WATCH: Charles Melton discusses his Eagles fandom on ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’

Another celebrity who bleeds green is Riverdale’s Charles Melton.

The Philadelphia Eagles have a strong fandom throughout the country, which also flows into Hollywood. Bradley Cooper, Tina Fey, and Kevin Hart proudly support the Eagles when they’re playing. But another celebrity who bleeds green is Riverdale’s Charles Melton.

Melton, known for playing Reggie Mantle in Riverdale and Rafe in Bad Boys for Life, joined Live with Kelly and Mark Tuesday morning for press about his recent project, May December.

However, before the break, a quick question about the Eagles popped up, which Melton was eager to answer.

“My dad was stationed in Germany and the only televised games were the Cowboys [and] the Patriots. The Cowboys played the Eagles twice every year. That was when [the Eagles] had Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook, so they were really good,” Melton said.

“They went to the NFC Championship four years in a row and that’s when I fell in love with them,” he continued.

Kelly Ripa, long-time Live co-host, is also an Eagles fan, having grown up in Stratford, New Jersey, near the Philadelphia sports scene.

“Charles and I are on the same team,” Kelly said.

Melton previously played as a defensive back for Kansas State University, and the love of football stuck.

Bradley Cooper said he’d trade winning Oscars for the Eagles winning a Super Bowl

Bradley Cooper really, really, really loves the Eagles.

In a delight to Philadelphia Eagles fans and a shock to the Netflix awards publicity team, actor and filmmaker Bradley Cooper has offered the football gods a sacrifice for a Philly Super Bowl win.

While speaking with Howard Stern, Cooper said very confidently that he’d rather the Eagles win the big game than his film Maestro winning three Oscars for Best Director, Best Actor and Best Actress for Carey Mulligan at next year’s ceremony.

Oh yes, Cooper would absolutely forgo winning two Academy Awards individually to watch his favorite NFL team hoist the Lombardi in February.

If this isn’t dedicated fandom, we’re really not sure what is.

While Cooper’s Leonard Bernstein biopic plays in select theaters right now and should haul in a respectable number of Oscar nomination this winter, his Eagles are 10-1 and are in the driver’s seat for the top seed in the NFC.

Maestro has more serious competition right now in the Oscar race than Philadelphia does in in the Super Bowl hunt, so maybe that’s swaying Cooper a bit to be okay with his sophomore feature not doing as well awards-wise.

At the least, Cooper should amend his idea for Mulligan to be eligible to win Best Actress, even if he gives up his own trophies for the ultimate NFL trophy. She’s not a part of this wager!

Bradley Cooper, Jon Hamm, Brie Larson, Danny McBride: Will the A-list celebrities win the night?

Will the top spots in Super Bowl 57 commercial lineup be dominated by the big-name celebs?

It’s here!

After a January filled with rumors and updates—some true, others just hearsay (GM? Not in? Hmm..)—and the early days of February teasing fans with snippets of what’s ahead, the Super Bowl commercial stage is set.

What is the cost to appear on adverting’s biggest stage in 2023? $7 million, which sets a new record.

And the brands that jumped into the big game lineup are making sure that the down payment is well spent, coming out creatively swinging with unique twists and turns in a matter of seconds that will play out in front of 100,000,000 people.

Sleight of hand and dynamic punchlines aren’t the entire story, though, as the delivery is only as good as the deliverer.

Or… is it?

A-list celebrities are not an uncommon casting decision throughout Super Bowl commercial history, but as more top entertainers navigate the Digital Age—and the stigma of appearing in an ad have long since been shed—you’re seeing way more headliners jump into the small-screen mania.

Getting your name out there is getting your name out there, right?

And the pop-culture whirlwind surrounding these commercials certainly gets their name in the mix.

This year, much like the record spending to get into the game, commercial fans have been treated to an award-ceremony level of top actors and actresses, rising above the 2022 billing (that seemd to be packed with A-list talent).

Add in the legendary musicians—like Dave Grohl, Elton John and Ozzy—and you’re looking at a Super Bowl commercial run sheet that teeters on iconic.

But how that plays out in the Ad Meter ratings is as unknown as the final score—in the game and “the game.”

Until the results provide a clearer answer, here are three spots that caught our eye for having some of Hollywood’s heaviest hitters.

There are quite a number of high profile celebrity fans of both the Chiefs and the Eagles. Philadelphia may have some greats like Bradley Cooper and Mike Trout backing them, but you’d be surprised at some of the celebrities that are Eagles fans.
