The St. Louis Cardinals (36-36) and Miami Marlins (24-49) meet for the finale of a 3-game series. First pitch from loanDepot Park is set for 12:40 p.m. ET (MLB Network). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Cardinals vs. Marlins odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: St. Louis leads 3-2

Miami won 9-8 in 10 innings Tuesday while covering as a +118 home underdog. The Marlins scored 2 runs in the 10th inning to complete the comeback after being down 7-4 midway through the 4th.

St. Louis had a 2-game winning streak snapped with Tuesday’s loss while Miami broke a 6-game losing streak with the win.

Cardinals at Marlins projected starters

RHP Kyle Gibson vs. RHP Yonny Chirinos

Gibson (5-2, 3.44 ERA) makes his 15th start. He has a 1.20 WHIP, 3.3 BB/9 and 7.9 K/9 in 83 2/3 IP.

  • Last start: Win, 7 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 1 BB, 6 K in a 3-0 win over the Chicago Cubs Friday
  • Career vs. Miami: 2-4, 5.68 ERA (52 1/3 IP, 33 ER), 1.39 WHIP, 6.7 K/9 in 9 starts

Chirinos (6-4, 3.00 ERA) made 12 starts in the minors with the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp where he had a 1.26 WHIP, 3.1 BB/9 and 6.4 K/9 in 66 IP.

  • Career major league stats: 20-15, 4.03 ERA (326 1/3 IP, 146 ER), 1.20 WHIP, 7.1 K/9 across 38 starts and 31 relief appearances
  • First career start vs. St. Louis

Cardinals at Marlins picks and predictions

Prediction

Cardinals 6, Marlins 3

Moneyline

PASS.

I like St. Louis (-172) to pick up the win here as the Cardinals are simply the better team, but this line is too risky to bet on. Bet on the run line and/or total instead.

Run line/Against the spread

LEAN CARDINALS -1.5 (-110).

St. Louis has covered the spread in 6 of its last 7 wins vs. Miami and in 10 of its last 11 wins overall. This is a lean because neither team has been very good ATS this season — the Cardinals are 36-36 ATS while the Marlins are 30-43 ATS.

Over/Under

BET OVER 8.5 (-102).

The Over has hit in 3 of Miami’s last 4 home games. For St. Louis, the Over has hit in back-to-back games. The Over has also hit in 7 of the last 10 St. Louis-Miami matchups, being 3-1 in the last 4 meetings in Miami.

Be aware that the Under is 7-3 in St. Louis’s last 10 games.

St. Louis Cardinals at Miami Marlins odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s St. Louis Cardinals at Miami Marlins odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The St. Louis Cardinals (35-35) take on the Miami Marlins (23-48) Monday in the opener of a 3-game set at loanDepot park at 6:40 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Cardinals vs. Marlins odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Cards lead 2-1

Who has the best record in the NL since Mother’s Day? If you answered the St. Louis Cardinals, you’d be correct. They are 20-11 in their last 31 games and have done it with solid pitching and just enough hitting to get by. They took 2 of 3 in Wrigley Field over the weekend as rookie C Pedro Pages hit his first 2 MLB homers to down the Chicago Cubs.

The Marlins have let it be known they’re waving the white flag and open for business on tradeable assets. They have lost 5 in a row and were outscored 28-8 in the process. In other words, it feels bad in South Florida right about now. CF Jazz Chisholm Jr. is having a productive season at .260 with 10 homers, 24 total extra-base hits, 34 RBIs and 13 steals.

Cardinals at Marlins projected starters

RHP Sonny Gray vs. LHP Braxton Garrett

Gray (8-4, 3.01 ERA) makes his 13th start. He has a 1.03  WHIP, 2.6 BB/9 and 11.9 K/9 through 68 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: Win, 7 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 9 K in 4-2 home victory vs. Pittsburgh Pirates Wednesday
  • Career vs. Marlins: 3-0, 2.48 ERA (29 IP, 8 ER), 0.90 WHIP, 9.9 K/9 in 5 starts

Garrett (2-2, 6.10 ERA) makes his 7th start. He has a 1.26 WHIP, 1.2 BB/9 and 8.1 K/9 through 31 innings.

