Nets at 76ers game preview: How to watch, TV channel, start time

Here’s the preview of Nets-76ers for Game 1 on Saturday.

The Brooklyn Nets visit Wells Fargo Center on Saturday to face the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 1 of their first-round series and if you’re wondering how you can watch the action live, you’ve come to the right place!

In a rematch of the 2019 first-round series between the two teams, there is a lot on the line for both teams. The Nets are trying to make the most out of this season after their superstar experiment with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden ended without much to show for it. With the current roster led by budding star Mikal Bridges, Brooklyn is looking to make their mark by pulling off an upset.

The 76ers come into this series hoping to make it farther than the second round and make something of this season. Philadelphia swept the regular-season series between the two teams, but only one of those games was in a contest that both teams were trying to win along with the Nets having this current roster.

Here’s when and where you can tune in to see the matchup:

Nets receive offers for Cam Thomas following Summer League dominance

Reports indicate that a few teams have made offers to the Brooklyn Nets for Cam Thomas, following his Summer League debut this year.

Following an incredible Summer League performance, Cam Thomas has reportedly gained interest from a few teams from around the league.

The young shooting guard comes to the NBA Summer League for the second-year in a row and sources suggest that a few teams have made “concrete” offers following his 31-point game against Milwaukee.

Nets reporter Brian Lewis of the New York Post confirms with sources that teams have gained interest in Thomas. According to LegionHoops, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans have actually tendered offers.

Lewis reports:

Sources told The Post that the Nets have received interest from multiple teams regarding the 6-foot-3, 210 pound guard, with league personnel saying he likely could bring back a first-round pick. The Cavaliers, Mavericks and Pelicans reportedly made concrete offers, according to LegionHoops.

His value has been on the rise after being a consistent role player in his rookie campaign for Brooklyn.

The Nets’ trade priority is currently former MVP Kevin Durant, who requested a trade from the team after only two seasons. After moving the sharpshooting forward, the team then needs to focus on moving disgruntled guard Kyrie Irving, which will be fun when it comes to balancing cap space.

Report: Mike James interested in return to Brooklyn Nets

Former Brooklyn Net Mike James is reportedly interested in reuniting with Kevin Durant and the Nets.

According to NetsDaily, a NBA correspondent has reported that Mike James, who had a brief stint with the Brooklyn Nets, is interested in reuniting with Kevin Durant.

Reportedly superstar Durant went to Greece and Monaco to watch James compete in the EuroLeague.

James made an impact for the Nets during the 2020-21 campaign, where he averaged seven points and four assists per game.

Currently James plays for French basketball team Monaco Basket, racking up 16 points and a handful of dimes.

Durant praised him as a playmaker towards the end of his Nets tenure. “He knows who he is as a player,” Durant said.

Prediction

Pistons 112, Nets 108

Moneyline (ML)

The PISTONS (+110) are slight moneyline underdogs in this contest against the Nets on Saturday night. While the Pistons haven’t been great at home this season (9-14), the Nets are in a bad slump as they have lost five straight games. Given that these two teams have a similar record, I like the value of the Pistons here at home as an underdog.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

If the moneyline is too risky of a bet for you, consider taking the PISTONS (+2.5) as a small underdog against the spread. While Detroit has covered in just six of their last 20 games, Brooklyn has failed to cover the spread in their last six road contests. Neither of these two teams has been particularly strong against the spread, so give me the points and the home team in this contest.

Over/Under (O/U)

The total for this Eastern Conference matchup is set at 226.5 points, which feels like a lot considering both of these teams average less than 110 points per game this season. While it’s true that both teams have below-average defenses, 226.5 points feels ambitious considering how streaky each side can be on offense. Expect both teams to come close to 110 points, but for the UNDER to ultimately hit.

How to Watch Brooklyn Nets, NBA Live Stream, Nets vs Bobcats, Schedule, TV Channel, Start Time

Watch the Brooklyn Nets 2019-20 Season Online.

The Brooklyn Nets were one of the pleasant surprises of the 2018-19 NBA season, with their young core earning a playoff spot ahead of schedule. This year, they come into the season with higher expectations as a result of some key player acquisitions in the offseason. In a wide open Eastern Conference, the Nets will look to exceed expectations once again.

The Nets won’t be at the peak of their power this season as they await the return of Kevin Durant from the injury he suffered in last year’s NBA Finals. However, the Nets will have Kyrie Irving to lead them this season after he signed as a free agent during the offseason. Irving is an artist with the basketball in his hands, but the question will be how the team’s chemistry changes with Irving now in the fold.

Also interesting will be how the young players on the Nets adjust to smaller roles after last season’s success. Players like Spencer Dinwiddie propelled the Nets for much of last season but will have to take a back seat to Irving and eventually Durant. If they can evolve into solid role players, the Nets could become championship contenders over the next couple of seasons. However, all of that starts with continued development from the young players on the roster this season.
