Kentucky football flips a former Wisconsin wide receiver recruit

Class of 2025 receiver Cameron Miller flips his commitment from Wisconsin to Kentucky.

It has been an eventual National Signing Day for Kentucky football. Offensive lineman Tucker Kattus flipped his commitment to the Clemson Tigers, then running back Marquise Davis flipped to Missouri. The Wildcats responded by flipping receiver Cameron Miller from Wisconsin on Wednesday.

Miller is a 5’11”, 165 lb wide receiver out of New Jersey. He is rated three stars by 247sports, and is ranked as the number 488 overall player in the 2025 class.

Kentucky offered Miller back in January, but he chose the Badgers in May. However, on December third, he decommitted from Wisconsin and quickly announced a decision to attend Kentucky instead.

Miller played both receiver and cornerback, and also fielded offers from schools like Ohio State, Texas A&M, and the Michigan Wolverines.

The Wildcats have five commitments from receivers in the 2025 class, if Miller plays on the offense. With Dane Key transferring, and Barion Brown possibly joining him, they’ll need to find contributors, and Miller has the potential to make an impact.

Another notable recruit decommits from Wisconsin’s class of 2025

Three-star wide receiver decommits from Wisconsin class of 2025

Three-star wide receiver Cameron Miller decommitted from Wisconsin’s class of 2025 on Tuesday.

The promising prospect committed to UW on May 15 over several other offers from programs such as Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Texas A&M and Nebraska.

His decommitment follows Wisconsin’s in-season firing of offensive coordinator Phil Longo. Miller had profiled as a slot receiver in Longo’s air raid attack.

“I would like to thank Coach Fickell, Coach Guiton, and Coach Longo for believing me and giving me the opportunity to play at the next level,” Miller wrote on X. “After talking with my family I’ve decided to recommit from the University of Wisconsin.”

247Sports currently considers the three-star prospect as the No. 488 player in the class of 2025, No. 74 wide receiver and 12 recruit from his home state of New Jersey. Shortly after Miller’s announcement, 247Sports insiders Evan Flood, Nick Osen and Brian Dohn all released crystal ball predictions forecasting Miller to land with the Kentucky Wildcats

Miller is the fourth class of 2025 talent to decommit from Wisconsin’s program. He follows three-star kicker Erik Schmidt’s flip to Notre Dame, three-star LB Brenden Anes’ flip to Tennessee and three-star defensive lineman Wilnerson Telemaque’s flip to West Virginia.

Luke Fickell’s program has, however, flipped top-ranked class of 2025 defensive lineman Jaylen Williams, four-star quarterback Carter Smith and three-star cornerback Cairo Skanes over the past month.

After Miller’s decision, Wisconsin’s class of 2025 ranks No. 23 in the nation with 24 players committed. Three-star Eugene Hilton Jr. is the only wide receiver to commit to UW’s 2025 cohort.

BREAKING: Wisconsin lands commitment from highly-touted 2025 WR Cameron Miller

Wisconsin adds another class of 2025 commitment:

Wisconsin landed a commitment from class of 2025 three-star wide receiver Cameron Miller on Wednesday.

Miller chose the Badgers over offers from top programs including Kentucky, Boston College, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State and Texas A&M.

The three-star slot receiver is 247Sports’ No. 423-ranked player in the class of 2025, No. 31 wide receiver and No. 14 recruit from his home state of New Jersey. His offer sheet tells a different story than his 247Sports ranking — one of a player better than a three-star billing. Of note, On3 does have Miller as a four-star prospect.

The wide receiver has an official visit scheduled with Wisconsin for the weekend of May 31. He previously received several crystal ball predictions to choose Luke Fickell’s program dating back to March, making today not a huge surprise.

His commitment brings Wisconsin’s class of 2025 to 11 total players. It is now ranked as the No. 16 class in the nation.

Rutgers football lands in the top five for elite New Jersey playmaker Cameron Miller

Cameron Miller has a top five that includes Rutgers football.

Cameron Miller has Rutgers football making his latest cutdown. Friday’s top five from Miller is good news for the Scarlet Knights as they pursue one of New Jersey’s top recruits.

Miller, a defensive back from Winslow Township (Atco, New Jersey), is a four-star recruit according to On3. He is a consensus top-10 player in New Jersey.

The cutdown to five schools sees Rutgers in the mix along with Kentucky, Michigan, Syracuse and Wisconsin.

He recently spoke to RutgersWire about his recruitment, including his thoughts on the Scarlet Knights.

Some significant programs such as Georgia, Miami, Oregon and Penn State did not make Miller’s cut down.

He posted his decision on social media on Friday afternoon, saying that these are the programs that he will be focused on in his recruitment moving forward.

At Winslow, Miller is coached by [autotag]Bill Belton[/autotag], a former standout running back at Penn State. Belton is a young, rising mover in the New Jersey high school coaching ranks.

Michigan football makes top five for 2025 four-star cornerback

Would be a huge get for #GoBlue

Michigan received some good news on the recruiting trail today with an inclusion in the top-five list of 2025 four-star cornerback Cameron Miller from Winslow Township High School in Atco, New Jersey.

Miller holds a grade of .9042 from the 247Sports Composite which makes him the 286th player in the country and the 30th-ranked cornerback. Miller is listed at 5-foot-11 and 165 pounds and would be a huge land in the wake of Chris Ewald’s decommitment. Ewald was the highest-rated player in the class and would have been a terrific recruiting leader on the trail.

Miller’s top five is comprised of Kentucky, Michigan, Rutgers, Syracuse, and Wisconsin. He also has offers reported from Georgia, Ohio State, and Texas A&M.

Michigan has some holes in the current roster in terms of cornerback depth. Sure, the Wolverines boast arguably the best player at the position in all of college football in Will Johnson, but there’s not much depth after that. The starter for 2023 was transfer Josh Wallace who has declared for the draft, and high-ceiling sophomore Amorion Walker transferred to Ole Miss during the offseason. Michigan was able to pull three cornerbacks in the 2023 class, but with Cam Calhoun’s departure for Utah, there remains just Jyaire Hill and DJ Waller from 2023.

Projecting the depth chart for 2025 and beyond is admittedly a little silly, but there is a legitimate hole on the roster at boundary cornerback. Landing two or three high-level cornerbacks in the 2025 class is imperative to the team’s ability to field a competitive team. Michigan might dip into the portal over the summer for another veteran, but if that does not happen there will be an inexperienced starter across from Johnson in Week 1 and beyond.

Landing Miller would do little to solve the problem in 2024 or even 2025, but building up multiple high-level recruits at cornerback is not something Michigan has been able to do for the past three or more cycles.

Four-star Cameron Miller talks Rutgers football, recent visit (and upcoming Big Ten visits)

Cameron Miller breaks down his recruitment and where things stand with Rutgers football.

Rutgers football continues to do well with Cameron Miller following his recent visit to campus. Miller is one of New Jersey’s top recruits in this current cycle.

Last week, Miller was at Rutgers for an unofficial visit and saw the men’s basketball team and their overtime comeback win against Nebraska. He was one of several recruits at the game who got some time at the Hale Center with the coaching staff.

A four-star athlete, On3 ranks him as the sixth-best recruit in New Jersey in the 2025 class. He is On3’s No. 165 recruit in the nation.

Miller is a 5-foot-10 defensive back from Winslow Township (Atco, New Jersey).

The trip to Rutgers, he said, was beneficial and positive in his relationship with the Scarlet Knights.

“Definitely got to see how they operate a little bit more,” Miller told Rutgers Wire.

“I’ve seen the development within the guys – you know and things like that I got to see actually a lot.”

Miller will be at either Penn State or Michigan this week. The first weekend of February he is scheduled to be at Kentucky.

A timetable to cut down his current offer list may not be on his schedule. Instead, Miller could be comfortable making a decision in the not-too-distant future.

A top five, or something like that, is a path he may not choose to pursue he said.

“When it’s time to decide, I’ll decide,” Miller said.

“I’m getting pretty close but it might carry on until the official visits.”

When asked about the program showing him the most love, he said “Definitely Rutgers” followed by Michigan.

[lawrence-related id=34447,34423]

“The love that comes from Rutgers is always great. Like I told you, you know, every single time I go up there it’s always a good time,” Miller said.

“They show me a good time (and) I learn something. It’s about football – is always about business. So you know, I love that.”

This was the first winning season for Rutgers since 2014 and their first bowl eligibility since that same year. They defeated Miami in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl in what was a rather strong performance from the Big Ten program.

Playing the second-toughest schedule in the nation, Rutgers finished 7-6 (3-5 Big Ten). Miller saw progress this season.

“I see the growth…I see the development of the program and you know, it’s nice seeing it, especially coming from a lot of losing seasons and things like that,” Miller said.

“It’s definitely a plus to see them getting better and see them building.”

Rutgers football recruiting: What recruits visited campus on Wednesday?

Wednesday kick started recruiting for Rutgers football and the 2024 class.

Recruiting for the 2025 class has been underway for a while, but the cycle took a big step forward for Rutgers football this week with the visit of four high-profile recruits.

The recruits took in the men’s basketball game on Wednesday night, a thrilling overtime win over Nebraska.

The Rutgers football four recruits on campus for the unofficial visit were:

Rutgers currently has one commit in their 2025 class, quarterback Sean Ashenfelder from Creekside (St. Augustine, FL), In 2023 as a junior, in 11 games played, Ashenfelder was 66-of-109 for 923 yards with nine touchdowns and three interceptions.

During his recruitment, Ahenfelder was offered by Pittsburgh, UCF, Cincinnati, UConn, Liberty, USF, Virginia Tech and West Virginia among others. He was offered by Rutgers in early February:

Elite New Jersey athlete Cameron Miller has Rutgers football in his top eight

Cameron Miller cut his list down to eight programs over the weekend.

Cameron Miller released his top eight over the weekend, with Rutgers football in the mix of what is an absolutely loaded field.

