“I knew it was going to be a tough fight and it was going to be a war. We knew it was going to happen. We talked about this – there’s going to be a tough fight, but it doesn’t matter. We’re frustrated sometimes because we don’t get the knockout, but it doesn’t matter how we get the win. I knew that my arm was the one to be raised.”

“(I had) no terror whatsoever. I didn’t feel any (pressure). I knew we were going to make it happen. I work so hard, but in my other fights in the UFC, they were just minor adjustments that prevented me from a win. I just needed to make these adjustments. We put a lot of work, even on on the on the mental side. There’s no pressure. I knew that all those adjustments, all we needed to do is just make those minor adjustments to come out with the win.”

Ribeiro on what he wants next

“I’m a fighter. I want to fight as soon as possible. I have another challenge coming – no, no, not a challenge. I’m getting married on the 4th of January to my future wife. Love you – I love you. So it is a beautiful moment in my life, very important step in my life.”

The UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance program has now paid out more than $7 million to athletes in 2024.

EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada – Fighters from Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 246 event took home UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay totaling $196,500.

The program, a comprehensive plan that includes outfitting requirements, media obligations and other items under the fighter code of conduct, replaces the previous payments made under the UFC Athlete Outfitting Policy.

Additionally, champions earn $42,000 while title challengers get $32,000.

In addition to experience-based pay, UFC fighters will receive in perpetuity royalty payments amounting to 20-30 percent of any UFC merchandise sold that bears their likeness, according to officials.

Another DWCS veteran, Ribeiro was finished by Mingyang Zhang in his debut, followed by a majority decision loss against Magomed Gadzhiyasulov.

Filling out the main card in Edmonton is a battle between two light heavyweights on losing skids, Machado and Ribeiro.

Despite having a trio of exciting bantamweight fights featuring local talent on the prelims to pick from, the UFC matchmakers are back to drowning us with lower-level big guys on the main cards.

Although Machado received a harsh grade from me in his Contender Series contest, the Brazil-born Canadian showed some quiet improvements in what were two competitive losses on the scorecards.

Whereas Ribeiro, who received a solid grade due to the nature of having a fast finish, has since shown a lack of depth and suspect staying power in his game.

This fight could go several ways, but I sadly see it as a slower, drawn-out affair that favors the southpaw Machado.

The official pick is Machado by decision.

UFC 298 medical suspensions: Henry Cejudo among 9 fighters suspended 180 days

Nine UFC 298 competitors are out a potential 180 days due to injuries sustained in their fights Saturday in Anaheim, Calif.

Saturday’s UFC pay-per-view event in Anaheim, Calif. was not a good night to be a limb.

UFC 298 took place at Anaheim, Calif. and featured 12 bouts and 24 fighters. Nine of those fighters were handed six-month suspensions as a result of injuries sustained in their bouts. Eight of those potential injuries were deemed possible fractures.

Monday, California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) executive director Andy Foster, who oversaw the event, provided MMA Junkie with a full list of medical suspensions.
