Cardinals’ Rodney Hudson unlikely to play vs. Eagles

The Cardinals’ starting center is dealing with a knee injury and did not practice all week.

The Arizona Cardinals will likely be without their starting center, Rodney Hudson, when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday afternoon at State Farm Stadium. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters after practice Friday that he doubted Hudson would be able to play.

Hudson is listed on the injury report with a knee injury and did not practice Wednesday or Thursday. In Friday, media members in attendance saw he did not participate in the open part of practice.

His final game status will be known when the final injury report comes out Friday afternoon.

That means Sean Harlow will get the start at center.

This will give the Cardinals an added challenge. The Eagles have two huge, strong and athletic defensive tackles — veteran Fletcher Cox and rookie Jordan Davis.

Harlow will need to be at his best to slow them down.

Starting left guard Justin Pugh has missed practice time and backup guard Max Garcia as well, so the Cardinals will enter the game this weekend with a banged-up interior offensive line.

WR Rondale Moore’s knee injury not serious, should play vs. Eagles

He popped up on the injury report Thursday with a knee injury but is expected to play against the Eagles.

The Arizona Cardinals have taken several hits to the wide receiver room this season. They got Rondale Moore back after three weeks, missing time with a pulled hamstring, but he suffered a knee injury this week in practice and appeared on the injury report Thursday.

However, there is good news.

According to Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson, Moore did not suffer a serious injury and is expected to play on Sunday when the Cardinals host the Philadelphia Eagles.

This is big because fellow receiver Antoine Wesley, who was designated to return from injured reserve, apparently suffered a quad injury and might be done for the season.

A.J. Green, who missed last week with a bone bruise in his knee, will also hopefully return.

DeAndre Hopkins has two games remaining on his suspension.

Moore, in his season debut, had three receptions for 11 yards against the Panthers.

The Cardinals and Eagles play Sunday at State Farm Stadium at 1:25 p.m. Arizona time.

WR Antoine Wesley injured again, having MRI for quad injury

Coming back from a hip/groin injury, it is feared that Wesley has torn his quadriceps and that his season could be over.

It appeared that the Arizona Cardinals were going to get wide receiver Antoine Wesley back after missing the first four weeks of the season. He had a groin/hip injury that landed him on injured reserve.

Now, after being designated to return and practicing this week, he apparently has a new injury and it could cost him the rest of the season.

According to Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson, it is feared that Wesley has torn his quadriceps. He is having an MRI on it Friday.

Since he has already been designated to return, the three-week window to be reactivated has already opened. If he is unable to come back by the end of the three weeks, he will remain on IR for the remainder of the season.

Wesley had 19 receptions last season for 208 yards and three touchdowns. There was optimism he would be able to expand his role this season and was having a good offseason and beginning of training camp before his injury.

This injury is yet another setback a wide receiver room that has taken several hits this season.

At minimum, he is surely not going to be reinstated to the roster to play against the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday. His season might be over before it even begins.

K Matt Prater ruled out in Week 5; WR A.J. Green should play vs. Eagles

Matt Ammendola will kick for the Cardinals this weekend against the Eagles.

The Arizona Cardinals are dealing with a few injuries as they prepare for their Week 5 battle at home against the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles. They will be without their kicker, Matt Prater.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters that Prater would be out this week. He has a hip injury that kept him from finishing the game against the Carolina Panthers, a 26-16 win.

They signed Matt Ammendola to the practice squad Tuesday, so he will be elevated Saturday to replace Prater.

Also, after missing one game with a bone bruise in his knee, receiver A.J. Green should be back and play against the Eagles, AZCentral Sports’ Bob McManaman tweeted.

Rondale Moore returned in Week 4 and Antoine Wesley could be back as well, so the Cardinals could have everyone available in the receiver room minus DeAndre Hopkins, who has two games remaining on his suspension.
