In a WBA light heavyweight championship bout, Canelo Alvarez and Dmitry Bivol meet Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The fight can be viewed on DAZN, with the Pay-Per-View card beginning at 8 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Canelo vs. Bivol odds and lines, with picks and predictions.
Canelo enters this one with an impressive 57 victories, including 39 knockouts, and he’ll be up against a guy without a blemish in his career. The 31-year-old Kyrgyzstan-born fighter Bivol has won all 19 of his career bouts with 11 knockouts, although this obviously is a huge step up in competition.
Bivol has won his past six fights via unanimous decision since a TKO in the 12th Round against Sullivan Barrera at Madison Square Garden in New York back in March 2018. His last fight in Ekatarinburg in Russia was a snoozer UD against Umar Salamov in Dec. 2021.
Canelo still has a lot of tread on the tires at 31 years of age despite the high amount of fights on his ledger. He planted Caleb Plant via TKO in the 11th Round last time out at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas in Nov. 2021, following up an 8th Round RTD against Billy Joe Saunders in Arlington, Texas. Before that was a title defense fight in Miami against Avni Yildirim, which barely had him break a sweat in the 3rd-Round win.

Canelo Alvarez vs. Dmitry Bivol picks and predictions
Records: Canelo (57-1-2) | Bivol (19-0-0)
Fight result (2-way line or money line)
Canelo (-600) will cost you six times your potential return, and that’s just way too outrageous of a price, especially in a bout that has a good chance of going to the judges. It’s hard to envision Canelo losing, however.
Instead, play CANELO BY DECISION (-170), which is a much, much better price.
Over/Under (O/U)
Over 10.5 Rounds (-360) is way too expensive, costing you over three-and-a-half times your potential return. You can’t make any money that way. Yes (-290): Fight to go the distance is too pricey, too.
AVOID, and just play the Method of Victory as your primary wager in this title bout.