  • Last start: Loss, 4 2/3 IP, 4 ER (6 R), 7 H, 0 BB, 4 K in 10-4 setback at New York Mets Wednesday
  • Career vs. Cardinals: 0-1, 6.14 ERA (14 2/3 IP, 10 ER), 1.57 WHIP, 14 K in 3 starts

Cardinals at Marlins picks and predictions

Prediction

Cardinals 4, Marlins 2

Moneyline

The Cards are at a solid price here with a big advantage in the starting pitchers. Gray went through a rough patch, but he was sensational in his last start in matching a season-high 7 innings. He has allowed 8 runs in 5 career games against Miami — and 5 of those runs came in a single start 10 years ago.

Take CARDINALS (-155) as they feel a little underpriced.

Run line/Against the spread

The Cards are 18-20 on the RL on the road. That is also their road record. I do not trust them to cover here. At game #71 on the year, they’re 11-9 in 1-run games. Closer Ryan Helsley leads the majors with 25 saves because they play so many close games.

Gray has 7+ K’s in 3 of his last 4 starts. He went through some control woes that led to walks, got his pitch counts up and sabotaged him along the way. He had 1 BB last start and seems to have righted that ship. Take SONNY GRAY OVER 6.5 K’s (-130).

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

The Cards have scored just 15 runs in their last 6 games but managed to go 4-2 in the process. They’re 2-8 O/U over the last 10 games, and the Marlins are 4-6. This is a really low figure, but these offenses don’t move the needle enough to consider an Over.

Take UNDER 7 (+100).

St. Louis Cardinals at Miami Marlins odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s St. Louis Cardinals at Miami Marlins odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[anyclip pubname=”2129″ widgetname=”0016M00002U0B1kQAF_M8190″]

The St. Louis Cardinals (35-51) and Miami Marlins (51-37) play the finale of a 4-game set Thursday at loanDepot park. First pitch is at 6:40 p.m. ET (FS1). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Cardinals vs. Marlins odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Marlins lead 3-0

The Cardinals dropped Wednesday’s game 10-9 and it was the epitome of their season. They trailed 5-0 after 2 innings and stormed back to tie it in the 5th. Miami took the lead, St. Louis tied it, and Miami got the lead again. OF Jordan Walker hit a 2-run home run to take the lead in the 9th, which should have been the highlight of his career, and the Cards blow the save in the 9th and lose. They’re 11-19 over the last 30 games and 12 1/2 games out in the weak NL Central.

Miami has been really impressive for a young team. The Marlins probably need a power bat or 2 at the trade deadline, but they can play. They’re 21-9 over the last 30 games. They’re 8 games out in the NL East, but they hold a 3 1/2-game lead on the top Wild-Card spot.

Cardinals at Marlins projected starters

RHP Jack Flaherty vs. RHP Eury Perez

Flaherty (5-5, 4.60 ERA) makes his 17th start. He has a 1.56 WHIP, 4.8 BB/9 and 8.8 K/9 in 86 innings.

  • Last start: Win, 6 IP, 0 ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 4 K Saturday against the New York Yankees
  • 3 career starts vs. Marlins: 1-2, 3.50 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, 20 K in 18 IP

Perez (5-2, 2.47 ERA) makes his 11th start. He has a 1.12 WHIP, 2.9 BB/9 and 10.3 K/9 in 47 1/3 innings.

  • Last start: Loss, 1/3 IP, 6 ER, 7 H, 0 BB, 0 K Saturday against the Atlanta Braves
  • Had a 1.34 ERA before that miserable start
  • Great at home: 3-0, 1.01 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, 36 K in 26 2/3 IP; 2-2, 4.35 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, 18 K in 20 2/3 IP on road

Cardinals at Marlins picks and predictions

Prediction

Marlins 5, Cardinals 3

Moneyline

The Cardinals routinely struggle against pitchers they see for the 1st time, and Perez has been phenomenal outside of his last start. It should serve as a piece of humble pie, and he should contain the drowning Cards. Yeah, it’s hard to beat a team 4 straight times, but this Cardinals team continues to find ways to lose.

Take the MARLINS -125.

Run line/Against the spread

I’m going to shy away from the RL here because St. Louis has kept it within a run in 2 of the 3 games in this series, but they’re too expensive to do it again.

