#Royals SS Bobby Witt Jr. gave #Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes a shoutout on Twitter after his ‘angry run’ against the #49ers in Week 7.

The Kansas City Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes are two of the most recognizable brands in the sports world, and Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. took notice of the defending Super Bowl champions’ excellence in their Week 7 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

The Royals’ season came to an abrupt end last week after they fell to the New York Yankees in the ALDS.

Mahomes attended one of the Royals’ games in the MLB playoffs, and the rising young infielder was quick to give the superstar quarterback a shoutout on Instagram after he scored an ‘angry run’ touchdown against the 49ers.

Patrick Mahomes is an avid baseball fan, and when Bobby Witt Jr. took the field for the MLB’s annual Home Run Derby on Monday night, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback was glued to his television.

Witt fought hard against more experienced competition to finish as the event’s runner-up, falling just behind Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernández in the derby’s final round.

Though Mahomes didn’t attend the spectacular showing of slugging prowess in Texas, he and his wife Brittany documented his experience of watching Witt from his living room on social media during each round of the event.

Though Witt didn’t leave with a trophy on Monday night, he will join fellow Royals Salvador Pérez, Cole Ragans, and Seth Lugo at the 2024 MLB All-Star Game on June 16.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is no longer the only professional athlete in Western Missouri with a massive contract worth hundreds of millions of dollars after Bobby Witt Jr. inked a massive contract extension on Monday.

News broke about Witt’s new deal this afternoon, and fans in Kansas City were delighted to find out that the star shortstop will remain with the Royals for at least the better part of the next decade.

Mahomes owns a minority share of the Royals and was among the first people to react to Witt’s signing on social media.

While the reigning MVP quarterback may not be bankrolling Witt’s deal, Mahomes’ massive 10-year, $450 million contract set the standard for big-spending back in 2020.

Mahomes and Witt are now cemented as the faces of Kansas City’s major sports franchises and may prove to be among the best duos of stars in a single market.
