The Howard and Florida A&M marching bands wowed during Celebration Bowl halftime performances

Check out these awesome Celebration Bowl marching band performances from Howard and Florida A&M.

The Cricket Celebration Bowl pitted two of the best HBCU teams in college football against each other on Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

It also squared off two of the best marching bands in all of the country in Howard’s “Showtime” Marching Band and Florida A&M’s Marching 100.

The two marching bands performed at halftime of the Celebration Bowl, and both bands brought the house down with their impressive displays of artistry and energy.

Even Vice President Kamala Harris, a Howard alumnus, got up and danced during her alma mater’s performance because of how good it was.

No matter who won the football game between Howard and Florida A&M, both bands deserved plenty of praise for how well they did.

North Carolina Central ruins Deion Sanders’ last game at Jackson State with OT win

North Carolina Central wins the HBCU Championship by downing Deion Sanders and Jackson State

North Carolina Central saw victory erased as time elapsed at the end of regulation in the Celebration Bowl Saturday.

The Eagles remained calm, driving for a touchdown in overtime to ruin the end of the Deion Sanders era at Jackson State, 41-34.

The Tigers, who came in undefeated, had forced overtime on the final play of regulation when Shedeur Sanders threw a TD pass to Travis Hunter. They went for the PAT to send the game to the extra session rather than try to win it with a 2-point conversion.

In the extra period, Davius Richard scored on a 1-yard run and the Eagles kicked the PAT.

The Tigers’ drive ended with a pair of incompletions, one that saw sophomore tight end Hayden Hagler drop a potential TD pass in the end zone. The second pass from Shedeur Sanders was errant and North Carolina Central was the HBCU champs.

The Tigers named T.C. Taylor to replace Deion Sanders as head coach. Deion Sanders is taking over as head coach at the University of Colorado and bringing many Jackson State players with him to Boulder.

North Carolina Central uses Philly Special to build 7-point lead over Jackson State

North Carolina Central grabs the lead in the Celebration Bowl

North Carolina Central was doing its best to ruin Deion Sanders’ exit from Jackson State and the Tigers’ hopes for a perfect season.

The Eagles drove 73 yards over 11 plays in the fourth quarter to take the lead, 34-27.

Latrell Collier finished the drive with a 7-yard run. The Eagles borrowed from the Philadelphia Eagles with a “Philly Special” on the 2-point conversion and it worked.

Best bets for every bowl game, Pt. 1 (pre-Christmas Day bowls)

Part 1 of our picks for all 43 bowl games.

Bowl season is officially upon us, and there is something for everybody. In fact, some might say there are too many bowls — or so many that most end up being just exhibitions.

I’m not going to sit here and disagree. But if you can’t find something to enjoy from any of these games, college football just might not be your thing.

An alternative way to get invested is through a little betting action. And because most people don’t have time to research 43 different games, I did it for you.

Starting with every bowl before Christmas, these are my best bets for each game. Check back later for the remaining bowls.

Deion Sanders’ son Shilo makes pick in Celebration Bowl

Deion Sanders’ son, Shilo, with a pick in the Celebration Bowl

A DB with the last name of Sanders making an interception in a game played in Atlanta while wearing No. 21.

If it felt like people at the Celebration Bowl were in a time machine no one could blame them.

In the city where Deion Sanders made so many picks, the College and Pro Football Hall of Famer was coaching Jackson State against South Carolina State in Saturday’s Celebration Bowl.

And in classic “Prime Time” fashion, his son, Shilo, wearing the same digits his father did through a glorious career, picked off a South Carolina State pass.

We’re sure it made Deion a proud dad.

N.C. A&T and Alcorn State combine for 108 points in Celebration Bowl thriller

They score 49 points in the third quarter alone.

Anyone who took the under in Saturday’s Celebration Bowl game between North Carolina A&T and Alcorn State lost big and didn’t have to wait until the end of the game to find that out.

The Aggies won their third straight Celebration Bowl and fourth in five years with a wild 64-44 victory in this high-scoring thriller.

Not only did they hit the combined 100-point mark, but the 108 total points are the most scored in Celebration Bowl history, according to ESPN Stats & Info. The under/over was 52, and these teams blew past that early in the third quarter — when they combined for 49 points in those 15 minutes alone.

The clear star of the game was N.C. A&T quarterback Kylil Carter. On 1st-and-10 with about 10 minutes left in the third, he connected with Ron Hunt for an epic 43-yard touchdown and a 38-17 lead with the extra point.

That was one of several monster bombs from Carter, who finished with a career-high six touchdowns, which also tied an N.C. A&T record. He went 18-for-30 for 364 yards, another career mark, and no interceptions.

But he actually wasn’t responsible for the the play that broke the combined 100-point mark. That was a crazy one worthy of this exciting matchup.

With a little less than five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Alcorn State was still very much in this game. The Braves scored a one-yard touchdown to shrink their deficit to 55-44. But then on the extra point attempt, the snap was way too high and breezed over the holder’s head, and N.C. A&T defensive back Amir McNeill recovered it and took it all the way back to the opposite end zone.

What a great game. Here’s a look at some of the other incredible highlights from this matchup:
