Browns Vs Chargers highlight: McLaughlin stays perfect, gives Browns the lead

Browns versus Chargers should be a great game. We share with you one Browns highlight at a time with the kicker staying perfect to give the Browns the lead:

The Cleveland Browns face off with the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5 of the NFL season. Both teams enter the week with a 3 – 1 record but the Browns go on the road with a lot of injuries impacting both sides of the ball.

The Chargers, on the other hand, are mostly healthy and playing some very good football early in the year.

After a quick three-and-out possession for the Los Angeles, Cleveland took the ball 75 yards on 10 plays but had to settle for a field goal attempt after a sack on Baker Mayfield from Derwin James.

Chase McLaughlin remained perfect on the season with a 35-yard field goal:

The Browns offense looked crisp at times running the ball and on Mayfield throws so far. The play calling has opened up some easy plays in both parts of the game.

We will keep you up to date with highlights throughout the game.

Browns Vs Chargers Inactives: Clowney inactice, McKinley & Hance to start

One big name is added to the others that were already listed out for the Browns this week in today’s inactives. No surprises on the Chargers list.

The Cleveland Browns will be without a few key players in Week 5 against the Los Angeles Chargers. With both teams coming in with a 3 – 1 record, Week 5 is an important week atop the AFC.

The following players will be inactive but were known prior to Sunday:

  • CB Greg Newsome II
  • LT Jedrick Wills
  • OL Chris Hubbard

Joining those three as inactive for this week will be the following including a big name on the defense:

  • DE Jadeveon Clowney
  • DB Richard LeCounte III
  • LB Tony Fields II
  • DT Tommy Togiai

Clowney was noted as questionable going into the game, along with a variety of other players on the defense. Clowney and Fields are the only two of the seven defenders listed as questionable that will miss the game.

Clowney is reportedly dealing with an elbow injury.

Takk McKinley will start in place of Clowney with Joe Jackson and Ifeadi Odenigbo getting his first activation this season.

At left tackle, Blake Hance will start in place of Wills with rookie James Hudson backing him up.

For the Chargers, the following are listed as inactive this week:

  • QB Easton Stick
  • RB Justin Jackson
  • DB Trey Marshall
  • OL Brenden Jaimes
  • TE Tre’ McKitty

3 ways the Browns can beat the Chargers Sunday

3 ways the Browns can beat the Chargers Sunday:

The Cleveland Browns face off with the Los Angeles Chargers in a huge Week 5 matchup in the AFC. Both teams sit at 3 – 1, tied with many others on top of the conference.

The Browns are struggling with a lot of injuries but have a great running game, dynamic weapons in the passing game and a defense that has come on strong the last couple of weeks.

The Chargers have a good young quarterback, a balanced offense and a defense with a few studs on it.

Going on the road, Cleveland will be without its top two left tackles and have a myriad of defenders listed as questionable for the game. Los Angeles welcomes their opponents in with a mostly healthy roster and a couple of quality wins under their belts.

How can the Browns win on the road in Week 5?

Browns make multiple roster moves Saturday

Walker is officially off injured reserve, Jackson is back to the practice squad and elevated for Week 5 along with Moffatt, giving the team options given all their defensive injury concerns:

Due to injuries and Andrew Berry’s desire to make the team the best he can, the Cleveland Browns have been full of roster moves throughout the early part of the season. With five brought in for workouts on Friday, we can expect more moves to come next week as well.

Saturday, the Browns made multiple moves that impact their roster for Week 5:

  • LB Anthony Walker was officially activated from the injured reserve after being designated for return earlier in the week.
  • DE Joe Jackson, who was waived earlier in the week, was added to the team’s practice squad.
  • Jackson and S Jovante Moffatt were elevated from the team’s practice squad to the active roster for Week 5.

Neither Jackson or Moffatt are certain to be active for this week’s game but the moves give the team options depending on how their multiple questionable designated players react in warmups.

Jackson and Moffatt will revert back to the team’s practice squad following the conclusion of Week 5.

Walker’s return should bump Malcolm Smith to a reserve role and give the team more speed at the linebacker spot. With Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah producing well early as a rookie, Cleveland hopes pairing the rookie with Walker will give them the best defense possible against the run and pass.

Browns Vs Chargers Week 5: How to watch, listen and stream

How to watch, listen and stream the Browns Week 5 late afternoon matchup with the Chargers:

While the Cleveland Browns season didn’t start the way they wanted, they have righted the ship and enter Week 5 of the NFL season with a 3 – 1 record. The Browns are still in position for all of their season-long goals as they sit tied for the best record in the AFC.

As head coach Kevin Stefanski reminds the team often, the primary goal is to go 1 – 0 every week. This week’s matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers presents with some extra challenges. Chris Hubbard may miss the season while Jedrick Wills and a whole host of Browns defenders are questionable to play in the game.

The Chargers are led by young QB Justin Herbert, a versatile passing game and a couple of studs on defense starting with Joey Bosa and Derwin James.

In what Cleveland hopes is a game to keep their momentum going, Browns Vs Chargers could be very challenging. Below are important game details about this Week 5 matchup. If you have questions about the game, reach out to us on Twitter @TheBrownsWire.
