“I thought he did a great job,” Martinez said. “We had a couple guys that played for the first time, and he was one of them. Made some plays. Moment wasn’t too big for him. Obviously, we love to see what he looks like this game, because, obviously, you’re going to try to make the biggest improvement from game one to game two, but I thought he played well.”

Boo Carter earns preseason true freshman All-American honors

Tennessee defensive back Boo Carter earns preseason true freshman All-American honors.

Tennessee defensive back Boo Carter earned preseason true freshman honors from On3 ahead of the 2024 season.

Carter was a four-star prospect from Bradley Central High School in Cleveland, Tennessee. He ranked as the No. 149 prospect in the class 2025, the No. 5 athlete and No. 3 player in Tennessee.

“Simply put, Boo Carter is a baller,” Charles Power of On3 said. “He is an outstanding football player and one who plays with just an aggressive mentality and has a penchant for making plays. He is a versatile defensive back who appears to be set to see significant snaps and perhaps a starting role in Tennessee’s defense this fall. He is capable of covering slide receivers, running backs, tight ends and is just an aggressive ball -hawking type of presence in the secondary. Boo Carter was a do-it-all player at the high school level and one who I think with continued focus on the defensive side of the ball has a lot of potential and looks to have parlayed a very strong senior season into a great start in Knoxville.”

The two guys that are competing are Christian and Boo. They’re doing a really good job.”

The 5-foot-11, 195-pound Carter enters his first season with the Vols as a freshman in 2024.

Four-star Tennessee commit Boo Carter visiting CU for Colorado State game

Four-star athlete @boo_Carter6 will reportedly be taking an unofficial visit to Boulder this weekend

The Colorado Buffaloes have jumped out to a 2-0 start and are catching the nation by storm. Recruits are coming in left and right to get a first-hand look at this team as well.

With the Buffs hosting Colorado State this weekend, there will be more notable recruits at the game to take it all in. One of the big ones is four-star athlete and current Tennessee Volunteers commit Boo Carter, per On3.

Chattanooga (Tenn.) Bradley Central four-star athlete and Tennessee commit Boo Carter will be in Boulder on a visit, according to an Instagram post from Carter’s mother. The trip, which will be unofficial, was confirmed by Volquest’s Matt Ray.

The 2024 prospect has visited Colorado twice this year, once in January and again in April. However, he committed to Tennessee in the summer and was at the Vols home game on Saturday when they defeated Austin Peay.

But, his taking a visit to Boulder at this time is noteworthy. It would be massive if Deion Sanders and the Buffs can flip Carter’s decision after all of this.
