Analysis: It’s tough to project where Brian Robinson Jr. is going to be on Alabama’s depth chart in 2020. On one hand, he’s a valued, experienced runner who has been an effective option at times.

On the other hand, the power back from Tuscaloosa struggled with vision and consistency at various points throughout this past season. He only averaged 4.59 yards, which is significantly lower than the 5.86 yards that Najee Harris averaged and the 6.51 yards we saw from Keilan Robinson.

There’s also the question as to where redshirt freshman phenom Trey Sanders ends up on the depth, as the only thing that seemed to be able to slow down the former five-star heading into his freshman season was a foot injury.

Still, Robinson has the ability to be an above-average SEC running back, and that experience (194 total touches for 1,002 yards in three seasons) could prove to be useful despite a loaded backfield with Harris, Sanders, the younger Robinson and three talented freshmen coming in.

It’s a good problem to have for the Crimson Tide.
