Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Thursday’s Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

Riding a three-game winning streak, the Brooklyn Nets (33-15) will host the Charlotte Hornets (24-22) at the Barclays Center, with tip-off set for 7:35 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Hornets-Nets odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Nets are an impressive 8-2 in their last 10 games, including wins against the Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers and New York Knicks. They remain one of the top teams in the East, but with SF Kevin Durant still sidelined and SG James Harden now battling hamstring tightness, they could be missing key players tonight.

The Hornets have survived PG LaMelo Ball‘s (wrist) absence thus far, winning four of their last five games, but the Nets are a real test for this resilient and young team. They’ll have to continue shooting it well from 3-point range to keep up with the high-scoring Nets.

Hornets at Nets: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Nets 114, Hornets 107

Money line (ML)

The Nets could be shorthanded Thursday night with Durant and possibly Harden out against the Hornets. But they still have PG Kyrie Irving, who has scored 58 points in his last two games.

SG Joe Harris lit it up against the Rockets Wednesday, too, so the Nets have plenty of offense to knock off the Hornets – even if Harden can’t go. I like the NETS (-160) to come away with a win Thursday.

Against the spread (ATS)

These teams have performed very differently against the spread in their last 10 games. Charlotte is 7-3, while Brooklyn is just 2-8. But tonight’s 3.5-point spread reflects that after the Nets were favored by 6.5, 10.5 and 12.5 in their last three games.

They’re more than capable of covering a 3.5-point spread against the Hornets, who don’t have Ball. Take the NETS (-3.5, -110) to win by at least 4 points.

Over/Under (O/U)

The Over was almost automatic in Nets games to start the year, but that trend has cooled. The total has only gone Over in four of their last 10, with the Over hitting in just two of the Hornets’ last 10 games, too.

Bet the UNDER 224.5 (-110) tonight.
