Browns OT Ty Nsekhe leaves Seahawks game with a bicep injury

Offensive tackle Ty Nsekhe leaves Seahawks game with a bicep injury.

Offensive tackle Ty Nsekhe has been ruled out of the Seahawks game after suffering a bicep injury. The 38-year-old veteran tackle was signed to the Browns’ practice squad for most of the season. Nsekhe was promoted to the active roster yesterday. The journeyman tackle was injured in his only play. Hopefully, the injury isn’t too serious for the veteran tackle. It’s always sad to see a career put in jeopardy by injury.

The Browns lost starting offensive tackle Dawand Jones before halftime with a shoulder injury. James Hudson III is the current right tackle.

The Browns are battling the Seahawks going into the final minutes of the game. The team will have to depend on their offensive passing game at some moment during the end. Hopefully, they will not be further affected by injuries.

Browns OT Jack Conklin carted off with knee injury vs. Bengals

Jack Conklin leaves the Browns-Bengals game early with a lower leg injury.

Cleveland Browns starting right tackle Jack Conklin left the matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals during the second quarter. The former All-Pro injured his lower leg after a Bengals defensive player rolled into him. Trainers quickly ran out to assess him before carting him off the field.

Rookie fourth round pick Dawand Jones is now starting at right tackle after the departure of Conklin. Jones had a stellar tenure at Ohio State and was one of the very best rookies in the preseason as well. He will now have a ton on his plate right away after the injury to the former All-Pro right tackle.

Conklin has been unlucky staying healthy during his tenure with the Browns. Conklin has been ruled out for the game and it looks like his season may very well be over after another injury on his tab.

The Browns just signed Conklin to a contract extension last season.

Browns Injury Alert: Amari Cooper leaves game with apparent leg injury vs. Bengals

Amari Cooper left the Browns Bengals game during the 1st quarter with a lower leg injury.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper walked off the field during the first quarter of the Cincinnati Bengals game. Amari Cooper caught a 20-yard pass from Deshaun Watson to place the Browns near the red zone. Amari slipped when catching the pass and remained on the wet field. The trainers checked out his knee and lower leg before helping him to his feet. Amari was able to walk off the field with minimal help. He is currently being assessed in the medical tent.

The Browns-Bengals game has been a slick affair as the rain and mist have poured into the Cleveland Browns stadium. Both the Bengals and Browns have been negatively affected by the wetness so far. Hopefully, no player gets injured due to the weather conditions.

Since then, however, Cooper has been spotted walking around on the sideline for the Browns. He is back in the game for the Browns.

WR Daylen Baldwin ruled out with hamstring injury

Daylen Baldwin left the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game with a hamstring injury.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Daylen Baldwin suffered a hamstring injury during the second quarter. The second-year wide receiver has been ruled out for the rest of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game against the New York Jets.

Baldwin was seen walking into the injury tent under his own power, as reported by Mary Kay Cabot. The second-year wide receiver had a shaky game, dropping a deep pass in the first quarter. Baldwin is battling for a roster spot this season and a significant injury could derail his chances to make the team. Baldwin played in one game last year catching two passes for twenty-five yards in a victory over Baltimore.

Browns place CB Greedy Williams on IR ahead of Week 1

The Cleveland Browns place CB Greedy Williams on IR ahead of Week 1 and sign CB Herb Miller from the practice squad

The Cleveland Browns will be without Greedy Williams for a few weeks. The Browns placed the cornerback on the injured reserve list on Friday with a hamstring issue that was not getting better.

Williams was slated to play extensively in Joe Woods’ defense. The third-year corner from LSU played in 16 games a year ago, starting eight of them.

Rookie Martin Emerson figures to take over the role from Williams. Emerson played well in the preseason and has the ball skills and tackling ability to step right in and perform.

The Browns signed CB Herb Miller from the practice squad to the active roster to fill the vacancy created by placing Williams on IR. Miller showed some promise during training camp in Cleveland this summer.

Grant Delpit leaves Browns game vs. Bears with hip injury

Delpit walked off under his own power and appeared to be smiling as he headed to the locker room

The Cleveland Browns could not avoid getting an injury scare in the final preseason game. Safety Grant Delpit left the Browns matchup with the Chicago Bears in the first quarter of Friday night’s game at FirstEnergy Stadium with a hip injury.

The Browns officially listed Delpit as questionable to return. He walked off the field under his own power and was escorted by trainers to the locker room.

Our own Jared Mueller captured video from the stands of Delpit’s departure. The third-year safety appears to be smiling and not in obvious distress as he heads for further evaluation.

Baker Mayfield ‘pretty damn beat up’, could sit out Week 18

Mayfield talked about his competitive drive and his injuries after the Week 17 loss in Pittsburgh

Baker Mayfield had a miserable Monday night in Pittsburgh. The Browns quarterback was sacked nine times and took several other shots in Cleveland’s 26-14 loss to the Steelers in the Week 17 finale.

