Two Tennessee football players earned Southeastern Conference weekly honors Monday.

Kicker Charles Campbell was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week and offensive tackle John Campbell Jr. was named SEC Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week.

The Vols defeated Kentucky, 33-27, Saturday at Kroger Field in Lexington, Kentucky.

Campbell, a graduate transfer from Indiana, scored 15 points against the Wildcats, including four field goals and three extra points. His four field goals Saturday were the most in one game by a Tennessee kicker since Chase McGrath in 2022.

Campbell Jr. started at left tackle against Kentucky. He played 55 snaps and did not allow a sack.

Charles Campbell discusses kicking at Neyland Stadium

Tennessee transfer Charles Campbell discusses kicking at Neyland Stadium.

Redshirt senior kicker Charles Campbell transferred to Tennessee from Indiana in Dec. 2022.

2023 will be Campbell’s sixth and final collegiate season.

He met with media following the Vols’ 14th practice during fall training camp and discussed kicking at Neyland Stadium.

“I love kicking in Neyland,” Campbell said. “It’s a great place to kick, and it is super fun. You go in there and you get to look around at the big stadium, so it’s super fun and I like it.

“The uprights are the same distance at Neyland as they are on the practice field, so it’s about the same. I really enjoy it, and it’s been nice to get in there a few times and understand where the wind flows and how to play the ball in there. It’s been fun.”

Campbell appeared in 34 games at Indiana from 2019-22. He converted 39-of-51 field goal attempts. Campbell became the second Hoosier in program history to record three 50-yard field goals in one season.

NFL Draft preview: Indiana Hoosiers top prospects

NFL Draft preview: Indiana Hoosiers top prospects from @joshkeatley16 #Browns #NFLDraft

We had an exciting week zero which included all three of the prospects that I highlighted from Nebraska having terrible games and playing a huge role in the giant Northwestern upset and the three prospects that I highlighted from the Pittsburgh Panthers were not that spectacular either, but one juicy match-up I will be watching closely is the Illinois Fighting Illini against the Indiana Hoosiers.

We saw Illinois dismantle a below-average Wyoming team last week, but this week they face a Big Ten opponent that I find very intriguing in Indiana.

The Hoosiers are not a great football team, but they have a few prospects that could be interesting fits in Cleveland.

Next, I wanted to provide the top five returning field goal kickers in the Big Ten. This may not be the sexiest list, but kickers are extremely important and below are the kickers who finished with the highest completion percentage.

Off we go.
