Every player in Boston Celtics history who wore No. 12

Today’s installment focuses on the 34 players who wore No. 12 over the years as of September 2023.

The Boston Celtics have more retired jerseys than any other team in the NBA, but that doesn’t mean the rest of their jerseys have little history of interest tied to them.

In fact, with 17 titles to their name and decades of competitive basketball played in them, their unretired jersey numbers pack in some of the most history not hanging from the rafters of any team in the league. To that end, we have launched our accounting of that history, with every player in every jersey worn by more than one Celtics player in the storied franchise’s history accounted for.

Today’s installment focuses on the 34 players who wore No. 12 over the years as of September 2023.

Every player in Philadelphia 76ers history who has worn No. 12

Here is a list of all 30 players who have worn the No. 12 uniform in the history of the Philadelphia 76ers.

It’s summertime in the NBA, so it’s time to learn some history. The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the older franchises in the NBA. Their history dates to the 1949-50 season.

With that longevity, the team has had hundreds of players come through the City of Brotherly Love. Sixers Wire looks at the No. 13, which has been worn by 30 of those players in the history of the franchise.

This running series will go through all of the uniform numbers worn in franchise history. The previous edition of this series was a list compiling the five players who have worn the No. 13.

Here is the list of the 30 who have worn No. 12 in Sixers history:

Six Boston Celtics alumni make The Athletic’s John Hollinger’s 25 greatest NBA defenders list

A solid representation from the storied franchise.

The Athletic’s John Hollinger cut his front office teeth with the “grit and grind” Memphis Grizzlies, so it is safe to say that he knows a little bit about what makes a great defense exceptional compared to a good one.

So his new article highlighting (in his estimation) the 25 greatest defenders at any position in the 75-year history of the league, his assessment is probably a better one than most despite his effusive self-deprecation on the subject. And as one might expect with a franchise as storied as the Boston Celtics, there is a string Boston alumni contingent to be found populating his list — 6 of the 25, in fact.

Let’s take a look at the six Celtics alumni who made Hollinger’s top-25 all-time NBA defenders.

Bruce Bowen once spoke to Sixers, Joel Embiid about social media issues

Former NBA champion Bruce Bowen talked to Joel Embiid the Philadelphia 76ers about expectations and social media problems.

Former Philadelphia 76ers coach Brett Brown loved talking about his San Antonio Spurs days. After all, he was an assistant coach there for nine seasons before taking the job with Philadelphia in 2013.

During his time in San Antonio, he experienced a lot of success and worked with the likes of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, and Bruce Bowen among many others. Naturally, Brown would call upon those players to help his younger Sixers players.

While on ESPN’s Get Up, Bowen told a story of when he spoke to the Sixers when they were once in San Antonio. Bowen talked to them about seizing the moment and about their social media tendencies and one player who seemed to have an issue was Joel Embiid.

Bowen:

I was in San Antonio at the time, and Brett Brown and the 76ers were in town. He asked me to speak to the team. At this time they had JJ Redick. I talked about how the Clippers came up short. When Redick was there, along with Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan, Blake Griffin, and I said ‘You guys have to understand that it’s so much about the right now you have to play as if there’s no tomorrow because you’re not guaranteed to get anywhere’ and so after that conversation I talked about also stay of the media, stop tweeting so much and you know the one individual who had a problem with the whole meeting? It was Joel Embiid, because he felt like he was being chastised for the things that he had been saying all I’m saying this is if you’re going to say something for the world to see, don’t be surprised when people have ill will or ill thoughts about what you’re tweeting as far as I guess I’m a 5 man now.

Embiid has always been active and vocal on his social media whether it be Twitter or Instagram, but he backed it up on the floor more often than not. He is also only 26-years old right now and he does have some growing up to do, but he has already come so far. He is one of the top players in this league and Philadelphia is in good hands with him. Top five worst trades made in the history of the Philadelphia 76ers

We are now ranking the top five worst trades the Philadelphia 76ers ever made.

The Philadelphia 76ers are a franchise of history, tradition, and success–though there hasn’t been much success over the past two decades–but they also have made some awful transactions in their history.

Who could forget just deciding to trade one of the best big men the game has ever seen in Wilt Chamberlain? Or the awful Charles Barkley deal? We’re going to rank those plus a few others in order of the amount of awfulness.

These five deals are all bad, you can decide what’s the absolute worst, but the one thing that can be universally agreed is that the Sixers should not have agreed to any of these trades.

With that said, let’s get into it!
