Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Charlotte Hornets (20-45) are scheduled to take on the Brooklyn Nets (35-28) Sunday at Barclays Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Hornets vs. Nets odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Hornets couldn’t cover as 4-point home underdogs in Friday’s 117-106 loss to the Orlando Magic. Charlotte has lost 2 straight games since G LaMelo Ball was ruled out for the rest of the season.

The Nets overcame a 28-point deficit to defeat the Boston Celtics 115-105 and cover as 10-point road underdogs Friday. Brooklyn snapped a 4-game losing streak with its win over Boston.

Hornets at Nets picks and predictions

Prediction

Nets 118, Hornets 106

Moneyline

AVOID.

While the Nets should take care of business at home, you won’t be able to get them at odds that are worth taking straight up.

Against the spread

NETS -7.5 (-105) feels like the correct choice after Brooklyn’s impressive comeback win over Boston. The Nets are trying to hold onto the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference, and the Hornets have lost each of their last 2 games without Ball by 11-plus points.

Charlotte is 1-7 ATS in its last 8 games following a loss, while Brooklyn is 7-2 ATS in its last 9 home games.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 227.5 (-115).

The Hornets are struggling to score without Ball on the floor, and the Nets are playing at a slower pace since trading F Kevin Durant and G Kyrie Irving. Charlotte has gone Under in 6 straight games, and the Under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings.

Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Charlotte Hornets (7-17) meet the Brooklyn Nets (13-12) Wednesday at Barclays Center. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Hornets vs. Nets odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Hornets hit the road after a 119-117 home loss against the Los Angeles Clippers last time out on Monday. Charlotte is still a respectable 3-3 SU across the past 6 outings while going 5-2-1 against the spread (ATS) across the past 8 games.

The Nets topped the Hornets 98-94 on Nov. 5 in Charlotte as the Under (223) easily connected. Brooklyn heads in with a 4-1 record across its last 5 games, although it is just 2-3-1 ATS across its last 6 outings. The Under has hit in 5 games in a row for the Nets.

Hornets at Nets picks and predictions

Prediction

Nets 113, Hornets 108

Moneyline

The Nets (-525) will cost you over 5 times your potential return on the moneyline, and that’s just too expensive. Brooklyn has been too erratic this season and even if it wasn’t there would be no value in playing a heavy favorite like that for such little return.

AVOID.

Against the spread

The HORNETS +9.5 (-110) are worth a look and should be able to keep this one within single digits.

Charlotte has lost in regulation by double digits just once in the past 8 games, and it fell by just 2 buckets in the first meeting against Brooklyn in early Nov.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 221.5 (-110), as the Nets are all about the Under lately.

The Under is 5-0 in the last 5 games at home for Brooklyn and 5-0 in its last 5 games overall.

While the Over has dominated for the Hornets lately, going 12-4 in the past 16 road games, the Under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in this series.

Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets Team odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Charlotte Hornets (38-36) venture out for a one-game road trip when they face the Brooklyn Nets (39-35) Sunday. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m. ET at Barclays Center. Below, we look at the Hornets vs. Nets odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Hornets just wrapped up a 4-1 homestand and have son six of their last seven games. They find themselves in ninth place in the Eastern Conference, just a game behind the Nets for eighth place. Charlotte is four games behind the sixth-placed Toronto Raptors, who occupy the final guaranteed playoff spot, with 10 games remaining.

The Nets have won seven of their last nine games overall. They get a boost for their final home games as G Kyrie Irving will make his home debut, now eligible to play after the COVID-19 mandate was lifted in New York. Brooklyn has a one-game lead over the Hornets. The Nets trail the seventh-place Cleveland Cavaliers by two games and the sixth-placed Raptors by three games with eight games left in their regular season.

Hornets at Nets odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Nets 125, Hornets 117

Money line

The Hornets are 18-18 away from home this season but have won their last three road contests. They beat the Nets 111-95 Oct. 24 in Brooklyn and lost to 132-121 to them at home March 8.

The Nets have won four of their last five games in which Irving has played. They will get a boost with him playing at home for the first time this season. He has scored over 40 points in three of his last five games.

The Nets should come away with this game but the price isn’t worth the wager. PASS on the money line unless you are using it as part of a parlay bet.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

The Hornets have been relatively consistent against the spread this season. They are 40-32-2 ATS overall and have covered the spread 20 times each at home and on the road. They are 6-4 ATS in their last 10 games.

The Nets have been dreadful against the spread at home at 9-25-1 ATS, but on the road — when they had Irving in the lineup mostly — they are 22-16-1 ATS. They also are 6-4 ATS in their last 10 games.

I LEAN NETS -6.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The Nets have averaged 122.4 points per game over their last 10 contests.

The Hornets are scoring 118.6 points per game since the All-Star break.

Their last matchup against one another had a total of 253 points.

Expect the same sort of pace tonight. Take OVER 238.5 (-108).

Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

In an action-packed Sunday, the Charlotte Hornets (2-0) visit the Brooklyn Nets (1-1). The game will tip at 4 p.m. ET and will be held at the Barclays Center. Below, we look at the Hornets at Nets odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Nets, after visiting the Bucks and the Sixers, will finally be at home. After being down most of their last outing, SF Kevin Durant came back and covered the spread. The Nets are 1-1 against the spread.

PF LaMarcus Aldridge put up 23 with Durant leading their win over the Sixers. They’ll be heavy favorites at home against a LaMelo Ball-led Hornets.

The Hornets took down the Pacers and then the Cavaliers. They may be without PG Terry Rozier while the Nets will still not have PG Kyrie Irving as he’s out indefinitely.

