Khloé Kardashian will commentate first-ever ‘Candy Crush Saga’ esports tournament

No, you are not dreaming right now. The headline is legit!

Bet you never thought Candy Crush Saga would be esports-worthy, eh? Well, buckle up because Candy Crush All Stars is an upcoming tournament that will pit the best, uh, “crushers” against each other. Oh, and Khloé Kardashian will host and commentate the whole thing.

Unsurprisingly, how this all works is a bit bizarre. Candy Crush Saga players over level 25 from across the United States will compete in qualifier rounds starting Sept. 23 and running through Oct. 7 with finals sometime in November. Sadly, it’s all online. I was hoping for giant stadiums full of neon hues and colorful computer chairs as if this were a League of Legends or Overwatch event.

“Anyone who knows me knows that I think I’m the most competitive in my family, and it’s no different when it comes to Candy Crush,” Kardashian said in a press release. “The All-Stars tournament offers the perfect opportunity to take my crushing skills to the next level. I wish the best of luck to everyone playing and look forward to crowning the first-ever Candy Crush All Star! For now, get those fingers warmed up and get practicing!”

It’s hard to imagine Candy Crush Saga as esports because, well, it’s a very simplistic time-wasting game without any in-depth mechanics. However, this tournament fits the criteria no matter how silly it seems on paper.

LeBron James to star in ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’ crossover with Candy Crush Saga

LeBron James will be starring in a new limited-time event crossover between “Space Jam: A New Legacy” and Candy Crush Saga.

The July 16 release date for “Space Jam: A New Legacy” starring Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is inching closer.

In the film, James will team with Bugs Bunny and the Tune Squad in a basketball game against the Goon Squad to save his son who is trapped in the digital world.

Beyond the movie, “Space Jam: A New Legacy” will also have different mediums to interact with the various characters.

King, the mobile gaming company, announced it is teaming with “Space Jam: A New Legacy” in a crossover event with the popular game, “Candy Crush Saga.”

Here’s what the game will entail, according to the official statement via King:

“With the support of LeBron and Tiffi, players must work their way through the levels to free Lola Bunny, Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny from the gum trapping them in the map. As players free the Tune Squad and climb up the event leader board, they will unlock a variety of special treats, including exclusive new film content from Space Jam: A New Legacy. The limited-time event will also feature a movie-themed Treasure Box quest, where players can collect a haul of in-game boosters if completed.”

It will be available to download and play on IOS and Android from July 6 to July 19, and a Space Jam-themed season pass will be available to use in Candy Crush Soda Saga from July 8 to July 29.

James will also star in the new “Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game” available exclusively on Xbox. It resembles an old-school arcade game with the ability to play as different characters ranging from James to various Looney Tunes icons.
