Candlestick Chronicles: Initial reactions to 49ers 1st-round picks

Chris and Kyle react to the 49ers picking Javon Kinlaw and Brandon Aiyuk in the NFL draft.

The 49ers addressed arguably their two top needs in the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday night.

San Francisco traded down one spot from No. 13 to pick up South Carolina defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw with the 14th selection. Later in the draft, they slid up six spots from No. 31 to No. 25 to snag Arizona State wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

Chris Biderman of the Sacramento Bee and Kyle Madson discuss the two picks, how each player fits, and the big-picture fallout of San Francisco’s Day 1 moves.

Candlestick Chronicles: Under-the-radar draft prospects for 49ers

What NFL draft prospects could the 49ers target who aren’t getting enough attention?

The 49ers have done everything to keep their options wide open with both the 13th and 31st picks in this year’s draft. General manager John Lynch said the team is open to trading back from both, but also said there are players on the board that would keep them at both spots if they fall to the 49ers.

Chris Biderman of the Sacramento Bee and Kyle Madson break down what we might be missing in San Francisco’s draft plans. The 49ers have a penchant for going off the beaten path with their selections under Lynch, so the guys sift through the prospects to see how some under-the-radar names make logical sense for the team.

They also go over some of the latest trade rumors, and the likelihood of Joe Staley’s return in 2020.

Candlestick Chronicles: Jerry Jeudy or Ceedee Lamb?

Chris and Kyle discuss the pros and cons of Jerry Jeudy and CeeDee Lamb for the 49ers in this year’s NFL draft.

As the draft draws closer, the consensus appears to be that the 49ers will use the No. 13 overall pick to select a wide receiver. Who that wide receiver will be is less of a sure thing.
