Broncos will face Super Bowl champion and runner-up in 2025

The Broncos will face the Chiefs (home and away) and Eagles (away) during the 2025 NFL season.

No matter who wins the Super Bowl on Sunday, the Denver Broncos are guaranteed to face the defending champion (and runner-up) during the 2025 NFL season.

The Kansas City Chiefs (home and away) and Philadelphia Eagles (away) are both on Denver’s list of 2025 opponents for next season. The Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes, will face Jalen Hurts and the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9.

Kansas City is also set to host Philadelphia next season, so that game could be a prime candidate for the NFL’s season opener in 2025.

The Broncos’ full list of 2025 opponents features the AFC West, AFC South and NFC East, plus same-place finishers from the AFC North (Cincinnati Bengals), AFC East (New York Jets) and NFC North (Green Bay Packers).

In addition to facing Mahomes and Hurts, Denver’s defense will also face a tough list of quarterbacks including Joe Burrow, Jayden Daniels, Justin Herbert, Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Dak Prescott and C.J. Stroud.

With an unbalanced 17-game schedule, the AFC and NFC rotate having eight or nine home games each season. After playing eight games at Empower Field at Mile High in 2024, the Broncos will have nine home games in 2025.

Broncos’ list of 2025 opponents includes rematch with Bengals

Bo Nix vs. Joe Burrow, Part II. The Broncos will host the Bengals in 2025.

We don’t even have a date yet, but there’s one matchup on the Denver Broncos‘ upcoming 2025 schedule that everyone will have circled on their calendars.

The Broncos’ list of 2025 opponents was finalized on Sunday and the team’s slate of home opponents includes a rematch with the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bengals beat the Broncos 30-24 in Week 17, but Denver then eliminated Cincinnati from playoff contention with a convincing win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 18.

The Broncos will be looking to counter their 2024 loss to the Bengals, and Cincinnati will be looking to let out some steam after Denver ultimately kept them out of the playoffs.

It’s the kind of game that would be perfect for a prime-time spotlight.

The Broncos’ full list of 2025 opponents features the AFC West, AFC South and NFC East, plus same-place finishers from the AFC North (Bengals), AFC East (New York Jets) and NFC North (Green Bay Packers).

In addition to facing Joe Burrow, Denver’s defense will also face a tough list of quarterbacks including Jayden Daniels, Justin Herbert, Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Dak Prescott and C.J. Stroud.

Broncos’ schedule of 2025 opponents nearly finalized

The Denver Broncos’ schedule of 2025 opponents will be finalized on Sunday.

The Denver Broncos‘ 2025 schedule of opponents is nearly finalized.

The Broncos are set to face the AFC West, AFC South and NFC East next season, plus same-place finishers from the AFC North, AFC East and NFC North. Denver has already clinched a third-place finish in the AFC West, and their opponents from two divisions has already been finalized.

The AFC North opponent was finalized when the Cincinnati Bengals clinched a third-place finish in their division. The Broncos’ 2025 schedule will now feature home games against Joe Burrow and Dak Prescott with road games against Jayden Daniels and Jalen Hurts.

The NFC North opponent will be the Green Bay Packers, who are locked into third place behind the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions.

The only remaining opponent that is TBD is from the AFC East. Denver will face either the New York Jets or New England Patriots in 2025.

Denver Broncos’ 2024 opponents are now finalized

We now know all of the Broncos’ opponents for the 2024 season, including Sean Payton making a return to New Orleans to face the Saints.

The Denver Broncos’ 2023 season came to an end on Sunday with a 27-14 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, marking the seventh straight year that Denver has missed the playoffs.

With the loss, the Broncos clinched a third-place finish in the AFC West, which means they will face the same-place finishers from the AFC South (Indianapolis Colts), AFC East (New York Jets) and NFC West (Seattle Seahawks) in 2024.

Denver’s list of 2024 opponents also includes a trip to Louisiana, setting up coach Sean Payton with a showdown against his former team, the New Orleans Saints.

Additionally, the team’s road schedule includes a trip east to visit the Baltimore Ravens, the AFC’s No. 1 team in 2023.

While we already know the opponents, the full 2024 NFL schedule with dates and times will not be announced until May. The league has announced its schedule between May 12-13 over the last three years. Fans can expect a similar timeline for this year’s announcement.

While we wait, here’s a look ahead at the Broncos’ future opponents for the 2024 schedule, with eight games at home and nine on the road.

Sunday’s game will determine final 3 opponents on Broncos’ 2024 schedule

The result of the Raiders game will dictate the Broncos’ opponents from the AFC South (home), AFC East (away) and NFC West (away) in 2024.

Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders does not have playoff implications for the Denver Broncos, but it does have 2024 implications.

If the Broncos win on Sunday, they will clinch second place in the AFC West. If Denver loses, Denver will clinch third place in the division. The team’s final standing in the division matters for the Broncos’ 2024 schedule.

We already know most of Denver’s opponents for next year due to the NFL’s rotating scheduling format, but three games are yet to be determined.

The Broncos will face same-place finishers from the AFC South (home), AFC East (away) and NFC West (away). If Denver finishes second in the AFC West, they will face the second-place teams from those respective divisions (and a third-place finish would net third-place opponents).

In addition to the Broncos-Raiders game, the results of three other games will also come into play this weekend because the AFC South is wide open and the AFC East is going down to the wire.

With the final three teams yet to be finalized, here’s a quick look at Denver’s known 2024 opponents so far.

Broncos’ list of 2024 opponents still in flux

Most of the Broncos’ 2024 opponents are already known, but same-place finishers from the AFC South, AFC East and NFC West are TBD.

Because the NFL has a set formula for the league’s rotating schedule, we already know most of the Denver Broncos’ 2024 opponents. However, three of the team’s future opponents are yet to be determined based on 2023 standings.

Usually, at this time of year, we have a good idea of who the TBD teams are likely to be based on division standings, but several division races are still wide open going into the final stretch of the 2023 season.

The Broncos will face same-place finishers from the AFC South (home), AFC East (road) and NFC West (road) in 2024. Right now, Denver (7-7) seems likely to finish in second place in the AFC West.

The Buffalo Bills (8-6) seem more likely than the Miami Dolphins (10-4) to finish in second place in the AFC East, but with three games remaining, anything could happen.

In the NFC west, the Los Angeles Rams (7-7) seem like the favorites to finish in second place, but the Seattle Seahawks (7-7) are still in the mix as well.

The division most in flux is the AFC South — the Jacksonville Jaguars (8-6), Indianapolis Colts (8-6) and Houston Texans (8-6) are in an extremely tight race.

With their AFC South, AFC East and NFC West opponents still TBD, here’s a quick look ahead to the Broncos’ 2024 opponents, courtesy of fbschedules.com.
