their first-round playoff series. It was a brutal showing for both sides as the Bucks shot 40.5% from the field and 26.3% from three while the Bulls shot 32.3% from the field and just 18.9% from deep.

Two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way for Milwaukee scoring 27. C Nikola Vucevic led the Bulls with 24 points, on 27 shots.

The Bucks were 39-44 against the spread (ATS) this season, but they failed to cover in Game 1 as 10.5-point favorites. Milwaukee is 14-24 ATS as a home favorite, the second-worst covering rate in the NBA.

The Bulls are 43-39-1 ATS this season. They are 8-15 as a road underdog, the fifth-worst covering rate in the NBA.

Betting a -550 money line is never good, and similarly, the Bucks are the better side which makes banking on the upset also not a wise play. Pass all around.

Against the spread

LEAN to the BULLS +9.5 (-115).

Beating teams by double digits in the playoffs is not easy, especially when that team has 3 capable scorers.

The Bulls were able to keep the game within single digits and shot under 40% from the field and sub-20% from deep. Those percentages aren’t going to stay that low for the entirety of the series.

The Bulls ranked fourth in 3-point shooting percentage this season. The Bucks ranked 19th in opponents’ 3-point shooting. Chicago is going to start knocking down open looks.

Chicago also takes care of the ball while Milwaukee doesn’t force turnovers. The Bulls were 6th in turnover rate this season while the Bucks’ opponents ranked 27th.

Given the improved shooting likely from the Bulls, the competitiveness of Game 1, and lack of turnovers, I like Chicago to keep things close in Game 2.

Over/Under

BET the OVER 225.5 (-108).

Both these teams ranked in the top 10 in offensive rating and outside the top 10 in defensive rating. With several superstars on both sides of the court, I expect a much higher-scoring battle.

For the Bucks, it was their turnovers. They had 21 yet rank 10th in the league in turnover rate. The Bulls rank in the bottom 10 in forcing turnovers as well.

Both teams have proven stars that are going to rebound and play better than they did in Game 1. Expect an improvement to the mean, and the Over 225.5 (-108) to be a strong play with that in mind.

Chicago Bulls at Milwaukee Bucks Game 1 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Chicago Bulls at Milwaukee Bucks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The 6-seed Chicago Bulls visit Fiserv Forum Sunday to take on the 3-seed Milwaukee Bucks. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Bulls vs. Bucks Game 1 odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Bulls started off the season hot but struggled to stay that way as injuries to G Lonzo Ball and G Alex Caruso derailed their stunning first few months. Chicago is led by F DeMar DeRozan, who is averaging 27.9 points per game.

Chicago ranks 13th with 111.6 points per game and is incredibly efficient, ranking third in field goal shooting (48.0%) and fourth in three-point shooting (36.9%). The Bulls were 42-39-1 against the spread (ATS) this season but just 1-4 ATS over their last five games.

The reigning champion Bucks actually struggled out of the gate. They’ve come alive as of late behind two-time MVP F Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is averaging 29.9 points per game this season. They rank third in points per game (115.5).

Milwaukee was 39-43 ATS this season and 4-4 ATS over its last eight contests.

Against the spread

LEAN to the BUCKS -9.5 (-112).

Favorites were 3-1 ATS Saturday, and the Bucks will come in as the heaviest favorite yet. As we’ve seen throughout the season, this spread is more about Milwaukee’s dominance than Chicago’s ineptness.

However, the Bulls were 0-16 against the top three teams in each conference on March 23, although a late run by the Boston Celtics into second place in the Eastern Conference slightly skewed that stat by season’s end. The Bucks were 4-0 against Chicago and would’ve covered this spread twice.

The Bulls’ record is a bit misleading though as they rank 20th in the NBA in net rating. Their defensive rating without Ball took a major hit, sliding to 23rd in the Association.

The Bulls rank 13th in opponents’ fast-break points while the Bucks sit 3rd in pace. Milwaukee will want to push the ball, and the defensively weak Bulls may have no answer.

It’s a good chunk of points which is why this is just a lean, but the Bucks should win by double figures if they come out as dominant as expected.

Over/Under

LEAN to the OVER 228.5 (-110).

The Bucks were 43-39 O/U this season while the Bulls were 40-41-1 O/U. Milwaukee is going to look to push the pace, and the only way Chicago will be able to keep up is by looking to move the ball quickly as well.

The Bulls have two of the best isolation scorers in the league, so their offense should be to thrive and score. The Bulls rank eighth in true shooting rate.

The two teams’ regular-season matchups would be 2-2 O/U at this total. Again, it’s just a lean, but I’d prefer the OVER 228.5 (-110) here.

Chicago Bulls at Milwaukee Bucks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Chicago Bulls at Milwaukee Bucks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Chicago Bulls (28-15) head to the Cream City Friday for an 8 p.m. ET game against the Milwaukee Bucks (28-19) at Fiserv Forum. Below, we look at the Bulls vs. Bucks odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Chicago snapped a four-game losing skid by upsetting the Cleveland Cavaliers 117-104 as a 3.5-point home underdog Wednesday. The Bulls will be without All-Star SG Zach LaVine and first-year PG Lonzo Ball. Chicago is 25-18 against the spread (ATS) and 22-20-1 Over/Under (O/U).

Milwaukee took care of business by beating the Memphis Grizzlies 126-114 Wednesday, covering as a 6.5-point home favorite and ending a two-game slide. The Bucks are 21-26 ATS and 20-27 O/U.

Bulls at Bucks odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Bucks 126, Bulls 107

Money line

PASS because Milwaukee is obviously the right side but the Bucks (-500) is way too expensive for an NBA regular-season money line favorite.

Plus Milwaukee is 13-6 SU as a home favorite, Chicago is 3-7 SU as a road underdog and the Bulls are missing several starters including All-Star LaVine.

Against the spread

BET the BUCKS -10.5 (-107) for 1 unit because Milwaukee is ranked in the top-10 of defensive efficiency and Chicago really struggles against good defenses.

For example, the Bulls are 4-10 straight-up (SU) versus teams with a top-10 adjusted defensive rating with a minus-9.6 points per 100 possessions (ranked 22nd) and a minus-6.4 ATS margin (ranked 29th), according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

Milwaukee is also good at keeping opponents off the free-throw line, which matters against a Chicago team, and Bulls wing DeMar DeRozan in particular, that thrive by getting to the charity stripe.

Chicago’s offensive free-throw rate increases by 5.5% when DeRozan is on the floor, which grades in the 94th percentile of wings, per CTG.

However, the Bucks are sixth in adjusted defensive free-throw rate and have plenty of wings to throw out DeRozan such as PF Giannis Antetokounmpo and SF Khris Middleton.

On top of that, Milwaukee matches up well with Chicago, stylistically. For instance, the Bucks are fifth in 3-point attempt rate and the Bulls rank 25th in defensive 3-point percentage.

Furthermore, according to ShotQuality.com, Milwaukee’s offense ranks fourth in shot quality off of catch-and-shoot 3-pointers and eighth from off-the-dribble 3-pointers.

Whereas Chicago’s defense ranks 24th in shot quality allowed against off-the-dribble 3-pointers and 20th against catch-and-shoot 3-pointers (ShotQuality.com).

Finally, this is a better spot for Milwaukee because the Bucks are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games versus teams with a 60.0% winning percentage or better, while the Bulls are 3-5 ATS on the road versus teams with a winning record and 4-6 ATS as road underdogs.

BET the BUCKS -10.5 (-107).

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the OVER 227.5 (-108) for a one-third unit because the Bulls are 4-0-1 O/U in the last five games, the Bucks are 8-2 O/U in their last 10 games as home favorites and we already discussed Chicago’s poor recent defense versus Milwaukee’s aggressive 3-point shooting.

My hesitancy with the OVER 227.5 (-108) is Chicago’s starting backcourt all lower the frequency of transition offense the Bulls play, Chicago is 2-7-1 O/U as a road underdog and the Bucks are 9-10 O/U as home favorites.

Chicago Bulls at Milwaukee Bucks odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Chicago Bulls at Milwaukee Bucks NBA betting odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Chicago Bulls (2-3) visit the Milwaukee Bucks (2-3) Friday at 8 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Bulls-Bucks NBA betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

After an 0-3 start, the Bulls took two on the road from the winless Washington Wizards (0-5), including Thursday’s 133-130 victory as 7.5-point underdogs. SF Otto Porter scored 28 points and SG Zach LaVine added 22 for a short-handed Chicago squad. PF Lauri Markkanen, SF Chandler Hutchison, PG Ryan Arcidiacono and SG Tomas Satoransky sat out due to the NBA’s health and safety protocol.

The Bucks are coming off a 119-108 road loss as 6.5-point favorites at the Miami Heat Wednesday, one night after routing the Heat 144-97 behind an NBA-record 29 3-pointers. In the loss, Milwaukee blew a third-quarter, 12-point lead, PF Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded a triple-double (26 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists) and SF Khris Middleton struggled on 3-for-15 shooting to finish with 8 points. Middleton scored 25 in Tuesday’s blowout, going 10-for-13 from the floor, including 4-for-5 on 3-pointers.

Milwaukee swept last season’s series vs. Chicago 4-0, winning by margins of 9, 14, 21 and 13. As a matter of fact, the Bucks have won the last 10 in a row vs. the Bulls, sweeping 4 games in 2018-19, too, and taking the final two of their four head-to-head games in 2017-18.

Bulls at Bucks: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Bucks 131, Bulls 111

Money line (ML)

PASS. The Bucks (-2000) shouldn’t have a problem taking this one, but there’s no way anyone should risk 20 times the potential return.

Against the spread (ATS)

MILWAUKEE -14.5 (-110) is the STRONGEST PLAY – 1½ times your usual wager. The Bucks are rested and should be a little bitter after Wednesday’s loss in Miami.

As for the Bulls? Playing on back-to-back nights minus four players and having to travel from D.C. to Milwaukee after Thursday night’s win is a tough task for any team. While they played well at Washington, notching two wins, expect them to run out of gas in the second half at Milwaukee.

ATS records: Bulls 3-2 | Bucks 2-3

Over/Under (O/U)

This could turn into a laugher, but the scoring shouldn’t be an issue. Back the OVER 231.5 (-115). The Bucks’ 124.2 points per game rank second in the league, while the Bulls defense is allowing 123.0 PPG to rank 28th.

O/U records: Bulls 3-2 | Bucks 4-1
