Braves at Yankees picks and predictions
Prediction
Braves 5, Yankees 4
Moneyline
New York has faltered in 3 straight series finales.
The mound matchup between port-siders is one of quality, but figure an advantage on what will be another warm day in the Bronx. Fried is more adept at getting ground balls, while Cortes yields a lot of aerial action.
Cortes coming off 105 pitches in his last is not ideal; he has not fared too well in previous next-time-outs after higher counts. He’s backed by the lesser of the 2 bullpens. Fried is a fine road pitcher and is more likely than to deliver the game into the 7th inning or beyond.
The tag here should slow our roll a bit, though. FanDuel Sportsbook offers the BRAVES (-112). At that price, Atlanta is worth a partial-unit play.
Run line/Against the spread
Worth a line watch if things start to tilt more toward the home nine. Atlanta minus a cushion at +150 for a return would be enticing. PASS otherwise.
Over/Under
Yankees pitching has had some rough moments this week, and the Over is 6-1 in New York’s last 7 games. Even with the solid pitching matchup in this series ender, the Over is a lean. But with the line change from 8.5 to 9, best to PASS.