Hornets at Nets odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Nets 116, Hornets 112

Money line

PASS on the money line.

The Nets are good, and they should come out on top, but I’m staying away from any regular-season NBA team that’s -475 on a money line. The value just isn’t there.

Against the spread

BET to the HORNETS +9.5 (-115) as they’ve been solid so far this season. It gets a little juice as well, likely with the Terry Rozier questionable tag looming large over the Hornets offense.

Even without Rozier, Ball is still among the rising stars in the league. SF Miles Bridges has also been productive. With Kelly Oubre Jr. and PJ Washington helping give capable depth, the Hornets have an underrated roster, one that should be able to hang with Brooklyn’s veterans.

Having taken down a solid Pacers team and with a double-figure win over the Cavs, I’m not backing the Hornets to win, but I would back them not to lose by ten.

The Nets are good, but they struggled for most of their game with Philly and were blown out by the Bucks. They’re not quite as in sync as Brooklyn fans would’ve hoped for.

They should come out on top but not by double figures.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the UNDER 233.5 (-110) as the better bet. Both teams like to score, but with Kevin Durant on one side of the court, Bridges likely won’t get 30 against the Nets.

233 is just too many points to back, especially with the Hornets having some young and inconsistent personnel on their bench. We’ve also seen streakiness from James Harden and Joe Harris.

While points should be scored, the Nets have yet to top 115. Their defense also held the Sixers to under 110. I’m expecting at least some defense to be played which should allow the Under to hit.

Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Charlotte Hornets (27-27) are on the road Friday night to visit the Brooklyn Nets (37-18) at Barclays Center. Tip-off in Brooklyn will be at 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Hornets-Nets odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Hornets are as banged-up as anyone in the NBA right now and have lost three straight games, falling to the Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers. PG LaMelo Ball remains out, and he has been joined by SF Gordon Hayward, SG Malik Monk and PG Devonte’ Graham on the sidelines.

The Hornets remain in the mix in the Eastern Conference, but they need to turn it around quickly if they’re to make a playoff push.

The Nets, on the other hand, are trending in the opposite direction. They’re healthier now than they have been recently, getting SF Kevin Durant back April 7. They fell 123-117 to the Philadelphia 76ers Wednesday with Durant getting the night off, but they won seven of nine games before that loss.

Hornets at Nets: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Nets 125, Hornets 110

Money line (ML)

With the Nets being so heavily favored, I wouldn’t touch the money line. At -750, it’s not worth putting down even a small wager, even as injured as the Hornets are.

PASS.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The Hornets failed to cover in each of their last three games. They lost to the Hawks and Cavs as slight favorites and lost by 8 points to the Lakers this week. The Nets covered in three of their last four games and although the spread is huge at 12.5 points, I like them to do it again.

Bet the NETS -12.5 (-110) to win by at least 13 points at home, where they’re 22-7 straight up this season.

Over/Under (O/U)

The total went Over in four of the Nets’ last five games. They won’t have C LaMarcus Aldridge defending the paint after the star retired Thursday due to an irregular heartbeat, but they will have Durant and PG Kyrie Irving on the floor.

Bet the OVER 222.5 (-110).

Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Thursday’s Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

Riding a three-game winning streak, the Brooklyn Nets (33-15) will host the Charlotte Hornets (24-22) at the Barclays Center, with tip-off set for 7:35 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Hornets-Nets odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Nets are an impressive 8-2 in their last 10 games, including wins against the Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers and New York Knicks. They remain one of the top teams in the East, but with SF Kevin Durant still sidelined and SG James Harden now battling hamstring tightness, they could be missing key players tonight.

The Hornets have survived PG LaMelo Ball‘s (wrist) absence thus far, winning four of their last five games, but the Nets are a real test for this resilient and young team. They’ll have to continue shooting it well from 3-point range to keep up with the high-scoring Nets.

Hornets at Nets: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 12:15 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Hornets +135 (bet $100 to win $135) | Nets -160 (bet $160 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Hornets +3.5 (-110) | Nets -3.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 224.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Hornets at Nets: Key injuries

Hornets

  • SG Malik Monk (foot) probable
  • PG LaMelo Ball (wrist) out indefinitely

Nets

  • SG James Harden (hamstring) questionable
  • SG Landry Shamet (ankle) questionable
  • C LaMarcus Aldridge (conditioning) out
  • SF Kevin Durant (hamstring) out

Hornets at Nets: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Nets 114, Hornets 107

Money line (ML)

The Nets could be shorthanded Thursday night with Durant and possibly Harden out against the Hornets. But they still have PG Kyrie Irving, who has scored 58 points in his last two games.

SG Joe Harris lit it up against the Rockets Wednesday, too, so the Nets have plenty of offense to knock off the Hornets – even if Harden can’t go. I like the NETS (-160) to come away with a win Thursday.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

These teams have performed very differently against the spread in their last 10 games. Charlotte is 7-3, while Brooklyn is just 2-8. But tonight’s 3.5-point spread reflects that after the Nets were favored by 6.5, 10.5 and 12.5 in their last three games.

They’re more than capable of covering a 3.5-point spread against the Hornets, who don’t have Ball. Take the NETS (-3.5, -110) to win by at least 4 points.

Over/Under (O/U)

The Over was almost automatic in Nets games to start the year, but that trend has cooled. The total has only gone Over in four of their last 10, with the Over hitting in just two of the Hornets’ last 10 games, too.

Bet the UNDER 224.5 (-110) tonight.
