Ohio State lands four-star quarterback

Ohio State lands four-star quarterback #GoBucks #BOOM

The Ohio State Buckeyes are back in business on the recruiting trail. After a rough few days of missing out on some highly touted targets, Ryan Day and his crew snagged their quarterback of the class of 2023 in Brock Glenn. The four-star gunslinger from Tennesse was offered in early June and proceeded to take a visit during the middle of June and apparently liked what he saw.

Glenn mentioned during his announcement that his main priority when looking for a school was the coaching staff and his opportunity for development. He noted that he trusted Ryan Day and Corey Dennis. Glenn also mentioned his excitement for the Ohio State offense and felt that he would be comfortable at the collegiate level because he runs a similar offense currently in high school.

This was a big get for Ohio State as Florida State was fighting hard for the services of Glenn, but at the end of the day the extremely strong offensive class Ohio State has put together likely swayed Glenn into coming to Columbus.

Four-star 2023 quarterback lists LSU in his final 5, sets commitment date

Ohio State is now the favorite to land Glenn, a blue-chip quarterback from Memphis.

[autotag]Brock Glenn[/autotag], a 6-foot-2, 195-pound quarterback in the 2023 class from Memphis, Tennessee, has listed LSU among his final five. The four-star quarterback also set a commitment date and will announce his decision on Saturday.

The Tigers made the cut along with Ohio State, Florida State, TCU, and Auburn. Glenn’s grandfather was a graduate of Auburn in 1963. His family ties are so deep in orange and blue that his first name is Auburn. Literally.

Due to that, Auburn was the favorite to land the talented signal-caller for a while, until Florida State came knocking. The Seminoles had a commitment from another four-star quarterback in the 2023 class in Chris Parson until they decided to put a lot of chips on the table for Glenn — the No. 335 overall player in 2023 and No. 17 quarterback, per the 247Sports Composite.

When that happened, Parson de-committed and left them without a quarterback in the 2023 class. So, Florida State was a favorite for a while after that. Now, it seems that Ohio State is the favorite.

Seven different experts on 247Sports Crystal-Balled him to Ohio State on July 28. With all of that being said though, never count out [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] in any recruiting race. A lot of people thought the Tigers were out of the running for [autotag]Paul Mubenga[/autotag], and look at what happened there.

We’ll keep you posted here on LSU Wire as Glenn is set to make a decision Saturday.

Auburn QB target sets commitment date, lists Tigers in top five

Auburn is in the running to land one of the most talented quarterbacks in the 2023 recruiting cycle.

Auburn hopes to land the next key piece to their 2023 recruiting class in the form of a four-star quarterback.

[autotag]Brock Glenn[/autotag], a four-star quarterback from Memphis, Tennessee, has revealed that he will choose between Auburn, Florida State, Ohio State, LSU, and TCU on Friday, July 30.

Auburn has been high on Glenn’s radar since birth. According to On3, Glenn’s grandfather graduated from the Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine, which formed a long-term connection with the University. So much so, that his parents gave Glenn the first name of “Auburn.”

Glenn tells On3 that he feels that Auburn is heading in the right direction under head coach [autotag]Bryan Harsin[/autotag].

What Coach Harsin is doing with the program is amazing. He is truly changing the culture and entire program for the better, and I really believe they will be contenders here soon. I also love Auburn’s great tradition, I believe it’s one of, if not the best in the nation. They have great fans and a great community. Coach Harsin’s offense is really good as well, and I do believe it prepares you for the NFL, especially from a mental aspect, which is very important to me. Overall, Auburn is a great program with great people!

Despite his first name, and his strong feelings towards Auburn, Harsin may have some competition to fight off. According to all three major recruiting sites, On3, 247Sports, and Rivals, all signs point to Glenn committing to Florida State.

Glenn is the No. 20 ranked quarterback in the nation for the 2023 class, and the No. 9 overall prospect from Tennessee. He was also one of 20 quarterbacks to compete in the Elite 11 finals that were held in California last month.

Expect Auburn’s QB target to commit in near future

Auburn Football hopes to receive good news from four-star quarterback Brock Glenn very soon.

Auburn quarterback target [autotag]Brock Glenn[/autotag] is set to compete in the Elite 11 finals this week in Los Angeles, California. Out of the 20 competitors in this year’s event, Glenn is one of three quarterbacks that have yet to commit. That could change following this week’s event.

Once he arrived in Los Angeles on Sunday, Glenn spoke with Sports Illustrated’s John Garcia Jr about his recruitment. Garcia wrote a synopsis of the conversation.

