CBS Sports send the Vikings a wide receiver in latest mock draft

The latest mock draft from CBS Sports has the Minnesota Vikings taking wide receiver Zay Flowers.

The wide receiver position remains a need for the Minnesota Vikings. The NFL Draft offers them a chance to address this need.

CBS Sports’ Will Brinson unveiled his latest mock draft, which has the Vikings picking Boston College wide receiver Zay Flowers.

Maybe Vikings fans would like another receiver? Feels like weapons on offense isn’t their biggest concern right now after last year’s defensive performance though.

The Vikings could instantly upgrade their offense with the addition of Flowers. He’s an electric playmaker who possesses great speed. That speed allows Flowers to be a legitimate deep threat who can play both inside and outside.

Drafting Flowers would be a perfect complement for Justin Jefferson. Combining these two with tight end T.J. Hockenson in the Vikings’ offense would give the offense a ton of potential.

NBC Sports Edge mock draft sends Vikings electric wide receiver

The Minnesota Vikings have been sent 50 unique players and wide receiver is becoming increasingly popular.

The Minnesota Vikings have been mocked 50 different players so far. That’s an astounding number and it shows how deep this draft is from about pick 20 to pick 60. Wide reciever and become increasingly popular for the Vikings and it is continuing this week.

NBC Sports Edge’s Kyle Dvorchak is of the same mindset as his mock draft has the Vikings selecting Boston College WR Zay Flowers.

After cutting Adam Thielen, the Vikings are set to start K.J. Osborn as their second wideout and …Jalen Reagor at WR3. They would add a free agent if they left the first day of the draft without a receiver, but I doubt they want to go down that road. Flowers will take over slot duties and plays with enough physical to move outside when necessary.

The idea of Flowers is explained well by Dvorchak here. He’s best in the slot, but has the ability to win everywhere. Getting a player like that for this offense would be a fantastic outcome for the Vikings.

Vikings add explosive wide receiver in latest Bucky Brooks mock draft

In the latest mock draft from NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks, the Vikings added an explosive wide receiver at 23rd overall.

The Minnesota Vikings chose to move on from some high priced veterans this offseason, including hometown wide recevier Adam Thielen. The decision was a difficult one but one that had to be made considering his cap hit.

NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks released his latest mock draft and gave the Vikings an explosive replacement for Thielen in Boston College wide receiver Zay Flowers.

After moving on from Adam Thielen this offseason, the Vikings grab a route-running specialist as a playmate for 2022 Offensive Player of the Year Justin Jefferson. Flowers’ speed, quickness and precision make him an ideal candidate as a WR2 opposite the All-Pro wideout.

Flowers would be an interesting addition to the Vikings. Despite being a smaller receiver, Flowers is both explosive and a well-rounded threat that can attack all three levels of the defense.

Taking a wide receiver in round one is the second-best outcome for the Vikings in the NFL draft with finding a quarterback of the future being the only better outcome.

Mock Draft Roundup: Vikings go wide receiver & cornerback

The Vikings could use players at both spots

Draft season is never too early to be a focus. The future is always right in front of you and needs to be looked at as such.

For the Minnesota Vikings, they are currently in a situation where they have 10 wins in just 13 games utilizing what the organization is calling a competitive rebuild. They have taken mostly the same team from last season and made it one win away from a division champion.

As we continue to look forward, we at Vikings Wire will be keeping track of who the media mocks to the Vikings. That tally will start on January 1st, but there are some good mock drafts coming during the season.

We found three of them that we want to shine a light on and they all went to the boundary to give the Vikings an upgrade.
