Chad Johnson trolls Shannon Sharpe after Bengals beat Broncos

Chad Johnson couldn’t wait to troll Shannon Sharpe after the Bengals beat the Broncos on Saturday.

Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ocho Cinco” Johnson have a hit YouTube series, Nightcap, in which they wax poetic about sports, entertainment, and pop culture moments.

Last Saturday night, Sharpe’s former team, the Denver Broncos, and Johnson’s former team, the Cincinnati Bengals, faced off in a thriller with significant playoff implications. The Bengals came out victorious in a 30-24 overtime victory and Johnson was eager to give Sharpe grief following the game.

You can watch their witty game recap below:

As for the playoffs, the loss has the Broncos skating on thin ice. If the season ended today, the Broncos would have the final spot in the AFC. However, since their record is 9-7 and the Bengals are 8-8, a Cincy win next weekend and a Denver loss could allow the Bengals to sneak into the postseason.

The Broncos can clinch a spot in the postseason with a win (or tie) against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 18.

Shannon Sharpe reacts to Broncos’ loss to Chargers, Justin Strnad penalty

“You can’t say that ‘I didn’t hit him that hard!’ Don’t touch him!” Shannon Sharpe said of Justin Strnad’s penalty on Thursday night.

Former Denver Broncos tight end Shannon Sharpe and former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson broke down Denver’s Thursday Night Football loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on an episode of Nightcap last week.

First, Sharpe addressed the intricacies of the Chargers’ rare fair catch kick at the end of the first half, as the Broncos led Los Angeles at halftime 21-13.

Then, Sharpe turned his attention to the crucial penalty committed by Broncos linebacker Justin Strnad, when he was called for a late hit on Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert.

“When the quarterback start to slide, (the referees) not gonna let you touch him, even if you bump him,” Sharpe said. “So guys just go over the top with a monkey roll. If you touch the quarterback, and he’s going into a slide, they’re going to throw a penalty. You can’t say that ‘I didn’t hit him that hard!’ Don’t touch him!”

Sharpe summed up the second half of the game, saying, “The Broncos self-inflicted the penalties in the second half, both offensively and defensively.”

Denver committed seven penalties for 61 yards, which sustained Charger drives and led to the Broncos’ downfall.

Fans can watch the rest of Sharpe and Johnson’s analysis here:

Up next for the Broncos is a road game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday. Denver needs one more win to clinch a spot in the NFL playoffs.

Shannon Sharpe was fired up after the Broncos beat Browns in primetime

“Y’all know what it is, we Broncos Country,” Shannon Sharpe said after Denver beat the Browns on ‘Monday Night Football.’

The Denver Broncos defeated the Cleveland Browns 41-32 in a thrilling Monday Night Football game to wrap up Week 13.

It’s fair to say Pro Football Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe was fired up following the victory.

“Y’all know what it is, we Broncos Country,” Sharpe said on his Nightcap show co-hosted with Chad Johnson. “You go to the Mile High, 5,280 feet above sea level. You know when you come up in there, it ain’t an easy place to win.”

Sharpe did admit that Denver got a win “thanks to Jameis,” a reference to Jameis Winston throwing two interceptions, including two pick-sixes.

You can watch Sharpe’s complete game recap with Johnson below:

Sharpe played for the Broncos from 1990-1999, winning two Super Bowls in Denver. He then spent 2000-2001 with the Baltimore Ravens and won a third Super Bowl before returning to the Broncos to finish his career in Denver from 2002-2003.

An eight-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro, Sharpe’s 10,060 receiving yards rank fifth among all tight ends in NFL history.

Shannon Sharpe reacts to Sean Payton crushing the Saints on ‘TNF’

“[Bo Nix] has got some athleticism,” Sharpe said. “He can run — needs to work on his accuracy — but you can do a lot of things with him.”

Former Denver Broncos tight end and Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe teamed up with former All-Pro wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson to break down the Broncos’ 33-10 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 7.

After talking about the injury-depleted Saints team that had 17 players on the injury report going into the game, Johnson turned his attention to the Broncos and the passing game.

“I would like to see if the Broncos are playing a better team, I would like to see them getting the passing game going a little bit more,” said Johnson. “Courtland Sutton, you gotta get him involved. He’s making too much money to be out there getting cardio in.” Sutton finished Week 7 without a single target.

Johnson then went on to praise Denver rookie quarterback Bo Nix. “I like Bo Nix,” said Johnson. “Bo Nix got moxie. I don’t even know what moxie mean!”

Sharpe also commented on the rookie. “(Nix) has got some athleticism,” said the Hall of Famer. “He can run, needs to work on his accuracy, but you can do a lot of things with him.”

You can view the entire eight-minute exchange between the Ochocinco and Sharpe below.

The Broncos look to continue their momentum against the Carolina Panthers in Week 8.

James Harrison and Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson will have an MMA match at the 2025 Super Bowl

Why in the world would anyone want to fight James Harrison?

Chad “Ochochinco” Johnson and James Harrison have undoubtedly crossed paths a number of times on the field.

