Coach Prime lands first commitment of new transfer portal cycle

Colorado has landed its first commitment of the new transfer portal cycle

It didn’t take Carter Miller long to find a new home in the college football transfer portal.

Only six days after entering the portal on Dec. 9, the former Louisiana-Monroe interior offensive lineman announced his commitment to Colorado on Sunday. Miller marks coach Deion Sanders’ first transfer pickup since the portal opened last week.

Listed at 6 feet, 2 inches and 300 pounds, Miller joins the Buffs with three years of college experience. The Fort Worth, Texas, native began his career at James Madison, where he redshirted in 2022 before starting eight games at left guard in 2023.

This past season at Louisiana-Monroe, he started 12 games at center and received a 76.7 pass-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus.

It’s still early in the new transfer portal cycle, but Miller may fill one of the guard spots in Boulder. True freshman walk-on Cash Cleveland thrived as Colorado’s starting center this past season after taking over for sophomore Hank Zilinskas midway through the year.

ULM offensive line transfer to visit Michigan State next week

It is no secret that Michigan State is heavily in the market for massive upgrades on the offensive line. The Spartans have found their latest prospect to add to the recruiting board.

Carter Miller, an interior offensive line transfer from Louisiana-Monroe, has received an offer and is slated to visit Michigan State next week.

According to PFF, as a center with the Warhawks, Miller graded mediocre as a run blocker but was an excellent pass blocker in 2024. Prior to his time at ULM, Miller played at James Madison.

Miller will be visiting Colorado prior to his trip to East Lansing.