Already dealing with a torn labrum in his left shoulder, Mayfield looked and sounded like a man ready for the season to be over after the game.

“I’m an extremely competitive guy,” Mayfield said in his press conference. “Now it’s time for me to start looking at what’s in the best interest of me and my health.”

There is still one game left on the Browns schedule, a Week 18 date Sunday with the Bengals. Cleveland was already eliminated from postseason contention even before losing in Pittsburgh. Mayfield could sit that game out and get the ball rolling on his long-needed surgery to repair his left shoulder. He’s also suffering through a knee injury and a separate broken bone in his shoulder.

“I’ve continued to lay it out on the line when I haven’t been healthy and tried to fight for our guys,” Mayfield said. “Right now, I’m pretty damn beat up, to be honest with you. There’s no way around it. I gave it everything I had tonight.”

If that was the last of Mayfield for the 2021 season, it will not be a case of going off into the night fondly. Mayfield set a dubious mark of throwing 10 straight incompletions, the only quarterback to do so in the NFL this year. He finished 16-for-38 for 185 yards, throwing two second-half touchdowns but also two interceptions, and had five passes swatted down at the line.

A ‘beat up’ Baker Mayfield sits out Browns practice with knee and shoulder injuries

A ‘beat up’ Baker Mayfield sits out Browns practice with knee and shoulder injuries

Baker Mayfield did not practice with his Cleveland Browns teammates on Wednesday. The starting quarterback is nursing several injuries, including a knee injury added to his ongoing left shoulder issues.

After acknowledging that he’s feeling better than he did after Sunday’s blowout loss to the New England Patriots, Mayfield let on how much he’s hurting.

“This is probably the most beat up I have been in my career, and it is not like it is one particular thing; it is multiple,” Mayfield said on Wednesday. “It is just that time of the year, and things add up. Just a couple of things after another. It is what it is.”

Mayfield is intent upon playing Sunday when the Browns host the Detroit Lions. But he did leave open the possibility that the injuries could keep him limited.

“At this point, I am just taking it one day at a time. I have plenty of time until Sunday. We will see what happens,” Mayfield told reporters.

The Browns have suffered several key injuries on offense over the last few weeks. Mayfield, Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, Jack Conklin and others have been in and out of the lineup in recent weeks. But Mayfield doesn’t want — or expect — any sympathy.

“It has been tough, but I do not think anybody gives a damn. There is no reason to get into that. Nobody cares. Nobody wants to feel bad for us. It is what it is. That is alright.”

Jack Conklin out ‘multiple weeks’ with dislocated elbow

Conklin had missed two games with a knee injury and couldn’t make it through his return to the Browns lineup

Jack Conklin’s return to the lineup as the Cleveland Browns’ starting right tackle proved to be a brief one. Conklin suffered an elbow injury in Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers that will keep him sidelined for at least a few weeks.

Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski delivered the unfortunate update on Conklin’s elbow during his press briefing on Monday. Stefanski could not provide a firm timetable on Conklin’s prognosis other than “multiple weeks”, though he did leave open the possibility the Pro Bowl right tackle could return before the end of the season.

Conklin had missed two games with a knee injury prior to returning for Sunday’s key AFC North matchup with the Steelers. Blake Hance is expected to take over for Conklin as he has done in the last two games. When Conklin is placed on injured reserve, the team can sign Alex Taylor from the practice squad as a potential depth replacement.

The Browns travel to Cincinnati to face the Bengals in Week 9.

Nick Chubb, Jack Conklin both practice and hopeful to play vs. Steelers

Conklin indicated he was “healthy and read to roll” while Chubb was more cautiously optimistic

The lengthy list of injured Cleveland Browns players is mercifully getting smaller, and two key players who missed the Week 7 win over the Denver Broncos could be back for Sunday’s key AFC North battle against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Running back Nick Chubb (calf) and right tackle Jack Conklin (knee) were both participants in Wednesday’s practice session in Berea. Both Chubb and Conklin spoke as if they expect to play on Sunday in FirstEnergy Stadium, too.

Chubb was asked prior to practice if he thinks he will play against Pittsburgh.

“I hope so,” Chubb said. “We’ll see how this week goes, how this practice goes and make the decision later on.”

Conklin joined veteran center JC Tretter, who normally gets Wednesday’s off, to give the Browns their intact starting five offensive linemen for practice for the first time in weeks. Conklin has missed the last two games.

“Bummed to miss two games like that, but happy to be back and healthy and I’m ready to roll,” Conklin confidently told reporters.

Several Browns regulars did not participate in practice, including WR Jarvis Landry and DE Jadeveon Clowney. Landry’s knee injury that kept him out is unrelated to the one that kept him on IR for several weeks prior to Week 7.