With Harrions being a Steelers legend and Johnson being the face of the Bengals for so long, there’s a natural tension between them. Surely, they’ve clashed more often than not.

Now, they’ll take that clash into the octagon.

Johnson and Harrison are set to have a mixed martial arts exhibition match ahead of the Super Bowl this year. Johnson posted about the matchup on Twitter and, yet, it’s still hard to believe this is happening.

Why would you ever want to fight a guy who works out like this? I mean, he literally needed to spice up his pushup challenge with extra humans because he wasn’t challenged enough. That’s not somebody I’d be trying to fight.

But Johnson is down, though.

These two are already talking trash to each other.

Hey, man. This might be a good time.

Former Steelers legend to square off with Chad Johnson in MMA bout

James Harrison is scheduled to fight Chad Johnson in MMA before the Super Bowl.

When he played and even since his retirement, there are few NFL players as strong and aggressive as former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison. His feats of strength are the stuff of legend, even years after retiring.

So count us among those surprise when former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson put it out on social media that he and Harrison are scheduled to square off in a five-round MMA bout in New Orleans ahead of the Super Bowl.

The two went back and forth on social media about the fight which leads us to believe this might actually happen and it isn’t just talk.

We are genuinely worried about Johnson if this fight really happens. We don’t know exactly how much either guy weighs right now but Harrison played at close to 250 pounds at six feet tall. Johnson, on the other hand, is around 6-foot-1 and played at about 190 pounds. This could get really ugly really fast.

Former NFL star Chad Johnson with high praise Commanders QB Jayden Daniels

Chad Johnson was in attendance for Jayden Daniels’ practice performance against the Dolphins.

Former NFL star wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson was present for Thursday’s joint practice between the Washington Commanders and Miami Dolphins.

What did the six-time Pro Bowl receiver think of Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels?

“Did you Jayden Daniels today,” Johnson asked co-host Shannon Sharpe on Saturday’s edition of “Nightcap.”

“He looked good,” Sharpe responded.

“You know, I went to Dolphins practice, I went to the joint practice, and I was able to see them; it might have been Thursday’s practice,” Johnson said. “Maaaaan, that boy looked like……you know how you see some rookies, and they look like they just belong. Like he’s been here before. Man, he in that pocket, man, so G—–n calm and relaxed. Pressure coming all around him, he just stepping up in the pocket. He looked nice. And this was in practice so I expected what I saw in the game.

Here’s some backstory: In Thursday’s practice, Daniels was phenomenal, reportedly throwing five consecutive touchdown passes at one point against the Dolphins, earning praise from those in Miami.

In Saturday’s game against the Dolphins, Daniels played two series, completed 10 of 12 passing attempts for 78 yards, and rushed for 13 more.

Here’s the full episode of “Nightcap,” and you can see Johnson and Sharpe discuss Daniels at around the 2:07:35 mark.

Daniels’ performance against the Dolphins was somewhat overshadowed by No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams, who also had a terrific performance. But anyone who saw Daniels knows the league is paying attention.

Chad Johnson would love to play with Joe Burrow-led Bengals

Yes, Chad Johnson would love to catch passes from Joe Burrow.

Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson would love to suit up with Joe Burrow and the current Cincinnati Bengals.

That much should be obvious for many reasons, but Chad himself confirmed it on Instagram.

Cincinnati’s social team posed the question of dream duos from team history that fans would love to see. Then, to get the ball rolling, they proposed Burrow and Chad.

Chad hit the comments section right alongside fans: “We can still make this happen. I’m in shape.”

Johnson, 46, has made bold claims like this before to the team and otherwise, of course.

And the excellent team ambassador recently visited a Bengals practice and had a rep against a rookie that went viral.

If nothing else, it’s a fun thought exercise for fans.

Cincinnati Bengals great Chad Johnson will be back on television for fans in late August.

Of course, Bill Belichick is easily the biggest name joining the show. Others include Ryan Clark and Chris Long.

Arike Ogunbowale withdrew from U.S. Olympic player pool ‘months ago’

That’s unfortunate.

Most basketballs would love to accomplish even part of what former Notre Dame standout [autotag]Arike Ogunbowale[/autotag] already has. However, she has not made a U.S. Olympic team, and she doesn’t seem to think it will happen anytime soon.

Ogunbowale recently was interviewed on the podcast “Nightcap”, hosted by Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson. In talking about the selection process for the 2024 Olympic team, she didn’t hold back:

“Me being me, I just felt the vibes. When it comes to that stuff, it really doesn’t have much to do with your game. It’s really about who they feel like fits with the team. That’s on the men’s side, too.

The committees say they look for people who … I don’t know, honestly. But I could already tell. I actually took my name out of the pool months ago. With the pool, it’s a big commitment. If I know they’re not picking me, I’m not going to keep going to these [camps] when I know the vibe. I’m not going to give you my time if I know the vibe.”

You can see all of Ogunbowale’s interview here:

Here’s hoping that Ogunbowale finally will get her chance at Olympic gold in 2028.
