Seahawks 90-man roster by jersey number going into summer break

Tomorrow mandatory minicamp is set to begin, so let’s take a look at the full roster heading in.

The Seahawks are reportedly signing former NC State running back Ricky Person Jr., which brings the offseason roster to 91 including offensive tackle Max Pircher, who has an international roster exception. The move is as yet unofficial so we don’t have a jersey number for Person as of yet, but we now know that former Browns quarterback P.J. Walker will be wearing No. 15.

Here’s the updated roster by jersey number going into summer break.

Seahawks make P.J. Walker signing official, waive rookie DT to make room

To make room for Walker on the 90-man roster, the team has waived rookie defensive tackle Buddha Jones.

The Seahawks have made official Friday’s reported signing of former Browns quarterback P.J. Walker. An undrafted QB out of Temple, Walker has been a practice squad option for the Colts and a backup for the Panthers and Browns. During his brief time in the XFL, Walker went 5-0 and looked like an MVP. However, in nine career starts in the NFL he’s gone 5-4 with six touchdowns, 16 interceptions and a passer rating of 52.2.

Walker takes over the No. 3 spot on the depth chart at quarterback beneath Geno Smith and Sam Howell. Odds are it will be difficult for him to make the initial 53-man roster unless either Smith or Howell get injured.

To make room for Walker on the 90-man roster, the team has waived rookie defensive tackle Buddha Jones.

Seahawks add another DT to roster at the end of rookie minicamp

According to a report by Aaron Wilson, Seattle signed Troy defensive tackle Buddha Jones at the end of minicamp.

On Friday the Seahawks announced that they had signed 16 undrafted free agents. That put the roster at 89 players going into rookie minicamp, leaving one spot open. Apparently they have already found somebody to fill it.

According to a report by Aaron Wilson, Seattle signed Troy defensive tackle Buddha Jones at the end of minicamp.

Jones (6-foot-3, 281 pounds) played one season at Kent State before transferring to Troy in 2021. Over the last two years there he totaled 6.5 tackles for a loss, two pass breakups and three fumbles recovered. He also scored one defensive touchdown.

To start out, Jones should probably considered the last man at the bottom of the interior defensive line depth chart.

Here’s 44 minutes of Jones you didn’t know you needed.
