Fantasy football: Where to draft Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb

Analyzing Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb’s 2022 fantasy football ADP and where you should target him in your drafts.

When the Dallas Cowboys drafted CeeDee Lamb in the 1st round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the belief was that he was going to be a star. He was the latest to be awarded Michael Irvin’s No. 88 — which has been given to receivers viewed as the “Next Big Thing.” With the trade of Amari Cooper, that time is now and Lamb is going to be expected to raise his game to the WR1 level — not just with the Cowboys, but in fantasy football circles.

Below, we look at CeeDee Lamb‘s 2022 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.

Dak Prescott has been anointed as the franchise quarterback and the 2-headed run game can be dominant at times. Lamb needs to be the 3rd component that makes the Dallas offense click.

As is often the case with the 24/7/365 hype machine surrounding the Cowboys, those players who are expected to be key contributors are lionized in the offseason and Lamb has been getting that treatment.

Lamb is currently being drafted as WR6 — slightly behind Davante Adams (Las Vegas Raiders) at 13.62 and Stefon Diggs (Buffalo Bills) at 16.24 and ahead of Deebo Samuel (San Francisco 49ers) at 19.73 and Tyreek Hill (Miami Dolphins) at 24.90.

Where should you draft Lamb?

With the trade of Cooper, Michael Gallup coming back from injury and James Washington down, Lamb is going to have to be the main man by a large margin in the Cowboys pass offense.

Where he is ranked is likely on point given the young quarterbacks that are throwing to Samuel and Hill — the 2 receivers immediately behind Lamb. I might drop him behind Samuel because of the double duty Deebo brings to the table and have a hard time dropping Tyreek too far, but Lamb should meet or surpass his career highs across the board. That makes him worthy of being a WR1, although it’s asking him to do something he has yet to prove on the field or to fantasy owners. A case can be made for the guys behind him, but Lamb is a “safe pick” for fantasy stardom in 2022.
