It seems Tom Brady just can’t quit Julian Edelman

Bucs QB Tom Brady had a hilarious response to Julian Edelman’s Instagram post welcoming Cam Newton to town.

Tom Brady may be the new quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he still has plenty of friends on the New England Patriots, including wide receiver Julian Edelman, who was part of three-Super Bowl winning teams with Brady. Edelman even won Super Bowl MVP following the Patriots’ Super Bowl LIII win over the Los Angeles Rams.

While Brady will have plenty of talented receivers to work with in Tampa, including his former Pats teammate Rob Gronkowski, it’s clear he and Edelman are still great friends, evident by this hilarious comment Brady left on Edelman’s recent Instagram post welcoming quarterback Cam Newton to New England.

Take a look.

Newton famously wore No. 1 with the Carolina Panthers, so he could very well look to keep that same number with the Patriots.

As for Brady, he’ll just have to accept that Edelman has found someone else. Leave the past in the past, Tom!

Brady and the Patriots were blown out in Week 1 of the 2003 season, but got the last laugh

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots were blown out in Week 1 in 2003. Find out how that team performed the rest of the way.

The Tom Brady era in Tampa Bay kicks off Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints in the Superdome, and for the first time in ages Brady may find himself as an underdog in the regular season.

But as they say, it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. Case in point? The 2003 New England Patriots, who after winning the Super Bowl in 2001 failed to make the playoffs in 2002 with a 9-7 record.

In Week 1 of the 2003 season, Brady and the Patriots visited the Buffalo Bills and former quarterback Drew Bledsoe, and were blown out 31-0. The Patriots had released long-time safety Lawyer Milloy just days before their game, only to watch him go and sign with the Bills. Milloy likely knew the entire Patriots’ game plan, which helped contribute to Buffalo’s dominance, as Brady finished the game just 14-for-28 for 123 yards and four interceptions. The loss had many wondering if New England was wrong to put their faith in Brady, and if maybe his Super Bowl-winning season was nothing but a one-hit wonder.

Ultimately, though, the Patriots got the last laugh. After a 2-2 start to the season, New England would run the table, going 12-0 the rest of the regular season before eventually downing the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII. But what made the championship season even sweeter was the fact that New England’s final home game that year was against the Bills… who they beat 31-0.

So, even if the Bucs lose in Week 1 to the Saints, don’t write Brady and his team off just yet.

Brett Favre told Tom Brady to ‘go for it’

Former NFL QB Brett Favre said he spoke with Tom Brady at Super Bowl LIV and had this to say to the new Bucs QB.

Tom Brady isn’t the first Hall of Fame quarterback to switch teams late in his career. Guys like Joe Montana, Peyton Manning and Brett Favre have all made the move, leaving their respective teams in search of glory elsewhere.

Favre, the longtime quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, found himself switching teams twice towards the end of his career, first going to the New York Jets and then the Minnesota Vikings. Favre’s best season post-Pack was with the Vikes in 2009, when he threw for 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions while leading his team to a 12-4 record and trip to the NFC Championship Game.

Favre spoke on SiriusXM NFL radio yesterday about his encounter at Super Bowl LIV with Brady, and the advice he gave TB12.

The Bucs almost got Favre back in 2008 before he landed with the Jets. Fortunately, they snagged an even bigger quarterback this offseason.

A look at some of the best and worst uniforms in Patriots and Buccaneers history

Now that the New England Patriots have undergone a uniform redesign, take a look at the best and worst unis in Pats and Bucs history.

Both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New England Patriots are dealing with quarterback Tom Brady in different ways this offseason. The Patriots said goodbye to the six-time Super Bowl champion after his 20-year run with the team, while the Bucs openly welcomed Brady to the bay to spearhead Bruce Arians’ offense and get Tampa Bay back to the postseason.

And, it seems both teams felt it appropriate to undergo a uniform redesign this offseason, too. The Buccaneers unveiled their new threads a few weeks ago, while the Patriots just announced today that their color rush uniforms will now be their primary ones. Both the Bucs and Patriots’ redesigns are major upgrades from what they had before, but it’s not the first time each franchise has undergone a change.

With that, let’s take a look at some the best and worst uniforms in the Patriots and Buccaneers’ history.

Bill Belichick was a Buccaneer long before Tom Brady

Take a look back at this old Halloween photo of Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady appeared onĀ The Howard Stern Show today and discussed a variety of topics, most notably his departure from the New England Patriots and the perception that things had soured between him and head coach Bill Belichick.

Brady, to his credit, tried to put that notion to rest. But no matter what happens in Tampa Bay for the future Hall of Famer, Brady will always be tied to Belichick. And, it seems the two have more in common than we knew. In fact, Belichick was actually a buccaneer long before Brady.

Take a look.

Flashback Friday: Tom Brady leads Patriots to victory over the Bucs

Watch new Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady lead his old team, the Patriots, to victory over his new team back in 2017.

Tom Brady is a Tampa Bay Buccaneer now, meaning the six-time Super Bowl champion will have a chance at becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to play a Super Bowl in his own stadium, as Super Bowl LV will be at Raymond James Stadium next year.

But Brady is no stranger to RJ Stadium, as he and the New England Patriots visited the Bucs for a Thursday night showdown back in Week 5 of the 2017 season. The Pats walked away with a 19-14 victory.

Take a look now at some of the highlights from that game. It’s crazy to watch Brady play and think that in a few short years he’d be calling that stadium his new home.

Report: Bucs make strong offer to QB Tom Brady

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have gone all in on their offer to quarterback Tom Brady, per Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

The Tom Brady era is officially over in New England, as the six-time Super Bowl champion took to his Instagram account today to thank Patriots fans everywhere for the 20 years of memories.

Now a free agent for the first time in his career, Brady will now likely wind up in either Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers or Los Angeles with the Chargers. And, as Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports, the Bucs have gone ahead and made a strong offer to the Golden Boy.

Take a look.

If we are just talking football, then Tampa Bay is a no-brainer in terms of where Brady should go. A two-time NFL Coach of the Year in Bruce Arians would give Brady a veteran leader on the sideline, plus, he’d get to throw to Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

However, as many have pointed out, in Brady’s Instagram post he referred to himself as a “California kid,” leading some to speculate he is LA-bound, especially when you consider the glitz and glamour Hollywood provides him and his supermodel wife, Gisele BĆ¼ndchen.

Time will tell.
