Sixers add former Kings assistant Bobby Jackson to Nick Nurse’s staff

The Philadelphia 76ers will add former Sacramento Kings assistant Bobby Jackson to Nick Nurse’s coaching staff.

New Philadelphia 76ers coach Nick Nurse is building his first coaching staff with the Sixers after four seasons with the Toronto Raptors.

The Sixers lost assistant Sam Cassell to the Boston Celtics after he spent three seasons in Philadelphia with former coach Doc Rivers. It is also expected that Dan Burke will join Monty Williams and the Detroit Pistons.

The Sixers are adding former Sacramento Kings guard and assistant coach Bobby Jackson to Nurse’s staff. Jackson won the Sixth Man of the Year award in 2003 when he averaged 15.2 points and 3.7 rebounds off Sacramento’s bench. He was an assistant with the Kings in the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons. He was coach of the G League’s Stockton Kings in the 2022-23 season.

Jackson will likely work with Tyrese Maxey and the other young guards on the roster to help them continue to develop. He did some player development work with Sacramento in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons.

1997 NBA re-draft: The way it should have been

The 1997 draft had an all-time great in Tim Duncan, a Hall of Fame swingman in Tracy McGrady and a Finals MVP in Chauncey Billups, but there was not an awful lot after that.
