The Georgia Bulldogs have their backs against the wall after losing 28-10 to Ole Miss. Fortunately, we are no longer in the four-team College Football Playoff era.
Georgia remains a SEC championship contender, but the Bulldogs must defeat the Tennessee Volunteers this Saturday. Tennessee is on top of the SEC standings. Georgia has to win the SEC championship in order to secure a first-round bye in the playoff.
Georgia football College Football Playoff projection
We project Georgia to be ranked No. 11 in the second playoff rankings behind a pair of two-loss teams in Alabama and Ole Miss. Georgia lost to both Alabama and Ole Miss. We do think Georgia will be ranked over several one-loss teams like Miami and SMU. Georgia was No. 3 in the previous playoff rankings.
