Bills sign CB Herb Miller to practice squad

#Bills sign CB Herb Miller to practice squad:

Following the injury update to cornerback Tre’Davious White, the Buffalo Bills have announced a relating transaction.

White’s season came to an end in Week 4. The defender tore his Achilles.

Days later, the team announced that cornerback Herb Miller was signed to the practice squad. In a corresponding move, receiver Marcell Ateman was released from the practice squad.

Miller, 25, spent the 2023 offseason with the Carolina Panthers. He originally entered the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs after going undrafted out of Florida Atlantic in 2019. He spent 2020 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the year they won the Super Bowl.

The 2021 and 2022 seasons saw Miller with the Cleveland Browns.

Mostly a special teamer and depth player, Miller has appeared in 17 games in his career. He has notched one interception.

Miller will add to Buffalo’s depth at defensive back but he is not expected to see immediate game time.

Ateman signed with the Bills this offseason and spent training camp with the team before signing to the practice squad.

Panthers sign CB Herb Miller to futures deal

On Tuesday, the Panthers signed CB Herb Miller—who won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers in 2020.

On Monday, the Carolina Panthers signed nine players fresh off their 2022 campaign. On Tuesday, they inked another—and a former Super Bowl champion, at that.

As announced by the team this afternoon, cornerback Herb Miller has been added on a reserve/futures deal.

The 25-year-old has spent the last two seasons with the Cleveland Browns. Miller played in 13 games there between 2021 and 2022—amassing six tackles as well as a 48-yard return off a fumble recovery.

Prior to that stint, the Florida Atlantic University product broke into the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019. He would be waived by the organization prior to the start of that regular season.

Miller then stuck on with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, starting as a practice squad member in December of 2019. He saw his first NFL action during Tampa Bay’s 2020 Super Bowl run, where he totaled five tackles and an interception over four games.

Browns bring Herb Miller back to the practice squad… again

The Browns have brought back Herb Miller to their practice squad. Again.

After releasing him earlier this week, the Cleveland Browns have brought cornerback Herb Miller back on their practice squad according to The OBR’s Brad Stainbrook. Back and forth, Miller has seen quite a bit of movement within the Browns organization in 2022.

He did not make the roster at the end of training camp, cleared waivers and signed on the practice squad, has been signed to the active roster, cut, and is now back on the practice squad. Miller has been elevated from the practice squad on gamedays as well and has proven to be a contributor on special teams.

It may just be a hunch, but this is probably not the last time Miller’s name will be in the news this season.

Browns sign WR Cyril Grayson to practice squad, release Herb Miller

The Browns have made another move to their practice squad, signing wide receiver Cyril Grayson and releasing Herb Miller from their reserves

The Cleveland Browns have made another move to their practice squad. After swapping out one center for another on the practice squad yesterday, the Browns have now signed wide receiver Cyril Grayson to their reserve unit today. In order to make room for this move, the Browns have also released cornerback Herb Miller.

Grayson, listed at 5-foot-9 and 183 pounds, played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers all three seasons leading up to 2022. He is an undrafted free agent out of LSU via the 2017 NFL Draft but did not see action until 2019.

A year ago, Grayson caught ten passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns from Tom Brady. He has also returned two kicks in his career, providing limited special teams value as well.

At the end of the day, however, Grayson now brings 4.33 40 yard dash speed to the Cleveland practice squad.

Browns sign Thomas Graham Jr., Herb Miller to active roster, elevate 2 more vs. Bengals

The Browns have signed Thomas Graham Jr. and Herb Miller to their active roster, elevating two more for their game vs. the Bengals.

The Cleveland Browns opened up two roster spots this week when they placed both linebacker Jacob Phillips and offensive lineman Joe Haeg on Injured Reserve. With just four hours until game time, the Browns have filled those spots by signing cornerbacks Thomas Graham Jr. and Herb Miller to the active roster.

Additionally, the Browns have elevated linebacker Dakota Allen and tight end, Miller Forristall, to their gameday roster against the Cincinnati Bengals tonight. With the injury to David Njoku, and with Pharaoh Brown just emerging from the concussion protocol, the elevation of Forristall makes a great deal of sense. With Phillips likely out for the season, adding another gameday linebacker to the mix in Allen also adds up.

The Browns will look to end their four-game skid with a home win over the Bengals tonight.

Browns also elevating LB Dakota Allen from practice squad

The Browns are elevating Dakota Allen to the active roster in addition to Herb Miller for the game against the Baltimore Ravens

The busy week of linebacker Dakota Allen continues. First, he was signed to the active roster of the Cleveland Browns a week ago but was then released this week in anticipation of the activation of Deion Jones. He was then added back to the practice squad, and now will be elevated from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.

It was already reported by The OBR’s Brad Stainbrook that cornerback Herb Miller would be elevated from the practice squad, and now we know the second player. While it was already reported that it was going to happen, linebacker Deion Jones has officially been activated from the Injured Reserve as well.

Browns elevating CB Herb Miller from practice squad vs. Ravens

The Browns are elevating Herb Miller from the practice squad for their bout with the Ravens

With cornerback Denzel Ward set to miss his second game due to a concussion, the Cleveland Browns are elevating Herb Miller from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens according to The OBR’s Brad Stainbrook. Thus far on the season, Miller has been elevated from the practice squad twice, while playing during Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers as a member of the active roster.

Browns make slew of roster moves for matchup vs. Patriots

As the Cleveland Browns prepare for the New England Patriots, they have made a slew of roster moves.

With the New England Patriots on the docket tomorrow at FirstEnergy Stadium, the Cleveland Browns have made three roster moves. Unfortunately, one of those moves was not the activation of newly acquired linebacker Deion Jones, as he likely makes his debut next week against the Baltimore Ravens.

Elevations from the practice squad are not a new thing for all 32 teams, and churning the bottom of the roster is a common practice by the Browns. Both of these are moves they made today, as well as the activation of a player off of Injured Reserve and back onto the active roster.

We take a look at the three roster moves here and discuss their repercussions.

Browns sign CB from Bears practice squad, add WR to their practice squad

Browns confirm the addition of Graham off the Bears practice squad as well as signing a potential returner to their own practice squad:

The Cleveland Browns may be one of the most active teams in the NFL. Rarely a week goes by without GM Andrew Berry making a move.

Monday, Berry waived CB Herb Miller a day after his possession-saving recovery of Demetric Felton’s fumble. In that report, we noted that the team had reportedly already decided who they would be adding to the roster but had not become official.

Tuesday that move became official with Cleveland signing CB Thomas Graham Jr. off of the Chicago Bears practice squad. Graham was a sixth-round pick in 2021 and played in four games for the Bears last year.

The Browns also signed WR Chester Rogers to their practice squad. Rogers has compiled 1,522 yards receiving in four seasons between Indianapolis and Tennesee. He has also returned punts throughout his career.

Once up to speed, it is possible that Rogers will take over for Felton in the return game while Graham will have important responsibilities in special teams as well.
