Broncos depth chart for Week 1 of 2024 NFL season

Here is the Broncos’ depth chart for today’s game against the Seahawks.

With the 53-man roster set, the Denver Broncos are ready for their Week 1 showdown with the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

The depth chart has few surprises — Jarrett Stidham is the backup quarterback above Zach Wilson, and Riley Moss is listed as a starting cornerback across from Pat Surtain. Both were expected.

Even though we have now reached the regular season, the Broncos still call this their “unofficial” depth chart, so take it with a grain of salt. It seems to be mostly accurate for how the rotations break down, so here’s a look at the depth chart going into Week 1.

Broncos’ projected depth chart with practice squad players included

What would the Broncos’ depth chart look like with practice squad and injured players included? Here’s our projection.

The Denver Broncos released their updated depth chart for Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season on Wednesday afternoon.

There were no big surprises (Jarrett Stidham getting the QB2 nod over Zach Wilson is not a big surprise), but there were two interesting names included.

Broncos fullback Michael Burton and wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey both made the depth chart despite currently being on the 17-player practice squad. That’s likely a good sign that they will be elevated to the game-day roster for Sunday’s showdown with the Seattle Seahawks.

So, what would the depth chart look like if all of the practice squad players were included? And how about the injured players who could return later this year? You can check out our projection below.

Keep in mind that this is a projection — not an official depth chart.

Broncos release updated depth chart for 2024 NFL season

The Broncos have updated their depth chart ahead of the 2024 NFL season. View all of the starters here.

With the 53-man roster set, the Denver Broncos have released their updated depth chart for the 2024 NFL season.

After previously naming Bo Nix their starting quarterback, the Broncos have now declared starters at inside linebacker and cornerback following position battles this summer. Cody Barton will start next to Alex Singleton at ILB and Riley Moss will start across from Pat Surtain at CB.

Marvin Mims is listed as the team’s primary kickoff and punt returner with Tremon Smith and Jaleel McLaughlin providing depth behind him.

Two players — Michael Burton and Lil’Jordan Humphrey — made the depth chart despite currently being on the 17-player practice squad. We have them listed in brackets below to reflect that they are not currently on the active roster.

Here’s how Denver’s depth chart shakes out going into Week 1.

Broncos’ projected depth chart after roster cuts

Following roster cuts, here is our (projected) depth chart for the Broncos.

After setting an initial 53-man roster on Tuesday, the Denver Broncos have not yet released an updated depth chart. So we’re doing it for them.

This is our best guess of how the depth chart will shake out following roster cuts. Denver is thin at guard, but center Alex Forsyth and tackle Matt Peart can both fill in there if needed. Right now, we have Josh Reynolds penciled in as the No. 2 receiver across from Courtland Sutton, but we’ll see how coach Sean Payton handles it.

There aren’t really any question marks on defense because the team’s roster cuts (and injuries) helped sort out the position battles. So here is our predicted depth chart for Denver ahead of Week 1.

Keep in mind that this is a projection, not an official depth chart from the team. We will publish the official depth chart when the Broncos release it.

Broncos’ depth chart for preseason finale vs. Cardinals

This is the Broncos’ “unofficial” depth chart for their preseason finale against the Cardinals today.

The Denver Broncos did not update their depth chart ahead of their preseason finale against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

Broncos coach Sean Payton named Bo Nix the starting quarterback earlier this week, but that decision is not yet reflected on the team’s “unofficial” depth chart. Perhaps that’s because Payton is not yet ready to name starters from the team’s other position battles.

Following the preseason finale, Denver will have until Aug. 27 to finalize a 53-man roster. While we wait for the roster cuts to begin, here’s the depth chart the Broncos have released for the final week of preseason:

Broncos haven’t updated depth chart ahead of preseason finale

The Broncos have not yet updated their depth chart, which might be a sign we’re not getting another update until after roster cuts.

The Denver Broncos have not updated their depth chart ahead of their preseason finale against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

The biggest change, of course, should be Bo Nix being listed as QB1 after he was named the starting quarterback on Wednesday. The Broncos still haven’t updated their “unofficial” depth chart, though, perhaps because coach Sean Payton is not yet ready to declare starters in other position battles.

“We have some tough decisions as we get into the roster,” Payton said Wednesday. “I don’t want to get into all the other roster battles — that’s not for today — but Bo will start.”

Following the preseason finale, Denver will have until Aug. 27 to finalize a 53-man roster. While we wait for the roster cuts to begin, here’s the depth chart the Broncos have released for the final week of preseason:

Broncos depth chart for preseason game vs. Packers

Here is the Broncos’ “unofficial” depth chart for their preseason showdown with the Packers today.

The Denver Broncos unveiled their depth chart for a Week 2 preseason showdown with the Green Bay Packers earlier this week.

The depth chart will look familiar to anyone who paid attention to the team’s initial depth chart release last week. That’s because coach Sean Payton has not made any lineup changes since the original depth chart.

The only two changes are personnel revisions — defensive back Kaleb Hayes joined the team this week and outside linebacker Jaylon Allen was waived. Everyone else on the roster has the exact same placement as last week.

The Broncos will make changes to the depth chart eventually, but Payton is clearly in no rush to let fans and pundits (and opponents) know how the team’s players stack up after one week of preseason action.

Denver also calls it an “unofficial” depth chart, so there’s really not much to glean from it, but here it is nonetheless.

Broncos release depth chart for Week 2 of preseason

Broncos depth chart for Week 1 of preseason

Here is the Broncos’ depth chart for their preseason opener against the Colts today.

The Denver Broncos are set to face the Indianapolis Colts in their preseason opener on Sunday. Ahead of that matchup, the Broncos were required by NFL rules to release a depth chart.

Broncos coach Sean Payton followed the mandate, but he clearly did not take the depth chart very seriously. Every rookie on the team is listed last at their respective positions, including quarterback Bo Nix. Denver also calls it an “unofficial” depth chart despite it being sourced straight from the team.

So fans should keep in mind that this is an initial, “unofficial” depth chart that is subject to change in the coming weeks. Outside of the rookies, though, it seems to roughly show how the team’s players stack up going into preseason.