Brock Glenn has added the most recent offers among passers still looking to make the final call. The Memphis native picked up LSU in recent days and told SI on Sunday he is considering the Tigers despite the lack of an official visit to Baton Rouge. Auburn is the program he’s most familiar with while Ohio State, another recent offer he was able to vet with an official visit, appears to be a primary challenger. Florida State, Mississippi State and TCU are also in the mix for the accurate Glenn, who says he wants to come off the board “as fast as I can” once the event wraps up.

Despite being courted by other Power Five programs, Glenn is still expected to commit to Auburn says 247sports. Three writers, including Auburn Undercover’s Christian Clemente, have confidently predicted that Glenn will land with Auburn by giving Auburn the Crystal Ball.

Glenn is a 247sports composite four-star quarterback from Memphis, Tennessee. He is the No. 18 ranked quarterback in the nation, and the 9th best prospect from the state of Tennessee. He would be a much-needed addition to Auburn’s 2023 recruiting class, which only has two commits to this point, and would hopefully spark a surge of commitments.

This 4-star QB recruit has unofficial visit to Florida set next week

Chalk up another blue-chipper who plans on swinging through Gainesville this month.

Things are heating up in Gainesville and it is not just the impending summer swelter that continues to push the mercury upwards. Florida football’s recruiting team is hard at work burning the midnight oil as [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and staff host a plethora of prep prospects in the Swamp over the next several weeks.

While many from the high school ranks are making their official visits to campus, there are also others who are not quite sold on the Orange and Blue but are getting a gander just in case. One of those recruits is 4-star quarterback Brock Glenn out of Memphis (Tennessee) Lausanne Collegiate School, who recently set his crosshairs on Gainesville for an unofficial visit on Monday, according to 247Sports’ Steve Wilfong.

“Florida and I have been in contact for a little now. They love my film and everything they’ve seen so far, but they really want to see me in person and on campus.”

Glenn currently ranks No. 363 overall and No. 20 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite, while the On3 consensus has him at Nos. 450 and 23, respectively. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has Auburn in front with a 94.3% chance of landing him and 247Sports agrees, awarding two crystal ball predictions to the Tigers.

Gators eyeing this top-25 QB recruit, sets unofficial visit date

Napier and Co. are digging deep for quarterback recruits this cycle.

Head coach [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and his staff are hard at work putting all of their efforts into rebuilding a once-storied Florida football program. As the summer months roll in, that endeavor is now laser-focused on the recruiting front, an area where previous coaching regimes have fallen short over the past decade and an imperative for any school looking to tangle among the top teams.

While the Gators are currently in pursuit of California quarterback [autotag]Jaden Rashada[/autotag] as their primary plan, the team is also considering its contingencies in case they fall short of their goal. Among those is three-star QB [autotag]Brock Glenn[/autotag] out of Memphis (Tennessee) Lausanne Collegiate School, who ranks in the top 25 at the position nationally.

According to On3’s Auburn Live, Glenn is planning on an unofficial visit to Gainesville on June 13, having already stopped by to see the Auburn Tigers and TCU Horned Frogs. The Tennessean play-caller also currently holds offers from a plethora of schools, including the Florida State Seminoles, Missouri Tigers, Kentucky Wildcats and Mississippi State Bulldogs, in addition to Florida.

The 6-foot-2-inch, 185-pound passer is the No. 406 prospect overall and the No. 23 quarterback nationally in the 2023 class per the 247Sports Composite, while the On3 Consensus has him at No. 484 and No. 24, respectively. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has Auburn out in front in his recruitment with a 96.6% chance of landing him.

The list of upcoming official visits for Auburn

A huge weekend is on the horizon.

On Wednesday, 2023 offensive tackle Ian Geffrard announced that he would be visiting the Plains from June 3rd-5th. It will be his first official visit since being offered in August of 2021. It will be the third trip that he has taken overall to Auburn.

Geffrard is regarded as a three-star according to 247Sports’ recruiting rankings. He is listed at 6-foot-6 and 350 pounds. Geffrard attends Whitefield Academy in Mableton, Georgia. Several programs that have offered him thus far are Mississippi State, West Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, and Arkansas.

As it stands, the Tigers only have two commitments in their 2023 recruiting class. The two are four-stars Bradyn Joiner and Terrance Love. Joiner, an offensive guard, is the lone offensive lineman in the Tigers class thus far. It is evident that the coaching staff is in search of some protection off the edge. The staff has offered 23 offensive tackles in the class and several of them have already made visits to the Plains. Now, it appears that the Georgia native has become a priority.

Geffrard isn’t the only high-priority target coming to Auburn. The full list of visits coming this weekend:
