Michigan State football commit defensive lineman Cal Thrush has officially received an offer from the Spartans.

Thrush announced on Thursday that he’s received his official scholarship offer from the Spartans. August 1 was the first day that programs could officially extend a scholarship offer to players in the 2025 class.

Thrush is ranked as the No. 100 defensive lineman in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2025 class.

Thrush committed to Michigan State in late June.

MSU gets their second 2025 commit of the day:

Michigan State has picked up its second commitment of the day in the 2025 recruiting class, this time earning a commitment from Cal Thrush.

Thrush, a Columbus, Ohio, native visited the Spartans on June 14 before making a midweek visit to Ohio State, and then making his decision.

Thrush is a 6-foot-4, 250 pound defensive end that is a 3-star prospect.

Michigan State football has added another guest to its official visits list for next month.

Cal Thrush of Columbus, Ohio has locked in an official visit to Michigan State for June 14 – 16. Thrush is a three-star edge rusher in the 2025 class.

Thrush ranks as the No. 90 edge rusher in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2025 class. He’s also listed as the No. 1,253 overall prospect in the class.

Michigan State is one of more than 10 programs to extend an offer to Thrush, according to 247Sports. Other notable schools to offer Thrush includes Air Force, Army, Navy, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Toledo, Ball State, Miami (OH) and Kent State.
