The next group of 2023 offensive recruits who could be on the radar

A look at three prominent playmakers on offense that Lincoln Riley and the Oklahoma Sooners could get to commit next.

Lincoln Riley and the Oklahoma Sooners have been on an absolute tear in the 2023 recruiting class of late. It started with the commitment of four-star athlete Treyaun Webb.

While listed as an athlete, Webb is viewed as a dual threat at running back. Webb can be used as a runner or can catch the ball out of the backfield.

That commitment was followed by five-star quarterback Malachi Nelson’s. He becomes the third five-star commitment for Riley at the position. The previous two were Spencer Rattler and Caleb Williams. Nelson completes the trifecta. With the quarterback of the class locked up, the offensive players around him should follow. More on that in a moment.

On Friday, the Sooners added four-star tight end Luke Hasz to the mix. The Oklahoma native is listed as the No. 2 tight end in the country. While some teams don’t have the luxury of top-tier tight ends, Riley’s offense uses them as an advantage. Hasz and Webb give the Sooners a nice trio along with Nelson at quarterback. OU wasn’t done.

On Saturday, the Sooners received their fourth pledge of the class, five-star athlete Makai Lemon. While listed as an athlete, Lemon is going to play wide receiver for the Sooners. He is already catching passes from Nelson; they are teammates at Los Alamitos. Lemon adds another five-star pass catcher to an already loaded offense in Norman.

Sooners Wire looks at three more offensive weapons who could be next to pledge to the Crimson and Cream. One of those players is expected to be catching passes from Malachi Nelson the next two seasons.

Oklahoma among top 10 for No. 1 WR in the 2023 class

Oklahoma among the top 10 for the nation’s top wide receiver in the 2023 recruiting class.

On Saturday afternoon the Oklahoma Sooners were named among the top schools for the nation’s top receiver in the 2023 class. Brandon Inniss of American Heritage in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, listed the Sooners among his top 10 schools. No other Big 12 Conference team is in the running for the No. 1 wide receiver and No. 7 overall prospect in the nation. These rankings courtesy of 247Sports composite rankings.

Inniss recently took an unofficial visit to Norman during the ChampU BBQ event held by the coaching staff. Oklahoma currently has the No. 1 wide receiver in the 2022 class, Luther Burden, committed to playing his college football in Crimson and Cream. Despite the fact that he was recently in Athens, Georgia, posing in their uniform. Lincoln Riley could be closing in on another top wide receiver to add to his team in the near future.

The Sooners are also among the top schools for the No. 2 wide receiver Jalen Hale of Longview, Texas. As well as the No. 4 receiver, DeAndre Moore Jr of Desert Pines in Las Vegas, Nevada. Could be another stud wide receiver filled class for the Sooners.

Georgia football offers scholarship to WR Brandon Inniss

WR Brandon Inniss took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce an offer from Georgia football for the 2023 recruiting class.

There has been yet another reported scholarship offer by the Bulldogs, this time in the class of 2023 to wide receiver Brandon Inniss of University School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Inniss took to Twitter Wednesday evening to announce Georgia’s offer.

In 2018, Inniss played on University School’s Varsity team as an eighth grader and in 2019, he was named a MaxPreps Freshman All-American, MVP of the Prime 239 7v7 Tournament and FBU All-American.

Inniss (6-1, 184) has a verified 40 time of 4.68 and a 4.44 shuttle as a freshman, which only can get better as he grows over the next few years.

Going into his sophomore season in 2020, Inniss already holds offers from Baylor, Florida, Florida State and now Georgia among 18 others.

He does not have any national rankings available at this time due to his age.