One prop I love is EURY PEREZ OVER 15.5 OUTS (-125). He went 6 innings in 3 straight starts before he was shelled in his last outing. He’ll dominate the Cards for at least 1 out into the 6th inning.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

We had the Over cash in the 1st 3 games of this series, and I really want to lean toward the Under, but I don’t trust St. Louis’ bullpen to keep it Under 8.

Instead, let’s make a small, reachable parlay for some plus-money. Take the MARLINS + EURY PEREZ 5 K’s (+120). Before his last start, he had 5+ K’s in 5 straight starts. Again, the Cards can’t hit pitchers they see for the first time – especially ones with Perez’s stuff.

St. Louis Cardinals at Miami Marlins odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s St. Louis Cardinals at Miami Marlins odds and lines, with expert MLB picks, predictions and best bets.

[anyclip pubname=”2129″ widgetname=”0016M00002U0B1kQAF_M8190″]

The St. Louis Cardinals (35-48) and the Miami Marlins (48-37) kick off a 4-game series Monday at loanDepot park. First pitch is set for 6:40 p.m. ET (MLB Network). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Cardinals vs. Marlins odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting in 2023; Cardinals won 4-2 in 2022

The Cardinals surprised the New York Yankees in a weekend interleague series by winning 2 of 3 games, including a 5-1 victory in the finale on Sunday, while outscoring the Bronx Bombers 18-11. St. Louis also won its most recent true road series, taking 2 of 3 games in Washington against the Nationals June 19-21. St. Louis is 4-1 in its last 5 road outings.

The Marlins were humbled by the red-hot Atlanta Braves at Truist Field over the weekend, as the NL East-leading Braves swept the 2nd-place Marlins. Miami was outscored 29-7 in the 3-game set, splashing cold water on the 3-game sweep of the Boston Red Sox in its previous series.

RHP Miles Mikolas vs. LHP Braxton Garrett

Mikolas (4-5, 4.44 ERA) makes his 18th start. He has a 1.38 WHIP, 2.0 BB/9 and 6.3 K/9 across 99 1/3 IP.

  • Last start: No-decision, 5 2/3 IP, 5 ER, 7 H, 3 BB, 4 K in a 10-7 home loss vs. the Houston Astros Wednesday
  • 2023 road splits: 3-3, 3.63 ERA (52 IP, 21 ER – 7 HR) with a .280 opponent batting average (OBA) in 9 starts

Garrett (4-2, 3.53 ERA) makes his 16th start and 17th appearance. He has a 1.13 WHIP, 1.7 BB/9 and 10.1 K/9 through 81 2/3 IP.

  • Last start: Win, 5 IP, 1 ER, 3 H (solo HR), 1 BB, 2 K in a 6-2 road win vs. the Boston Red Sox Wednesday
  • 2023 home splits: 1-1, 5.35 ERA (35 1/3 IP, 21 ER – 7 HR) with a .271 OBA in 6 starts and 1 relief appearance

Cardinals at Marlins picks and predictions

Prediction

Marlins 5, Cardinals 4

Moneyline

The MARLINS (-125) aren’t priced terribly high, which is a bit surprising given the disparity in records between these 2 teams.

While the Cardinals have won 4 of the past 5 road games, St. Louis is also a dismal 4-11 in its last 15 series opener and 2-5 in the past 7 tries against a left-handed starting pitcher.

The Fish have rolled up 14 wins in the past 17 home outings against teams with a losing record, and Miami is 13-3 in the past 16 at home vs. RHP.

Run line/Against the spread

The Cardinals +1.5 (-190) are just a tad bit too expensive if you feel they’ll continue their momentum from the weekend and keep this one within striking distance.

While St. Louis is 38-15 in the past 53 trips to South Florida, and Jupiter, Fla., native Mikolas might pitch with a little added incentive near his hometown, the Cards have just been too inconsistent to trust.

PASS.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

OVER 8 (-115) is the lean, but go lightly.

The Under is 11-4-1 in the past 16 road games for the Cardinals, but the Over is 5-2 in the past 7 against teams with a winning overall record. The Over is 7-3 in the past 10 following a win for the Cards, too.

The Over has connected in each of the past 6 series openers for the Marlins, too.
