Michigan State football is one of four schools still in the running for a three-star edge rusher from Brooklyn.

Caden Brown included Michigan State in his top four schools list he released on Saturday. The Spartans were joined by Penn State, Maryland and Rutgers.

Brown ranks as the No. 35 edge rusher and No. 464 overall prospect in the country for the 2024 class, according to 247Sports. He’s also listed as the No. 2 player from the state of New York.

Brown holds offers from 15 schools, according to 247Sports. Michigan State extended him an offer in July of 2022.

Caden Brown announces an all-Big Ten top four that includes Rutgers football

Rutgers football makes the cutdown for Erasmus Hall standout Caden Brown.

New York defensive lineman Caden Brown has Rutgers football in his final four with a possible summer decision looming. All four of Brown’s finalists are Big Ten programs.

Brown, one of the top recruits from New York, included Rutgers along with Maryland, Michigan State and Penn State. A calss of 2023 recruit, Brown is a standout edge player from Erasmus Hall (Brooklyn, N.Y.). He is 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds.

According to On3, Brown is a four-star recruit and the top player in New York for this recruiting cycle.

Not making the cutdown for Brown are programs that offered such as Cincinnati, Liberty, Nebraska, Syracuse, Washington and West Virginia.

In March, Brown took a visit to Penn State. In early April, he was on campus at Rutgers, arguably the program he has visited the most.

He posted his cutdown to four early on Saturday afternoon.

 

Brown is powerful and explosive off the edge. He has good balance and has shown the ability to dominate at an Erasmus Hall program that is among the best in the region.

Rutgers football recruiting: Brookyln’s Caden Brown pulled in multiple Power Five offers this past week

Rutgers football recruit Caden Brown has two new offers from Power Five programs. The Erasmus Hall standout is a national recruit.

One of the top defensive linemen in the class of 2024, Caden Brown is generating some impressive offers on the recruiting trail.

A 6-foot-4, 220-pound defensive end from Erasmus Hall (Brooklyn, N.Y), Brown is ranked a three-star by Rivals where he is also the fourth-ranked player in the state. Over the past week, Brown has received Power Five offers from Georgia Tech and Cincinnati.

He now holds Power Five offers from Boston College, Maryland, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and West Virginia

Brown is a standout for Erasmus, one of the top programs in the tri-state region. They finished last season 11-2, winning their last 11 games.

Rutgers is recruiting Brown heavily along with his Erasmus Hall teammate Aaris Bethea.

 

A 6-foot-2, 250-pound interior defensive lineman, Bethea is being recruited by a number of the same programs as Brown. The duo of Bethea and Brown are considered one of the best pass rushing combos in the nation.

Erasmus Hall is a powerhouse program in New York football and has generated quite a strong recruiting pipeline to Rutgers over the years.

Four-star Caden Brown set to visit Rutgers football this weekend

Rutgers football will host four-star Caden Brown this weekend.

Syracuse on Friday. Rutgers on Saturday.

It will be a big weekend for Caden Brown, one of the top recruits in the nation in the class of 2024. A four-star recruit in the 247Sports Composite, Brown is a standout at Erasmus Hall (Brooklyn, N.Y.).  He is the second-highest ranked recruit in New York according to 247.

Brown will be at Rutgers on Saturday night for the Big Ten opener against Iowa.

Erasmus Hall, one of the top teams in New York, is 0-2 to start the season after playing a strong schedule. They lost to St. Joseph’s Prep (Philadelphia, PA) in the season opener, a 14-7 loss. This past weekend, they lost to Rock Creek Christian Academy (Upper Marlboro, MD) 32-30.

Brown holds Power Five offers from Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, Syracuse and West Virginia as well as Rutgers.

The Scarlet Knights have recruited Erasmus Hall heavily, including standout players such as wide receivers Aron Cruickshank and Sean Ryan as well as defensive back Kessawn Abraham. Defensive end Jahzion Harris, who joined Rutgers as a transfer this summer, is also from Erasmus Hall.

Michigan State is looking to expand its recruiting footprint to the state of New York in offering a high-level 2024 edge rusher.

Four-star edge rusher Caden Brown of Brooklyn announced on Saturday that he’s received a scholarship offer from the Spartans. Michigan State is the fourth Big Ten school to offer him, joining Penn State, Rutgers and Nebraska.

Brown is ranked as the No. 22 edge rusher and No. 267 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2024 class. He’s also ranked as the No. 2 player from the state of New York.