A class of 2025 athlete from Winslow Township High School (Atco, N.J.), Miller had a weekend cut down that includes Michigan, Penn State, Georgia, Syracuse, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Illinois and Rutgers.

A number of programs such as Boston College, Duke, Maryland, Michigan State, Temple, Virginia Tech and West Virginia did not make the cut down to eight programs.

He is listed as 5-foot-10 and 165 pounds.

In the On3 Industry Rankings, Miller is a consensus three star athlete. He is the ninth best player in New Jersey in the 2025 class and ranked nationaly as the No. 28 cornerback. Per the 247 Sports Composite, he is a four-star recruit.

In January, he visited Rutgers football for a recruiting event. He said it was a good experience.

“The visit was great we had good food really good food,” Miller told Rutgers Wire in late January.
“Nice tour around and a good photo shoot. The offer was great – it’s always good when you receive an offer, especially from a spot where your mom graduated. But overall a great day and I definitely enjoyed it.”

Penn State in Top 8 for 2025 cornerback target

Penn State finds itself among the top schools for this Class of 2025 cornerback target from New Jersey.

With the class of 2024 recruiting almost finished for Penn State, it’s time to turn their attention over to the class of 2025. There are already three commitments secured for the Nittany Lions in the class with two of them being four-stars and one a three-star.

There will still be a long way to go in the recruitment process of those three prospects as all of them are out of state players. It’s a great sign that the program has been able to secure commitments from these players, indicating a strong relationship between them and the coaching staff.

On Friday, another 2025 prospect announced that he is eyeing Penn State as his college football team. Three-star [autotag]Cameron Miller[/autotag] released his top eight schools heading into the fall. Listed as a cornerback in the recruiting databases, he also plays wide receiver in high school.

Among Penn State, others on the list include Michigan, Georgia, Wisconsin, Illinois, West Virginia, Syracuse and Rutgers.

The 5’10” 165 pound cornerback is from New Jersey. Two of the three Penn State commitments in the class of 2025, [autotag]Jaelyne Matthews[/autotag] and [autotag]Omari Gaines[/autotag], are also from New Jersey.

On3’s industry rankings have Miller rated as a four-star prospect even though all four of the major recruiting services have him as a three-star.

Penn State was the first school who offered Miller back in August 2021 before he even played a single snap of high school football. He received 20 scholarship offers from schools before cutting his list down to eight.

On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Nittany Lions as the favorites to land the cornerback. They’re sitting with a 68.2% chance, while Michigan is second with a 68.2% chance.

He’s visited Penn State the most of any school with six unofficial visits. The only other schools he’s visited are Georgia and Michigan once.

“My relationship with Coach Smith is great,” Miller told BlueWhiteIllustrated. “He’s a very upfront dude that loves the game of football. What makes him unique is that he uses all of his guys. Some coaches may have a select few, but with Coach Smith, he gets everyone playing time if you’re ready.”

It’s a good start in the recruitment process for a player who seems to be trending towards four-star status.

Michigan football makes top group for four-star 2025 CB

Big talent from the Garden State. #GoBlue

Michigan football hasn’t exactly gotten who it’s wanted in the 2024 recruiting cycle at the cornerback position. While the Wolverines are still working on their expanded board, with the first commitment coming from Purdue flip Jo’Ziah Edmond, they’re also turning their attention to 2025.

One future target appears to be entertaining the maize and blue as he included Michigan in his recently updated top group.

An emerging player with 19 reported offers, 2025 Atco (N.J.) Winslow Prep four-star cornerback Cameron Miller dropped his top eight on Friday afternoon, and Michigan football made the cut along with Georgia, Penn State, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Syracuse, Illinois and West Virginia.

Miller is listed by the 247Sports Composite as a four-star prospect at No. 296 overall in the 2025 recruiting cycle. The scouting report from 247Sports’ Brian Dohn:

Has verified size with ability to add more mass and strength without losing speed or elusiveness. Multi-sport profile includes sprinting events. Productive player with two-way snaps. Flashes big-play ability on offense. Can develop and play on either side of ball in college. Tracks ball well. Has very good body control. Shows physical side at corner and has closing speed. Knows how to win 50-50 balls. Is comfortable in backpedal as corner. Knows how to re-route receiver. Drives on ball well and does a nice job with body position. Reacts quickly and can get out of breaks quickly with receiver. Is willing to come up and make tackle on edge. On offense, is sure-handed and can make difficult catch look routine. Has speed to get behind defense. Knows how to set up defensive backs. Can adjust to inaccurate balls and is instinctive. Understands how to work back to quarterback. Comfortable catching ball in traffic. Can make yards after catch with slashing running style. Is slippery in open field. Has to continue to develop frame to add strength to handle physical aspect of game. Sometimes rounds routes going into breaks on offense. Can be a high-level player at Top 20 program.

Michigan has, in the past, had success in the state of New Jersey, having gotten players such as Jabrill Peppers and Rashan Gary. With Chris Partridge back on staff as the linebackers coach, the Wolverines certainly could go back to finding success plundering the Garden State.
